Keeping this storm inside of me
This time, let me take you to Tromsø, ‘the Paris of Norway.’ Located in the most northern region of the country, Tromsø is the perfect place to watch the Aurora Borealis. The city itself is kissed by the midsummer sun and shrouded in darkness once it leaves. When our night starts, theirs has never ended, but when our night starts, lights will dance in theirs.Â
There is no famous music for this part, no special memory - how could there be, since I haven’t seen this dream yet either. But for now, let’s pretend to be in the Paris of the north, looking at the sky, watching the lights dance among the stars.Â
Darling, enjoy the peace that lights instill. I invite you to Tromsø, where winter never stops.
Behold: my project.Â
This is Ronda, a city in Spain. You are looking at the Plaza Duquesa de Parcent, from the street that carries the same name. In the little park that you can see right in front of you is a fountain, a small market, some orange trees. In the far corner, behind the white building, is a small café that sells the saltiest Serrano ham sandwiches you have ever tasted. Their coffee, though, is really good (according to my dad).Â
When I was there a few years ago, a man with a guitar sat down on the fountain in the middle and played the song that is still my favorite guitar piece ever. Asturias, from Isaac Albeniz. It starts at 2:44. Before that, you’ll hear Explosion de Amor played by Dennis Fermin. Additionally, as you let yourself submerge in the warmth of Spain, you’ll notice a calm sea rolling into your ears as well.Â
Darling, enjoy the peace that rural Spain can bring you. I invite you to Ronda, the famous city of the Puente Nuevo.
