Feel free to submit multiple characters, but please don’t spam the same character repeatedly. Please note that I will not be using any of the semifinalists from this round (c!Techno, Caduceus, Lilith, Luffy, Jon, SpongeBob, and Andhera), but if you had a favorite who was eliminated earlier that you feel deserved a second shot, go ahead. This poll was heavily inspired by Jimmy having to be taken out of the doomed by the narrative tournament because of how mean people got, the harassment going on in the @transgenderswagcompetition , and every time I got excited to submit a character only to then realize the op said no DSMP or MCYT

i just want 2 say thank you for including techno like. at all. most bracket runners and people in general really seem to have a hard time separating smp characters from the people that played them and either forbid them from being submitted or get really bitchy when they end up included even though they have no trouble at all separating a dnd character from the person playing them. techno, both the person and his character, meant a lot to me when i was more into the dsmp, and both of them still do honestly. it was always really comforting seeing people talk about their ace headcanons for the character as an asexual myself. so. yeah!! thank you :]

of course! we have two excellent roleplay characters up against each other right now -- c!techno was actually submitted by a close friend of mine and I think he absolutely deserves to be here. he's important to a lot of ace people and I'm happy to celebrate that :)

He has three brain cells and uses them to issue the most brutal burns you’ve ever heard in your life. He talks to animals but doesn’t actually use the in-universe spell to let him communicate with them, so he just scolds a frog for eating the fly he was following because he thought the fly was leading him on the right path (it was not.) The frog does not understand him. He does not understand the frog.

if i may interject with ace love

c!technoblade is a character that has helped so many people discover their sexuality. the number of people who have discovered their orientation through my c!techno fanfics alone is more than i can count, and i’m just one fandom creator. whether or not he’s canon, the impact of the headcanon is unmistakable. whether it be through writing, art, or headcanons between friends, so many people regard c!techno as an aroace icon.

not because he hates orphans, by the way. because his character showed many fans that someone can love others with such intense passion without it being romantic love. someone can promise another the entire world without it needing to end in anything but friendship or a qpr. c!techno isn’t just a block—he’s a roleplay character with incredible dimension, just like a dnd character. he’s a badass and the comic relief all at once, and he means a lot to a lot of people—and will continue to do so even after his creator has passed.

I'd second this. He, as a character, is never shown to be any type of romantic/sexual situation, which is actually saying something for the Dream SMP. Along with this, he is shown to be one of the most fiercely caring and loving characters within the whole story. He takes in and protects his enemy out of a remembrance of a time when they were friends and a faint hope they can actually cooperate, actively seeks out people he cares about, and risked his life and limb for the sake of fulfilling an unenforced life debt.

Please be kind to each other in my notes. This is a fun, silly tumblr poll that I started to celebrate characters that people like me can see themselves in, not an excuse to tear down people/fandoms you find irritating. It is especially not an excuse to tear down a guy who, to the best of my knowledge, was a kind and beloved person who put a lot of work and dedication into writing his character.

At least in this humble aroace’s opinion, every remaining character from the last couple rounds has been more than worthy of taking home the crown, and c!Techno is no exception. Please think before being needlessly rude, and please spend like. 30 seconds on google before throwing unfounded accusations at a dead man in my replies.

And to the vast majority of Cad fans in my notes who have been nothing but delightful and kind, shoutout to you and your boy! I’m rooting for him as well 💜
