olruggio has never confessed, not even once. he bites the words back every time and qifrey genuinely believes that olruggio doesn't feel that way about him because if he did surely he would've said something by now, it's just that he's such a kind gentle soul, that he would do all this, go this far, and qifrey is taking advantage, selfish and awful, hurting olly over and over and harboring these obviously predatory and unwelcome feelings for him on top of it.

I wholeheartedly believe in reading in a language something was written, if I know that language, of course, but illustrations in Ukrainian version of the Raven cycle is something completely out of this world

the thing most people forget abt Agott is that she's still a child who grieves the little human experiences she couldn't quite gain. Never did she share intimate moments with her family nor was she praised for being strong and studious by them so she came to the conclusion that relationships were futile and even a hindrance to her goal : becoming an accomplished witch.

but Coco. Oh, Coco. By simply opening up her arms and pulling Agott into the warmest embrace, she tossed aside all of Agott's beliefs and forged new ones.

My magic is selfish and desperate so from now on, I will dedicate all of it to you.

And just like that, love came naturally. Coco gave and gave without counting. How could Agott refuse any of it ? How could she not fall for the blinding light that was this girl ?

Coco was so bright Agott forgot the existence of the sun. Still, sometimes the purple-eyed girl felt like Icarus : not matter how much she desired to reach the sun, she would eventually fail and get burned.

Little did Agott know how ethereal she looked in Coco's eyes, to the point she forgot the existence of the moon.

in agott's defense what WAS she supposed to do after this? not fall inconsolably and indelibly in love with coco forever? unrealistic impossible and infeasible honestly

So the evidence implying Qifrey and Olruggio are romantically interested in each other is pretty well documented (myths, tassels, the entirety of witchen) but, I haven't seen as much about the scene that really seals for me that Qifrey wants to fuck Olruggio.

What happens literally is that we cut from baby Qifrey reaching for Olruggio and transforming, to adult Qifrey with his hand fisted in his lap, determinedly not reaching for Olruggio. And then he gets up and goes to stand in a lake and trigger his own PTSD to get the silverwood under control.

What happens symbolically is a guy thinks really hard about another guy, gets wood experiences an uncontrollable throbbing growth which fills him with horror and shame, and then he goes and stands in cold water until he can get it under control.

Completely insane scene construction. Yes, I know how the silverwood's growth is literally triggered, but sometimes a train going into a tunnel is the public transport system working as intended, and sometimes it's self-conscious Freudian symbolism.

Sometimes an evil parasite is an evil parasite, but sometimes it's also getting rock hard for your best friend.

I guees I was complaining to my friend that I don't really get why people are so obsessed with all those slutty poses of Qifrey and Olly, and those arts from artbook and stuff. Like even that frame with Olly during that fight with a Leach I found just funny, nothing else. And so after all that she just looked at me and said "you wouldn't have been complaining if that was Alaira in their place" and uhhhh... yeah. I kinda forgot that it may be my case haha ooops who would've thought

I really like how on most fan arts of adult qiflings they look a bit like Qifley or Olrugio. Which is totally understandable for me when we are talking about Richeh or Tetia, but with Coco and Agott we know how their moms look, but they still look kinda like their teachers

And now that we are on topic, I've noticed most designs look kinda similar. Are there maybe some official art of adult girls that I'm missing on or is it just a funny coincidence?
