I don't know how to love in halves. If I give you my heart, I give you the ghosts, the galaxies, and everything in between.
“Getting over it doesn’t mean forgetting it. It just means reducing the pain to a tolerable level, a level that doesn’t destroy you.”
— Kevin Brooks
“Trust yourself. You’ve survived a lot. And you’ll survive whatever is coming.”

Staying in a relationship for over four years, giving 100 percent everyday, especially when there is zero reciprocity, is beyond exhausting. Trying to build a future with someone who treats you like a disposable item will erode your soul faster than giving up on your dreams. I stayed because I kept believing and hoping that she’d change. This is my karma. I stayed through the consequences of my own failures. I stayed to feel the same pain that I’d caused in my previous relationships.
Knowing the mistreatment, I held on. I catered. I adjusted. I burned bridges in my own life and sacrificed a lot of my dreams. I wanted a future to grow in an environment of love. Even when I had zero, I still gave it my all.
One of the deepest forms of intimacy is wanting someone to experience the world the way it feels to you.
The eager "look at this."
The "you'd love this place."
The "listen to this part."
The "isn't it beautiful?"
Loving someone often sounds like an invitation.

“Please don’t expect me to always be good and kind and loving. There are times when I will be cold and thoughtless and hard to understand.”
— Sylvia Plath
