I can’t continue this blog or any other. I’m sorry for anyone who is currently RPing with me, was looking forward to it or just followed me. This place has nothing left for me but memories. I don’t know if I return. If you want to know more read under the cut, but you’ll find no relief. This is my final decision and even if I return, I’ll have changed.

In need of a title

As Agasa finally stopped in front of his house, an exhausted sigh left his throat. He stopped the engine, got out of his car and closed the door more loudly than he usually did. He had been on a meeting with other inventors for the last two weeks, which proved to be a rather disappointing affair. Most of them presented totally useless things no one would ever need, some of them were total amateurs without any technical knowledge. And as if that wasn't bad enough, his car refused to drive far from any gas station when he drove home. He should have been here by morning, now the sun was already setting.

He glanced at Kudou's house, thinking about going to Subaru-san to thank him for looking after Ai-chan, but he was simply too tired. The man was considerate enough that he'd understand. Maybe there was even some soup left in the kitchen. At that thought his stomach started grumbling. Hopefully there was some soup. He hurriedly got his luggage out of the car that started him disappointing more and more, then walked towards his house.

"I'm home", he called as he entered, but if she was in her laboratory she probably wouldn't hear him anyways. Maybe she wasn't even at home. Maybe Kudou had got her involved in a case. Again.

He left his luggage at the door, not caring that Ai-chan might be angry about it and immediately headed for the kitchen. No pot on the oven. Maybe there was something in the fridge? As he opened it, his face fell. Nothing in there but a few vegetables. Could this day become any worse?, he thought and sat down on a chair. That trip was a waste of time.

PSA - Revival?

Sorry to disappoint all of my followers (out of whatever reason there even came new followers while my absence; thank you for that), but at the moment I simply can't RP very much as Hakase, since the manga is simply so frustrating that I have no motivation to keep up with it. I'm pretty sure, some RPers in this community could write a better story for DC.

Also, I should make more icons, but that's too much effort at the moment and as some of you might know, I write a novel and thus am more fond of words than pictures anyways. So yeah I might not even use icons in all of my replies anymore.

However, in my opinion Hakase is a character that was designed to support, so in case you need something from him for a certain thread you're playing, just come to me, tell me and I'll gladly do that with you.

I also have somewhat positive news. I will definitely start one new thread and try to keep that one going. There's a rather new, precious Haibara Blog (if you haven't done so already, follow her now :D) that absolutely needs some interaction with Hakase. So you'll definitely read that thread until we both go on hiatus again.

Hey guys,

As you’ll have noticed, I am not really active lately. Neither on Tumblr nor on Skype. It’s just like 24hrs aren’t enough per day. I actually have holidays, but am working more than when I got lectures. Now I also started an internship at my university, which will also consume some time. So Tumblr hasn’t the highest priority right now.

However, I don’t want to drop it completely. This means. I will finish the current RPs (aren’t that many anyways), but I won’t come up with ideas for new threads. If you have something you definitely want to play with me, tell me and I’ll probably do it (just don’t expect several replies per day). It’s the same if you need one of my characters for something, tell me and we’ll manage something.

I also wont look at my dash all the time, so if there’s something you want me to see, make sure to tag me (keep in mind that tagging in reblogs doesn’t work or it does work but doesn’t give me notifications)or send me a message (no need to tell me, when you replied to a RP, I’ll see that).

Short version: I’m less active. Tell me if you need me (shouldn’t happen xD)

"I think so, but it’s a garbled mess. Though I can glean basics of what I’m dealing with of the technology around me, I can’t send or edit anything yet, unless I’m planning on thoroughly corrupting whatever is done. And I can’t quite manage to look at the code itself, which would be useful." Subaru put that phone away and scratched the back of his head.

"I won’t abuse it, professor. Though you surely are aware of what my specialty with computers is by now. It tends to fall in a grey area." Namely, hacking. As in everything that had a wireless signal or was connected to the internet in some way. It was a tad dangerous for him to do other types of hacking because they would require him being there and having contact with the specific device. With how he was in hiding, that was unwise.

"'A garbled mess' is still way more than people normally can do with nothing but their mind and I'm sure that in a few days, you'll get the knack for it."

Then the professor dropped into his chair, staring at his screens for a moment, with all those weird lines of code, that made absolutely no sense anymore. Why was it always like this? He was the inventor, so shouldn't he be able to control his inventions?

"Just a shame that you aren't yet able to fully control that thing. Might have helped me with sorting this hell of a mess out..."

Subaru frowned. It was useful, yes. Very useful, especially considering one of his specialties. Dangerous, as he had no way of removing it and they could go haywire. Very useful if it didn’t, though…

"I am not sure." He thought for a moment, focusing on his phone in his pocket, the one meant for contact with only a few people, trying to send a message. It vibrated in his pocket and he pulled it out, flipping it open. All of it was jumbled characters and utter nonsense. "Mmm, that wasn’t what I expected."

"That's impressive", the professor exclaimed, "did you really just contact your phone like that?"

If that was true, this device would solve so many problems. But it was also very dangerous. In a time where nearly everything is connected via the internet, such a possibility can change everything.

"You definitely should keep trying this, maybe it just needs some more time to find out how to properly translate your neural signals into bits and bytes", the professor said with gleaming eyes, a second later he became serious again, "but you absolutely must promise that you'll not abuse this."

Not that the professor could control it or even find out if Subaru would use the device to do something illicit. But this way his conscience was somewhat at ease.

