You know, I kind of only just remembered that Tumblr was a thing…. *sighs*

I’ve been away from this for… I don’t even know how long, at this point.

Not sure if I want to stay for rp, either. Mostly because the majority of people I rp’d with are… as far as I can tell… no longer around. Most of the people I follow haven’t been active in 3-4 years.

Not to mention the fact that I had a LOT of main blogs and side blogs, most of which I don’t think I can log into anymore, either due to not remembering the email I used for them, or wondering whether those email accounts even still exist. Hmm…

Anyway, on the EXTREMELY off chance that anyone hops back on just to check things out… I guess I’ll be here.

[Continued]

A feeling of familiarity began to spread in her heart at his response. To know that he too had lost his world and was looking for a way to save it. A way that required the seed of the Tree of Mana. Martel knew how horrible it felt to lose your home, and all the people you loved and cared for. To travel alone with the burden of finding a way to save that world, even after the world had died. It was a terrible burden to bear alone.

Still, she found herself smiling despite all that, turning her gaze to the tree once more. “If you’re looking for a seed, then surely you have come far too soon.” She replied. “From what I know of this tree, it will not be mature enough to produce a seed for at least a millennia or two.”

The legends of Derris-Kharlan passed down by the Elves had claimed their tree was eons old when it started to wither away. The spirit of mana at the time gave the elves a seed to plant on a new world, and they had descended to Aselia. And the Kharlan Tree of old had been close to six thousand years old when they had tried to save it from the fate of its’ parent. Due to the nature of its’ withering, it had only been able to produce a single seed, when it should have had at least three or four to produce at that age.

Emerald eyes turned away from the tree, and Martel sighed. “However, you might not be as far off as you think.” She added, glancing at the man again.

“Dhaos, is it?” She asked, stepping away from the tree, and only slightly closer to him. “What is it you hope to achieve by obtaining a seed? I’m sure it’s for the revival of your world, of that I have no doubt. But for what reason do you seek it? Is it for yourself? Or are you trying to save the people you care about?”

There was no right or wrong answer for this question, at least not in her mind. She was merely curious as to his reasoning, why he was here.

A surprise attack had caught them all unawares, but as they tried to escape from their pursuers, they eventually got separated. Martel was left to trust in Kratos, that he would keep her brother safe. While she was clearly in the care of Yuan, someone she had grown to care for greatly. He’d been rather distant at first, but now he was definitely part of their group, and she trusted him.

Though she had been incredibly stubborn about continuing on when the storm suddenly rolled in. A flash lit up the sky, and before she knew it, Yuan had grabbed hold of her and pulled her over to the cliff wall. Part of the rock jutted out overhead, creating a sort of shelter that protected against the rain. It wasn’t as good as having a full shelter, and her clothes were already starting to soak through, but it was currently all they had.

She could see that Yuan’s clothes were soaked, as well. But there was nowhere else to go, and a fire would not be able to light in this heavy rain.

This was certainly not anything she ever foresaw herself getting into. She’d been through situations like this with Mithos, to be sure, but never without him. Never with someone like Yuan.

Martel wrapped her arms around herself as tightly as she could managed and sat a short distance from Yuan. She wasn’t sure how comfortable he’d be with her sitting close, though that would be better to conserve body heat, she feared being the one to suggest it. Even the thought alone made her cheeks flush, and she had to rub at her face for a moment, trying not to let him see.

“I guess we’ll have to wait out this storm, huh?” She asked with a gentle smile, just hoping to lighten the mood. 

Was this awkward? 

Yes, yes it was very awkward. Martel hadn’t spent any time alone with a man in her life, but she didn’t really mind being here with Yuan. It was… sort of confusing.

          Kratos’ insides clenched together at the thought. they already had the Chosen’s ever-growing entourage traveling such a monster-infested road. the thought of blowing his cover with this GIRL by their side only made things worse. should any of the Desians see her, or even Lord Remiel at the Seal of Water, the charade would be over. 

