Weekly Music Sketch 2016 #1

Gear Used: Akai MPK225, Ableton Live 9 Lite

Wanted to write something retrospective about a year of music sketches before starting another one, failed. Wanted to not put doing this one off until Monday night, aaand failed. But I kind of love it so it’s okay I guess. I wasn’t 100% sure I was going to do this again this year, and I think I might do it a little differently, but I think I’d miss it now if I gave it up. And that retrospective thing might still be on the way.

So the guy who wrote the song from Portal’s end credits did a version with Sara Quin on vocals, apparently back in 2011, and I somehow never knew it existed. Obviously it’s pretty much my favorite thing ever.

So I was going to skip this week since it felt like it should stop at 52 (though admittedly I’ve missed a few), but then I thought maybe it should be a bonus week and I should get all my gear out and do something special, but then I didn’t do that, so here’s this.
