Escape from furnace but it’s a vine compilation
Okay, do I wanted a reason to draw another OC. I also wanted another reason to draw another skinless dog. So meet Rupert, the newest addition.
doubt or praise?
Praise
There wasn’t much that Gary actually liked. In his childhood, he had been beaten for wanting things, so he had simply learned to shut that part of his brain off. Can’t get beat for wanting something if you don’t actually want anything, right?
Well. Sure.
But it wasn’t healthy. As Gary grew, he found himself becoming more and more disconnected with the society around him. Nothing was... real, anymore. The boy pummeled other children on the playground for simple pleasures, whether it be money or just the thirst for blood. Many feared him, others felt bad for him. There was always that one, though, that watched him from afar.
Gary wouldn’t call it a friendship. This kid would follow his tail for what seemed like hours, standing watch when he would break into neighbor’s mailboxes or swiping bags of crisps from stores. This boy... he found it fascinating to follow Gary until long into the night, then randomly say goodbye and disappear. It would all repeat, and it often made Gary annoyed. Annoyed, but he wouldn’t tell him to go away. He gave up on that a long time ago.
Over time their relationship began to shift into something different. Gary wouldn’t be so annoyed by his presence, and he stopped ditching him as bait for the cops whenever they would get into too much trouble. One night, as they sat together in Gary’s cold pantry, the iced eyes flicked up to look at the other. He was smaller than him, wore a bandanna around his head, and had his face buried in a comic book they had nicked from the drug store down the road. Looking down at the crisps he had, he sighed and pushed them away, crossing his arms.
“You aren’t mad that pa is making us sleep in here?”
“Huh?” he looked up, confusion visible. But then it processed, and he shook his head, looking back down. “Nah, it’s good. Like I said, we could’ve stayed at my place if my moms was home. She’s working though, and you get enough shit from your dad. You don’t gotta deal with mine.” he explained, and Gary chewed on the statement like a tough steak.
“So you’d sleep on the floor of a dirty pantry instead of your bed?”
“Yeah man, I don’t see the big deal.” he shut the comic and turned his focus to Gary, who seemed to be lost in himself. “You’re my friend, right?”
Friend. Was he his friend? Did Gary Owens have friends? No, he didn’t. He didn’t have friends, and he wasn’t sure why he risked a beating to ask his pa if this kid could sleep in their house. Something twitched on his face, the other could see it, and he sat up, scooching over to him.
“Hey, come on. What did I tell you before? I’m not good at this whole emotional support thing.” he cast his gaze away, the dimly lit pantry going silent. There was an emotion running through Gary’s brain as he thought fast. No one had ever touched him before this tenderly, this particular way. What is this?
Gary let his eyes shut, and he took another moment to think. Finally, he moved closer to him, and leaned against him. The boy, whose name Gary had never actually learned, was shocked. Silence filled the air again, but Gary found himself comforted in a way he had never felt before.
“Do you love me?”
“I don’t know man, you’re my friend. I guess so.” there was a reassuring smile on his lips as Gary finally pulled away from their short hug, clearing his throat and shaking his head. That was embarrassing and awkward, and it made Gary pissed off to know he had just opened himself up that way. It made his stomach burn with rage, and he covered his face, huffing in anger. In the process, he fogged his glasses up, which made it worse.
“Hey... you spoke more than three sentences! I counted!” the other boy laughed, and then grabbed Gary’s arm. He shook him, which startled the other enough to throw a punch in his direction.
“Ack! Hey, I’m telling you that is a good thing! You’re getting better, man! I swear, one of these days you and I are gonna be talking like those professors at that really good school! What was it called? Harbor?” the other boy thought for a moment, and it was enough to make Gary let out a small huff of air. He chuckled lowly, shaking his head. But the way he felt after that... he felt good. Confident, and he suddenly realized something. This boy. He’s the only one who had ever been so... kind. So praising of him, who touches him with gentle hands and makes him laugh. Who gets him to speak. The taller boy’s heart beat a bit harder, and he had to look away.
You’ll be the death of me.

I went crazy so I am putting this under a read more.
also! kind both ooc and in character, if you've read silent night yet, how y'all think gary would react to meeting ambrose pope?
(( Hi I read the whole thing just now and I cannot stop crying. Like, seriously, the tears will NOT stop.
BUT onto your question...
Gary and Ambrose would not be a couple you’d want to see teaming up for any reason. They are both terrifying and powerful, and I’m pretty sure they would have no issue taking out anyone who opposes them. But, considering how they are constantly hungry for power and control, I doubt they would want to work together. It would be for their best benefits, but when you stick an immovable object next to an unstoppable force, then uh...
Good luck.
They both seem to be... similar in personalities, which could cause them to clashing. If Kevin hadn’t taken Ambrose in his sleep, then I’m almost certain Gary would have executed him not long after he showed up. Kevin is just a little crazy rat, he didn’t really pose any real threat to Gary. HNGH. ))
Early morning wade.
This piece took a few hours. I had @stu-pots help me with the background. It’s really hard to believe it’s been 7 years since I first read Lockdown... Damn. Time flies.
Kiss?
Headcanon:
Gary is not a gentle kisser. He grabs you by the hair, pulls you in, practically breaks your nose by how hard he smashes your lips together. He makes a lot of noise, whether its growling or hissing.
Gary also uses a lot of tongue. To be honest, he is not a good kisser at all XD It’s more of a power play between him and whoever is on the receiving end, he loves to feel in control.
Send a word and I will write a drabble or headcanon based on it