           Of course… there was no immediate proof that this was Martel. Merely a lookalike with a similar name. like Mithos, Martel was an extremely common name for you girls, sometimes twisted and warped into names Marta or Martelia. He regained his composure and turned to the professor with a cold shrug.

            ❝ so long as she doesn’t get in the way, it’s fine by me. we have already spent too much time rectifying the potion fiasco with that FAKE CHOSEN. ❞  

               Lloyd almost immediately tensed, looking up as if STRUCK by an idea. ’ hey, that’s right. we’ve still gotta catch those guys before they steal something else in our name! ’

               Genis shook his head in disappointment, hands lifting in an exasperated shrug.  ’ don’t you mean in Colette’s name? ’

                                                     — ’ y-yeah. of course that’s what i meant. ’

              ❝ after the world regeneration, they’ll be exposed as fakes and will have to repent before the Church of Martel. until then, the BEST thing that we can do is press forward and continue releasing the seals. ❞  Kratos interjected, more restless than usual. he intentionally kept his eyes off of the girl, pushing on ahead as if to lead them further into the mountainous valley.    ❝ either way, we’ve taken enough of a detour. ❞

“Well, that settles that, then.” Raine sighed, turning her attention to Martel.

Martel could only smile in response, as it was easier than anything else. Though she did take notice of the mention about the Church. The Church of Martel... the religion that didn’t have any place in her village, yet her parents named her after the Goddess.

But if the Chosen was among their group, then that was obviously important. Her parents would want to know that the Chosen had started their journey. She glanced around at all of them, quickly figuring that the blonde was the Chosen.

The auburn haired man pushed ahead, and Martel smiled as she followed after the others. Though the younger half-elf was watching her for a bit. It wasn’t unusual to run into other half-elves around, but she had been alone, and wasn’t the slightest bit afraid of traveling alone. She rarely went into Palmacosta, so she rarely had to worry about humans who would treat her poorly. He was most likely curious about that.

They had probably walked for about an hour when a monster charged out of the nearby trees. Without any hesitation, Martel stepped into the path between the monster and the blonde girl, Colette. The bottom end of her staff struck the ground and a barrier rose up around them as the brunet, Lloyd, took care of the beast.

“...” Martel sighed when it’s body dissolved into mana. She truly didn’t like fighting, or watching things die, but if she was going to travel with these people for any period of time, she may as well help out.

Quietly, she lowered the barrier and walked over to Lloyd, emerald eyes staring at him for a moment.

“Uh... um, is... is something wrong?” Lloyd asked.

Martel shook her head and lifted one hand to the boy’s chest, a soft green glow emanating from her palm. She was checking to see if he was hurt, but she didn’t find any damage, and soon lowered her hand to her side, and smiled instead.

“W-what was that about?” Lloyd asked this time.

“I believe she was checking to see if you were wounded, Lloyd.” Raine replied.

“You’re a healer, too?” Genis asked.

Martel nodded and gestured at her pack before writing on the ground. ‘ I was collecting herbs to bring back home. But we should continue onward. ‘ She could use some of them to make curing bottles, and a few were useful for making gels. The valley wasn’t too much farther, so she smiled and gestured for them to continue on.

With one of the hunters from the village traveling with her, Martel had been allowed to wander further beyond the borders of Alfheim than before. The hunter in question was a trusted family friend, and she was glad he had agreed to come along, or she wouldn’t be out this far at all. There were just certain herbs she needed to find that couldn’t be found in the Palmacosta region, and her search for them had brought her out towards Lake Umacy.

A quick glance around the lake had revealed the herbs she needed, and also a strange sight, a unicorn trapped beneath the water.

Unfortunately, there was nothing Martel could do to help it. Even if she had the capability of holding her breath long enough, she couldn’t move the logs holding prisoner without help. So she simply set about collecting the herbs, though she couldn’t help the way she worriedly glanced at the water every now and then.

“Who’s there?!” Jalon called out.

