The Surprisingly Mild Beginning
Hercules had been going to Alexander’s dorm for a movie night, but halfway there, he realized he forgot his phone and cursed under his breath as he went back to his dorm to get it. Well, technically the dorm wasn’t just his, as he had a roommate, but the thing was that he hadn’t met that roommate yet, and didn’t plan to do so anytime soon. In fact, he never would if he had his way, and he’d been avoiding them for weeks now.
However, he did not, in fact, have his way, as when he opened the door he internally cursed himself further. One thing he’d been trying to manage so far in his college year was avoiding his roommate, and he had just now managed to fail at that, as when he opened the door, lo and behold; there stood his roommate in the middle of the room.
He was in the middle of attempting to use his phone, though that's a fruitless effort for one who doesn't exactly have the classic hands of most other humanoid creatures. Paws were nice, what with their useful retractable claws and all, but not very good at... well, most activities honestly. (It was a wonder he could pull his unruly hair up into a bun every morning.) He was lucky they weren't full-out canine paws and instead were slightly more evolved to have digits that vaguely resembled fingers. Though, the paws weren't his most notable feature, considering the matching tail and ears were present to 'complete the look' (as some would put it.) Fully gray eyes with almond-shaped pupils to match those of a feline were another trait that indicated him not being human. Even if he had been human-looking, his height was sure to turn a few heads.
On another, more scene-oriented, note, the smallish muffled yip-like noise of shock he let out when the door opened would absolutely given his inhumanness away if the physical abnormalities weren’t present. He got over his surprise in a matter of seconds, and spoke up, revealing a thick French accent and a bit of amusement.
"You're the roommate, aren't you? I was starting to think you didn't actually exist!"
