Lan and Moiraine work so well together because Moiraine is horribly repressed and mentally ill but in a self-aware way where she's come to the completely logical conclusion that she's irredeemable while Lan has simply convinced himself that he has no emotions so there's nothing to repress :) he's so fine :) he just has an inescapable duty to die for the person or cause he's dedicated his life to, that's normal stuff :)