Martel glanced up to see a young woman -- half-elf -- and a group of people not far off behind her. With a sigh and a smile, Martel gathered the basket she was using to carry the herbs and walked over to Jalon. A hand placed gently on his shoulder and he calmed immediately. Her staff was currently strapped to her back so she could freely carry the basket and still pick more herbs or flowers.

Jalon still frowned though, and glanced at Martel, as if to gauge what she was thinking. She knew that was hard to do, considering she hadn’t been able to speak for years. No one ever knew what was on her mind now, and she couldn’t communicate easily. Though she had taken to using her staff to write in the dirt many times.

“There are not usually many travelers in this area.” Jalon finally spoke, noting that Martel nodded, he turned his attention to the female in front of them. “Especially not in such a moderate sized group. What are you here for?”

Though she couldn’t say it, Martel could feel a strong connection to Undine. Looking carefully at the group a little ways off, she realized the feeling was coming from a dark-haired girl. Emerald eyes drifted from the girl to the half-elf closer to them, a warm smile on her face.

Alright, so old drafts from the sideblog have been pulled over here. I’ll work on Martel’s drafts later and over the weekend, same as with all my active blogs. I don’t plan on posting any finished drafts until I complete at least half of them for Martel and Kratos, both.

Martel now has 15 drafts, and Kratos has well over 20, so... xP

Not Insane

Sterile, white walls and white ceiling, a room plain and devoid of colorful furnishings. This was where Martel had spent the past several months of her life, ever since she remembered her past, since she remembered the truth of this world. The Creators were up to something horrible, and because she now remembered everything, they had to keep her away from other people.

Most of her days were usually spent under heavy sedation, strapped down to the plush white bed. Barely able to move, to think. Those days always came at the cost of speaking her mind, of refusing to ‘get better’. From claiming that this reality was twisted and false.

It was true. It was all true. She knew the truth now.

But the Creators didn’t want anyone to know. And she was kept here until she either gave in and stopped talking about it, or she’d be kept here indefinitely. There were others in the ‘Fooji Clinic’ as well, she knew. Sometimes she could hear them screaming, just as she was sure they heard her when she was forcefully sedated.

Then there were the days when she’d been quiet long enough that she was allowed some freedom. Today happened to be one of those days.

Martel blinked emerald eyes as the door to her room clicked as the magnetic key was swiped through the locking mechanism. She looked away towards the high window as Pronyma walked into the room with two guards, one of which was carrying a canvas, the other carrying paint supplies.

“How about you make another painting for your loves ones?” Pronyma suggested, lips tugging upwards in a smile.

For her loved ones… yeah, right. She was certain none of her artworks ever left this building. Still, the chance to do anything other than sit around in her room all day, straining to stare out a window, was better than nothing. Otherwise she would sing, but the guards didn’t seem to allow anyone to be happy for long.

Martel took a deep breath and nodded as Pronyma closed the door. They were going to stay in the room and watch her, just in case she tried to sneak something to break out of the room. As if she could do that.

She decided to just paint something with a message. If she could play it off, maybe Pronyma would get cocky and take it out of the clinic. Martel had overheard that she had a second job as a therapist, apparently one of her patients was Martel’s younger brother, Mithos. With any luck, the painting would end up in her office, and would spark a memory for him.

Hours later, the end result was a small scene of a familiar place for both her and Mithos. Subtle hints and clues had been painted in, things only he would recognize, and even some clues that could – hopefully – spark a memory or two for Yuan as well.

When she was finished, she frowned at the artwork, pausing before paiting her signature, and then lowering her brush. Without a word, she tossed the paintbrush across the room, just before reaching for the canvas, as if to throw that as well. She was grabbed by the guards, and dragged to the bed, butshe stopped struggling immediately, glaring at the floor.

“What’s wrong dear?” Pronyma asked.

