lets hear it for transgenderism and faggotry. can I get a round of applause for transgenderism and faggotry
also shoutout to queerness and dykishness and gender fuckery. if you reblog this post you hate conservatives
The real thing with ADHD is not "I forgot", but that forgetting is this ongoing process. I remembered! And then I forgot.
At ten this (hypothetical) morning I remembered that I have a meeting at six. And then from 11 through 3 I worked on other stuff and had zero thoughts about that meeting. Maybe even thought about what I was gonna do with my evening at home. Got attached to the idea of taking the time to make a good dinner, maybe play some video games.
And then at three I said, "Oh! Fuck!" and remembered again, hopefully long enough to set an alarm. And then I went to the bathroom and remembered that I need to clean the counter and spent twenty minutes cleaning the bathroom and went to get a snack and then at five I said, "OH! FUCK!" and had to scramble to dress like a real adult and get out the door.
It isn't one clean forgetting. It's a constant process of forgetting and then, with an exhausting adrenaline spike, remembering. And then forgetting. Baby, I can forget the same thing more times in a day than you ever forgot your parents' anniversary.
Something that shocks me is whenever I'm watching a video for example the new tntl king of the stool I'll look at the comments and there will be at least 1 if not more comments saying oh I missed Noah or glad Noah's here or Noah's here we should have keith more to. Like do the people in the youtube comments not know? This probably doesn't matter but it's just weird and give me kinda the ick also he's *sadly* on spud hut like every week so what do you mean you miss him?
The only reason I watched that video was because I love the format idea and the only reason I watch spud hut is tater frite and Augustus cause i love them
Also I don't get why people were complaining about angela so much cause a. She didn't win b. Why do you care so much how much water is in her mouth and c. How is it a big deal. like I saw a lot if comments about it but wouldn't have noticed without seeing them so whats the huge deal?
People will always find something to complain about, even complete nonissues. It sucks that she lost on a technicality but that's the kind of thing that I think makes this fun.
so I got into grad school today with my shitty 2.8 gpa and the moral of the story is reblog those good luck posts for the love of god
okay so i just got my dream job??? a week after applying to it?? and now i’m thinking….maybe this is the good luck post
…..not even six hours later i got an offer of a well paying full time long-term job with free room and board in queens in nyc, allowing me independence and a way to escape an abusive situation and an unhealthy environment

i need all the help i can get for finals
Hey so
the last time I reblogged this post right before I got a great job, in a permanent work-from-home position, with benefits, retirement, and a salary literally 3x what I was making before, doing something I really like.
So you know.
This might be the real one, y’all.
At this point literally anything helps.
For my upcoming mid terms, semi finals and finals. Please.
Eh fuck it let’s do this not like i’m gonna lose anything anyways
Guys I won first place in a singing competition :0
Listen, I have grad school apps to fill out and rent to pay
I’m always fascinated by people who can trick their brain into doing things.
“If we finish this chore then we can have a treat.”
I have ADHD. My brain says orrr I can have the treat and never do the chore
Going to the bathroom when you have skin picking disorder is kinda like an adventure. Will I go pee or will I enter a fugue state and rip all my skin off bc I felt a small blackhead on my shoulder. The possibilities are endless.
Hey just a general PSA from someone officially diagnosed and documented:
Now is not the time to seek out an autism diagnosis.
RFK's plans have been made very clear and any diagnosis you do get will get you put on this "national disease registry" they're proposing.
Trust me when I say I completely understand the need for accommodations and a better understanding of yourself, but if you have gone this long without being diagnosed, you will be better off waiting.
Furthermore, listen to and advocate for folks who are diagnosed, especially folks with higher support needs. They'll be the first ones targeted for whatever bullshit "experimental treatments" the government tries to push.
Stay safe and look out for your neighbor.
Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.
If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.
Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
Give your brain a Daily Dose Of De-Frag.
Autism Speaks Canada is "concluding its operations" on January 31st 2025!
i still havent moved on from this
Yeah I feel like we really glossed over this

btw, if you're looking for a resolution and you feel like you're living in a mess, I can recommend from experience "clean one thing a day" and/or "throw away one thing a day"
the key is to make the minimum be really anything - throwing away a wrapper off your desk, cleaning a single plate so you have something to make your dinner off of, doing laundry - so that you start to get a sense of accomplishment out of doing the cleaning.
and once cleaning starts being something you can microdose dopamine from, you're unstoppable
I went through the second half of my ADHD testing today. And we had some time left. She asked me how I was feeling, towards the end, about the questions and the issues I'd talked about, and I told her about my anxiety and guilt over the things I'd mentioned, and my fear even now that I'd get through this whole process just to hear 'It's not ADHD, you're just lazy, just try harder.' When I told her that she gently said, "well I want you to know, you do have ADHD. You have it. You don't have to feel anxious about that anymore." And ya'll, the way I just started to cry.
I have it. I have it, and I class as 'severe' ADHD.
All those times as a kid I got in trouble with teachers for forgetting things or not being able to focus. All of the, 'you do well in reading, you're smart enough to focus on this, too, don't be lazy, you just need to try, why don't you care?'. All of the projects I started but couldn't finish, the forgetting to reply to messages and texts from friends and losing friendships over it, the clutter I can never seem to manage, my shit attention span, the way I couldn't just get shit DONE, the failed attempts over and over and over to organize and task manage and I don't understand, I'm trying, I promise I'm trying, please, I'm trying, why isn't it working. All those years spent wondering why I was such a fuckup when everyone else appeared to breeze through projects and Normal Adult Tasks without forgetting or losing focus.
And now I know it wasn't my fault. That I was trying. That I did care. That I wasn't lazy. My brain just... doesn't work the usual way. I was doing the best I could with the wrong tools, because all my life I've needed a screwdriver and all I had was a hacksaw. And now, NOW I can finally go to to the doctor for medication, go to therapists who can help and I can finally get the right set of tools. I know now one of the reasons I'm so anxious thanks to this: "I've found that people with late diagnoses often struggle with guilt and shame, and a lot of internalized ableism, because they've dealt for years with people accusing them of being lazy or just not caring."
It is so, so gd validating, especially on top of the surprise diagnosis of 'oh yeah and you're on the spectrum and that's why you've always struggled with these other things!' It feels like there's this weight off my shoulders and it's amazing.
