Welcome to Ask-OBT!

Hey there, and welcome to Ask-OBT! This is an askblog for a currently established PMD:EOS comic, On Borrowed Time (which you can read here if you're unfamiliar with it). This blog is intended to be extra material for the comic, meaning major plot points, character, and story development are relegated for the comic only.

As of March 2023, Tumblr has removed the ability for non-users to send in anonymous asks. If you'd like to send in an ask, you will unfortunately need to login to a Tumblr account to do so (anonymous asks are still enabled for folks who are shy and don't want to reveal their URL).

You are fostering a kitten? Awwww, what do they look like? Is any of them okay?

// a few kittens, and their mama! they're pretty stinkin' cute.

and then this handsome fellow was the one who was having issues with how his ribs were developing. some very expensive first baby pictures (x-rays) later, we put together a splint that got him back on track! this picture is from his pre-splint era, and you can see his goofy pancake chest in action

these photos are from a few weeks ago, and everyone has grown quite a bit! all three (and mama!) already have homes arranged, so at this point we're mostly just working on socialization and desensitizing to make sure they're equipped to handle all the things life can throw at them (like vacuums, water, vet visits, etc lol)

// doing great! just been mega busy irl lately. in part due to financial obligations taking up a lot more of my waking hours, and in part due to fostering a cat and her kittens! (one of which needed close monitoring due to complications in bone formation after birth. he's back on track now, thankfully!)

still got things simmering under the surface for comic stuff, it's just on the backburner til the end of june-ish.

Been a while since I made one of these little promos! As promised on the last page of Chapter 10 Part 2, I've got a return date for OBT sorted out! I appreciate everyone's patience as I sorted out those previously mentioned personal matters <3

And as stated on that little promo image, we'll be returning with the first page of Part 3 on June 22nd! I look forward to seeing you all then!

Woo what is actually going on?

// well, I was meaning to keep up with posting, but tumblr got a little quirky crazy with a massive new feature that worked very poorly with how the site is structured (short version for those not in the know being: if anyone reblogged a post, it becomes a "new" post and the original author is no longer notified of likes, comments, or reblogs from the "new" version of the post). they surprisingly rolled it back very quickly, but I like to err on the side of caution so I held off on responding to asks for a bit. I'll probably resume shortly!

Zephyr: Well, we do know how to exhibit restraint, unlike the urban sentiments that have been shared here lately.

Who is the most attractive in the tribe? Just curious.

Amadeus: Ooh, that'd be Handsome Jo.

Xavier: Yeah, no contest. It's Handsome Jo.

Zephyr: ... He is rather easy on the eyes.

Woo, when will there be more special episodes?

// sometime this year, I hope! I've had the script complete for the past year or two, maybe longer? there are many segments for it that are higher concept visually, so it's been difficult pinning it down for thumbnails. it is one of the few things I've written that actually moved me to tears re-reading it, so do what you will with that information lol

Xavier, Amadeus, how good are you at fighting?

Xavier: I don't really battle for sport. Mostly just hunting and taking down prey. Which is famously not great for friendly sparring.

Amadeus: Not to brag, but I'm preeetty good. Sometimes I'll battle tutor the LDs.

... That one stands for "little dudes".

Xavier: Enlightening.

Zephyr: Oh! Are they on their way back? Goodness, it's hard to maintain composure! It'll be hard not to dote on her to the point of embarrassment...

Aciano: Right?? It's such a great feeling... You thinking about giving Sable a si—

Zephyr: No.

Zephyr and Aciano, if you ever see an excessively attractive Skuntank who’s part midnight Lycanroc could you beat him up, pretty please?

Zephyr: Don't guilds let you hire mercenaries to carry out hits?

Aciano, have you heard that a few pokemon brought updog to the ceremony?

Aciano: Aw, my kittens love this one! Ahem, what's updog?

Zephyr and Aciano, if some urban walked in and started to destroy your primary source of food, what would you do?

Aciano: Get them to... stop?

Zephyr: Preferably with words. Failing that, taking action.

Zephyr: That does beg the question but how does your tribe feel about..yknow…murder?

Zephyr: N-Not good? I'm fairly certain it's unanimously considered a horrible crime.