“It’s not right. No one in my family would even recognize that as my art.” She replied, putting on a show of being even more depressed. “It’d be better off as trash…”

Pronyma looked at the piece, looking thoughtful. “I thnk it looks lovely. A masterful work. You really want this to be thrown away?”

Martel didn’t even look up at it. She had to force herself to remember what she was doing this for. “That’s all it is. Who would want it anyway?”

“Well, I think it’s excellent.” Pronyma drew closer to the painting, scrutinizing it closely. “I personally love this piece. Would it bother you terribly if I keep it?”

Martel scoffed. “Do what you want with it. It won’t matter either way…” Tears prickled at the corners of her eyes. “Please, leave. I’d like to be alone.”

Pronyma smiled at her as she took the painting. “Of course, dear.” She nodded at the guards, who released Martel’s arms and gathered the art supplies before leaving the room.

“Lady Pronyma, we chould destroy that painting.” Martel heard one of the guards say, just barely, beyond the thck door.

“No. I do rather like this one. I’m going to keep it.”

Martel waited until they were gone, then let herself fall on the bed. She buried her face in the pillow, but it was only so the security camera couldn’t see the smile on her face.

AU: False Reality

Okay, so the idea is that there is a mysterious race of beings called The Creators. They first appeared in the world and claimed to have created all things, but when they revealed a hidden motive (to control all aspects of life, and essentially control the universe), people fought back. So they enacted a spell that forced everyone to sleep, and they warped reality, even altering the memories of everyone so they wouldn’t remember The Creators.

People awoke in a modern world, believing this was the world they always lived in. But, there are some rare few that were unaffected by the memory alteration altogether. So The Creators ‘created’ a new sub-race from themselves called The Enforcers. The Enforcers are usually sent out to stop people from revealing the truth to others, usually knocking them out and bringing them to ‘clinics’ that resemble mental health centers.

The people brought there are kept under constant surveillance (sometimes even kept under heavy sedation), and security in these places is usually very tight. There are no known records of break-ins, or break-outs. There are five known ‘clinics’, each run by one of the Desian Grand Cardinals, who also have no memory of their ‘previous life’.

In the case that the Enforcers are unable to subdue their target, another sub-race known as The Erasers are sent to ‘erase’ the problem. They have the power to erase people from existence, as well as erase the memories and emotions connected to them, so people don’t question or mourn their sudden disappearance. Young children (typically toddlers) are the only ones unaffected by this memory alteration.

For people with altered memories, the more they follow the same path as their ‘previous life’, the more they feel a sense of deja vu. And the more that happens, the more they start to remember, until the illusion breaks. At which point, those who have awakened their true memories can see The Creators for what they are, while the rest of the world sees an illusion.

Even with the illusions active, The Creators take on very generic names while they pretend to be mortal, because they otherwise have no names at all. Appearance wise, The Creators are extremely ambiguous, it is impossible to tell if they are one gender or another. They have pure white skin, white or gray hair, and gray eyes. They have no distinguishing traits to tell them apart from one another. Their numbers are limited, though they are powerful.

I’m not entirely sure if I want to make this blog specific, or if I should ask if people would be interested in adopting this au for a sort of, super casual group rp thing. So I’m also looking for some opinions.

When he’s truly, genuinely happy, when we don’t need to worry about anything and just enjoy time together… that’s when he has the most wonderful laughter…”

“Profession? I’ve always wanted to better myself with healing. I honestly never thought of another path for myself… but, I suppose I wouldn’t mind trying to be a florist. Just seeing flowers growing wild in nature is a passion of mine, but to grow them myself would also be wonderful.”

“Any profession that requires killing, or fighting. Or even the general harming of others.”

"I would just want people to remember that despite my race, I was always kind to others. Always offered a chance, two, even to people who supposedly didn’t deserve it. That, even with all the hate that’s been directed at me, I always remained positive, remained determined to help others and see that we’re not all that different. I would… I would want people to remember my sacrifices, and hope that by learning from my example, they could try to help make the world a better place. Discrimination won’t end without the efforts of the people. All people.”
