A whimper rolled over Callum’s lips and he immediately stopped when the other guy raised his fist and voice. He was running on auto pilot, pur instinct controlling his actions and thinking. Blue eyes were widened with shock, panic, pain —— probably anyone could tell him what to do right now and he would comply.
At first he shook his head cause, damn, he couldn’t sign at all. But nodding and shaking his head were easy, as long as that was all the guy wanted from him. So he nodded fiercely and curled his fingers into fists. Alpha. Brother… his brothers! Another shiver ran down his spine and made him shake like a leave in the wind, his eyes losing focus as he looked over the boy’s shoulder in the direction of his house.
He didn’t want to touch him. Tavi had always been touch aversive, especially when it came to people he didn’t know. Being a werewolf and part of a pack had changed that AND hyper increased it. When he was with his packmates, Tavi could now curl up with them without discomfort, but now, when it came to strangers, just the smallest gestures seemed to overwhelm his senses.
But––– Tavi reached out and curled his fingers around their wrist. “Okay, come on. We have to RUN. The hunters? They’re still out here.” And Tavi couldn’t trust his hearing to know WHERE those hunters were, so that meant they had to go, now. “Come on.” He tugged his arm until they stumbled forward and Tavi continued increasing their pace until they managed a brisk jog back toward his alpha’s shop.