"Ah, not so well. Those device I made are really starting to get out of control."

He held back that bit of information where he ate tons of chocolate due to the stress.

"Ah…" Subaru sat down, noting the package. Princess wouldn’t be pleased, but that was neither here nor there. The fact that this technology was uncontrolled now was exceedingly risky. Who knows what changes and adaptations could occur? (Some may be good, but others could be very bad.)

The professor held the scanner against Subaru's head. It took some time until he found the signal, but eventually he got one.

"Hm... there's good and bad news", he explained while sliding the scanner into a pocket, "The bad news is: I've got no idea how to get those bots out of your head. The good news is: Thev haven't done any damage to your brain ... yet."

The next instant, the scanner made a beeping noise that became more and more distorted before it died. When Agasa looked at it, he realised the system was erased.

"And as it seems, it starts to interact with the electronics in it's environment instead of just reading them. Damn ... ah sorry. Can you control that?"

Subaru nodded and followed, frowning. “Reminds me of an arms race, almost. Still, I am curious about why it would be spreading. Any particular reason why or is it the natural changes of the programs as they encounter new data through use?”

"An arms race?", the professor frowned while searching for the scanner. It was just a little tool and had to be somewhere in a drawer.... "let's hope it won't turn out like one, those things have a huge potential. Haha! Got you!"

The scanner lay beneath some empty cookie packages, he'd have to dispose of without Ai finding out.

"They are supposed to kind of evolve, but they definitely were not supposed to change to an extent where I can't control it anymore. Now if you'd please sit down", Agasa said and pointed to a chair.

"Understandable, professor." Subaru stepped in and frowned slightly, thinking for a moment. Okay, so what he’d placed was still here. He rubbed the bridge of his nose. "How have the other experimental pieces worked?"

The professor's face darkened at the last question.

"It seems the effect is spreading to all the devices. I can't execute any commands in the server, so all I can do is watching the data and sending people messages. But even that becomes harder and harder, since the patterns start to change fast than I can decrypt them."

Agasa was not really surprised that the devices were changing and improving on their own, after all that was his intention. But he'd never imagined that he'd lose control like this.

"Please follow me to the lab, maybe I can do a scan to see what yourdevice is doing in your brain."

After dealing with the situation of being cuffed to Gin for several days, he figured it wisest to go to Agasa as soon as possible regarding the experimental technology. There were already hints that something was odd, as he was starting to have a creeping headache just behind his eyes. He waited outside the door after knocking, perhaps a bit more ominous than usual because of the prolonged contact with a member of the Black Organization.

"Oh Subaru-san, please come in", Agasa said and stepped to the side, "it's good that you're finally here. I'm terribly sorry for the problem, but it's better if that happens now then later when there are hundreds or thousands of people affected."

The professor was very worried indeed. The data had suddenly started to change their pattern and it was really difficult to find out where that came from. However, in the meantime, Agasa was able to find the cause.

One morning, while you were preparing breakfast, your doorbell rings. Upon opening the door a courier gives you a CD case and disappears without giving you any further information. It was an ordinary CD without cover, in hasty writing there stood : Invitation

Curiously, you decide to give it a try and put the CD in your drive. After some seconds of humming while your computer reads the information, a display pops up.

You have been invited to take part in my first beta test. In the following weeks you will receive a prototype which needs lots of testing to be done. If you do not wish to participate, please send me a mail. If you’d like to participate but didn’t get an invitaion, please send me a mail, too. ((While my main fandom is Detective Conan, OCs and other fandoms are more than welcome as well))

How it works:

If you wish to help science, please choose a number from 1 to 20 and type it at the end of this screen. A complex, randomized algorithm will consecutively choose one of my inventions which will be sent to you once the beta test begins. The tests will most likely last one week. However, if the devices can’t gather eough information in that time they’ll keep working until their job is finished. Thus, if you’re busy, you can still participate without problems.

Guidelines/Rules:

Please accept or decline until February, 23rd. According to the plan, the testing will start on February, 24th.

If your number is already taken, a randomized one will be choosen for you.

If all 20 numbers should be taken, choose another one up to 99. I’ve got some more inventions which are somewhat unstable and I also can send the same device twice in order to garther more information.

Make sure to test your devices to the fullest. While I will send you a note about the functions of your device, there will also be features you should find out on your own.

Getting in touch with other testers is allowed, however it’s quite unknown how the different devices will react if they get in touch with each other.

I will try to send regular updates about the information I gathered from your testing. It’s very likely that the device will evolve. They are made so that they try to improve themselves (e.g. finding minor bugs and solving them; enhancing their inherent ability etc).

I’m not responsible for any mental or physical harm that arises from this testing.

Beta Tests (Very important!)

Dear people,

This is just a friendly reminder. Soon the testing begins (February, 24th). So whoever still wants to participate, but has not gotten an invitation yet, please tell me. I'm really looking forward to as many of you as possible. At the moment, there are eleven participant while I have 20 unique devices prepared. So feel free to ask me for an invitation. Absolutely everyone is welcome to participate.

I know that there are not many informations, so you can't really tell what's gonna happen if you participate. I can tell you this much. Every device has unique abilities. They all have the possibility to change our society, but until I know whether they are working properly I can't make them publically available. Furthermore, the devices will collect information and improve themselves. They are all connected to my server, so that you'll be notified when something changes.

So don't be shy. Just ask me and I'll invite you as soon as possible.
