I FINALLY decided to do an actual intro post, soooo-
Hi, I’m Azura! Or Bri, whichever.
I’m in my 20’s, she/her, and love Pokemon! It’s one of my main fixations right now.
I have a lot of fandom interests, which is why I have a lot of tumblr sideblogs. 😅 Which are…under the cut bcs there’s a lot. (places you can find me are also under the cut)
@ni-no-kuni-fangirl , a Ni No Kuni blog! Mostly the first game but I might talk about the second and very rarely the movie.
@fanficwritersunite , which was SUPPOSED to be my main except I made this acc first and had no idea it would be my main 😅 anyways it’s for multifandom things I don’t have a blog for and just random stuff.
@rikuissogay , a Kingdom Hearts blog. Mostly SoRiku but there’s other stuff too.
@greatwitchluzura , an Owl House blog.
@percylovesblue , a Riordanverse blog.
@matchmakerpinkiepie , a MLP: FIM and Equestria Girls blog, though I’ll mostly talk about the show.
@pool-of-styx , my Hades game blog. Just the first one, I haven’t played the second yet so no spoilers please!
@another-great-sage , my nnk oc blog.
@the-traumatizing-digital-circus , an TADC blog.
@themoneybin , my Ducktales 2017 & less often, Ducktales 1987 shows blog,
And @crowleysucksathisjob , my twisted wonderland blog.
Yes I have a lot of sideblogs. No I didn’t expect that either. I roleplay for these fandoms as well.
Other places to find me…which is less than up there:
-Mairin says in TSME that she wants to catch and train pokemon. She wants to battle. And in XYZ, she watches Serena battle while in awe of her, even calling her"amazing." If anything, watching Serena would've made Mairin want to get better at battling even more, to the point where she can beat Alain and Charizard.
-Mairin was sidelined in the XYZ Flare plotline. Serena was tasked with protecting her and Bonnie, all while Chespie was inside the giant rock. I doubt Mairin wants to feel powerless, useless, and helpless like that again so she would definitely train her pokemon and befriend more. (I'm still dying on the hill that Chespie doesn't evolve because of all of the energy he absorbed).
-I know that Mairin ends up helping out Professor Sycamore with Alain, researching mega evolution. That makes sense because she deserves to spend time with Alain while everything with Team Flare is over. But I can't picture her working in a lab full time after XYZ - Mairin is stubborn and adventurous. She wanted to keep traveling in TSME, but with Alain and Mairin loved going to Hoenn and seeing the region. Maybe during their research trips, Mairin catches and trains more pokemon and challenges the gyms if they're nearby and gets her badges. Working in a lab was never her dream; she wants to use mega evolution.
-Honestly, after having a couple of people protecting her (Alain, Serena, Steven, and Professor Sycamore), she definitely wants to get strong enough to protect herself. After everything that happened with Team Flare, she wants to be prepared in case something bad like that happens again.
-I like to think that eventually, she would get strong enough to get all eight badges and challenge the league. But halfway through she realizes that she doesn't want to be champion, on the off chance she wins. She wants to have time for herself and to help out with research while still battling. She doesn't want the responsibility of looking after a whole region. That's when she realizes that being a Gym Leader or even a member of the Elite Four is what she wants. They battle challengers and still have time to do their own stuff and they come together when the region is in danger.
-Conveniently, Ramos would probably retire due to his age and Mairin, who had expressed interest in becoming a gym leader, would get offered the role. Coumarine City is a route away from Lumiose City, which makes it even better. Mairin says yes immediately - she can battle with Chespie who's a grass type and she'll be near her big bro. It's perfect.
-Mairin would consider other regions before Ramos's retirement though, even if it means leaving Alain and Professor Sycamore, so she could achieve her goal. Thankfully it all works out for her!
Aside from Trip's flashbacks (our first glimspe of him is in episode 31, although it's through rose sepia-tinted memories), you meet him proper in BW! 52 (often listed as 54 online because many sites still count the perpetually postponed two-parter that was supposed to be episodes 23 and 24... the rosy image is dashed quite thoroughly in that one, with his more laidback approach to training and his womanizing flaw, but by the end of it, after Trip already left, Ash and friends see how good Alder is with understanding Pokemon's feelings and helping them), aaaand he plays a big role in the Junior Cup, Bulbapedia lists them as BW episodes 90 to 93 [but the second season got a rebranding in Japan, so you'll find it as a separate series online typically, Best Wishes! Season 2 episodes 6-9!] this means ! Trip finally gets the answers he sought back in 52 and we get to see Alder battle seriously (and it probably helps that Alder wasn't sleep-deprived from wandering all night like in episode 52... ^^;;)
I wanted to see Wally in the anime. Advanced Generation would've been a good moment to have him bc Ash didn't have any rivals up until the pokemon league. Watching Wally grow from a frail, sick and shy boy, to someone who can keep up in battle with the protagonist would've been nice to see and a refreshing addition in a sea of extroverted boys. In XY he could've been brought in for ORAS promotion, but he was ignored once again. Lowkey I'm hoping the next anime protagonist burrows some traits from this character. I think it is unlikely to happen because it may not do well with their target demographic, but one could dream.
