Jedediah: “But Gigantor ain’t too happy about it.”

Octavius: “No, he is not. One might even say… Jealous?”

Jedediah: “Same with that no good knight. He’s been hanging around with Ahk and getting a little too friendly.”

Octavius: “But alas, Ahkmenrah seems oblivious to both of their affections.”

Jedediah: “Boy needs to learn how to read signals.”

Octavius: “He’s not the only one.”

Imagine the exhibits experience their death again on the date they died. For example, Octavius died 19th August, and every year on that day/night he becomes very ill and loses a lot of blood, it looks like he is bleeding to death. Jed sits frustrated next to his bed and holds his hand the whole night. Teddy experiences the pains of embolism on 6 January again, while Wea takes care of him. Ahk can’t speak for the whole night and sounds like he is about to choke and throws up blood. Larry comforts him with songs and doesn’t leave his side till dawn.

The next night they just walk around like nothing happend.

Think about this

Whenever the tablet’s magic is not in effect, the wax figures, statues, preserved animals, etc. at the museum freeze in their places, but Ahkmenrah is a mummy, very old and very decomposed. If the tablet’s magic isn’t in effect, we can assume that Ahkmenrah is dead. Poor Ahk dies every night.

This is confirmed in the third film when we can actually see him dying and rotting as his tablet loses it’s power.

However….

In the Smithsonian, when Larry goes into the archive during the day, he finds Kahmunrah and his soldiers frozen in the middle of attacking the group from New York.

Kahmunrah isn’t dead. He’s just frozen.

Could it be that the Kahmunrah Larry met at the Smithsonian was simply a wax figure? If so, that would mean that Kahmunrah’s mummy, aka the real Kahmunrah, is still out there somewhere, maybe in a different museum, or maybe just locked in his sarcophagus at the Smithsonian.

Ahk laughed and uncovered her eyes, kissing her cheek, “You are amazing, and correct~”

Izzy giggled and turned around to face him. “Long time not sse, my dear Pharaoh… How have you been? And please don’t say stuck in a box… Even it might be true… Because that would be so sad…” She looked at him and smiled.

Ahk smiled, shaking his head, "I'm sorry for being away for such a long time, I had to go to a different museum for an exhibition there."

The fact that Ahkmenrah stuttered “Guardian of Brooklyn” during his final goodbye to Larry will never cease to pain me.

Third instalment of the series (even though it should be the first): fem!Ahkmenrah

I’m not even going to ask what a female variant of “Ahkmenrah” would be.

I seriously considered drawing her wearing her rightful crown, but I really wanted to draw one of those pretty egiptian wigs. She has a crown and wears it often enough, I assure you.

Ahkmenrah will always have a special place in my heart, because, while I first became aware of Rami Malek’s existence via The War at Home (though I really didn’t care about him much past the “oh, that guy is really cute” thought), it was Night at the Museum and its unbelievably endearing pharaoh what sealed my fate. Talk about childhood crushes.

I’ll shut up now.
