Best bet might be replacing the ship bit by bit board by board anyways. Then you'll disperse the ghosts and eventually none of your ship will be haunted anymore. Bonus: your crew won't try to kill you!! Probably!!

I suppose I hope the pirates enjoy their miniature icecreams. (And that whichever pirate got that jumper I ordered last year finds it a really good fit which suits them nicely.) And at least the other parcel I thought was lost to them has turned up (I half suspected they'd nabbed that one for you - a copy of "The Girl Who Loved Caterpillars" in the English translation).

I guess I'll have to find a different gift for the five-year-old for whom that miniature icecream maker was intended (who has a winter birthday, so I use Easter as an excuse to send summer-suited gifts)... what would you recommend?

When Alma was that age she loved dolls and stuffed animals. She also loved new dresses for her dolls or accessories as props for playing. Her parents will love you forever if you get her books (if you're not one of her parents), and I'd avoid anything particularly noisy. You could also go with something artsy or crafty, like coloring books or beads for bracelets.
