The “Save Net Neutrality” bill was just introduced to Congress. You know what this means? WE HAVE THE BIGGEST CHANCE TO GET OUR INTERNET BACK.
We can only have a chance if you contact your reps NOW and SUPPORT THE BILL. The Bill has been assigned to the House Energy & Commerce Committee.
Here is the link to the bill: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/4585

We need total support on this bill. If you don’t know who your representative is, Wikipedia US congressional members and look for your state. Click on each house member until you find out who is your district’s representative and then see if they’re on the list.
My representative isn’t on the committee but I’m reblogging because this is important. If you live in Michigan congressional district 5, your representative is Republican (GOP) and you need to call him. Mention falling stock prices (it won’t be just tech stocks), increased prices for all goods and services, and slowing down of the economy. I’m from MICD 6, so he won’t pay attention to me.
If you can’t call, reblog the shit out of this.
Just remembered something important. Most bills die in committee, if you want to save the internet, call! Don’t let them ignore you. Make them pay attention. Your taxes pay them, don’t let them ignore your opinion.
If they say they know what’s best for you, tell them that if they want to continue getting that paycheck they’ll do what you want and save the internet. Hit them in the pocket book and have a good argument.
If your representative is GOP/REPUBLICAN/CONSERVATIVE mention FALLING STOCK PRICES, how it’s going to effect our MILITARY, OTHER COUNTRIES PASSING US IN GDP GROWTH, etc.
The GDP one is big, people! GOP is all about money, honey. It doesn’t matter if you don’t care about GDP growth, our military, or stocks. THEY DO! Use their BUZZ WORDS AGAINST THEM.
I know exactly where to hit for conservatives to pay attention. Those are only some of those places.
I don’t care if you’re liberal/democrat or what. If your representative is CONSERVATIVE don’t sound liberal. Find out what your representative campaigned with and pretend to be those things, EVEN IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL DISGUSTING.
FIVE MINUTES OF PRETENDING TO BE CONSERVATIVE WON’T KILL YOU IF YOU’RE LIBRAL.
FIVE MINUTES OF PRETENDING TO BE LIBERAL WON’T KILL YOU IF YOU’RE CONSERVATIVE.
This bill NEEDS support from both sides of the table. Don’t assume that your representative is for the bill if they’re a Democrat- call them. The same thing goes for Republicans. Don’t assume they won’t vote for it. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVE.
If they’re on the committee, CALL.
If they’re not on the committee, CALL.
CALL, CALL, CALL, for the love of everything you have CALL.
KEEP PUSHING!!

WANT
🚨 The internet needs you 🚨
You’re up again, Tumblr.
Back in 2015 you demanded that the FCC adopt strict net neutrality rules and establish a free and open internet. And you won.
That should’ve been the end of it. But apparently not.
The new head of the FCC wants to undo the net neutrality protections you fought so hard for.
His proposed changes open the door to your web traffic being slowed down, or even blocked altogether. You could be forced to pay extra to use your favorite apps. You could even be prevented from getting news from the sources you trust.
Title II protects consumers and democracy by ensuring all voices can be heard.
You know the drill. Here’s what to do:
The FCC is taking comments from the public, and dearfcc.org is making it as simple as possible for you to make your voice heard.
Go there now 👉 dearfcc.org ✌️
You’ll just need to provide a name, an address, and then say a little bit about why rolling back Title II protections is a bad idea. If you’re not quite sure what to write, here’s something to get you started:
I’m writing to urge you to keep our Open Internet rules based on Title II in place. Without them, we could lose the internet as we know it.
The proposed changes to FCC rules would allow fast lanes for sites that pay, and force everyone else into slow lanes. We’ve already seen access to streaming services like Netflix, popular games like League of Legends, and communication platforms like FaceTime slowed down, or even blocked. Conditions like this hurt businesses large and small, and penalize the users who patronize them.
The changes also open the door to unfair taxes on internet users, and could also make it harder for blogs, nonprofits, artists, and others who can’t pay up to have their voices heard.
Please leave the existing existing net neutrality rules based on Title II in place.
Thank you!
If you need more ammo, feel free to quote these experts from our net neutrality Issue Time. TechCrunch and Battle for the Net also have some good starters.
Everyone is counting on everyone else here. Do your part and tell the FCC to keep a free and open internet under Title II.
holy fuck
I can’t believe someone wrote that entire setup and drew this entire comic just to make that visual pun.
It deserves a place in the pun hall of fame.
