[ * Harley then proceeded to humor and watch over them for at least an hour until Caine forfeited because he was hungry. ]

As a guardian seeing the witness is surreal for me- anyway who are the other 2

I am not sure if the others noticed about this so I am just like the first person you guys are seeing(or reading,I don't FUCKING know)

Anyway,I have no Idea how the limbo shit works and if there's any difference in time,but for me,my timeline of year is 2026

"2026!?"

[ *It's a collective burst of shock this time around— even Harley abandons his aloof facade to fully lean into disbelief for a few seconds. ]

"That is so far off... I'm not sure I can pinpoint my previous location on the timeline, but this can't be the one we all came from, right? A-and we have only been here for a couple of months..."

[ *The Witness's voice lost a lot of its ethereal vibe, coming out now as hushed and unsure like it is talking amongst itself, more than contributing to the conversation. And admittedly, hearing it speak in the "I" pronoun instead of "we" and the lack of reverb feels a little jarring, almost out of place. ]

"How could you tell? We just got the confirmation to our theory: this place is unrestrained by the laws of time, external to its flow. Where we are in time in relation to our original realities is of little relevance, when we are kept out of bounds all the same. The question here is not "why" we can connect with such a specific time period, more like "how" we managed to create this connection in the first place..."

"I mean, I don't think we did anything: we found a PORTAL to the living world! A somewhat functional one, but still a portal, laying just around! It could mean there will be more out there... maybe even ones we can cross?

[ *Silence falls on the scene, brimming with an expectation too fragile to be spoken out loud. You can picture the trio exchanging glances, a shared expression of both doubt and hope, as they are unwilling to give into either, yet too tired to continue living in fear of an illusion. ]

[ *This event is the answer to their prayers and it still manages to appear as the worst thing that could fall upon them. ]

"We can't be having this conversation right now. On the other hand, I think we should be studying the nature of these "interactions" a little more thoroughly..."

Oh hello?hello?can y'all hear me?or us???

"Yes— YES! We can hear you! Oh, this is the single best thing ever!"

[ *There's clear surprise and a tangible relief coming from the other side, with just a subtle tinge of hysteria. Seems you arrived at a good time— or an awful one, depending on prospective. ]

"So, huh... This is a human speaking, right? I reeeeally hope you are human— I'd think myself able to recognize a human's voice, but we haven't had one of those in MONTHS (except from Harley's, I suppose), so things are kiiiiinda... nebulous? right now? We don't know if we can actually trust you. Or any of you, since you mentioned a "us", so I guess there is more of you—"

"Caine, give me that, you'll drop it."

[ *Some shuffling on the other side, like the recording device is being passed from a hand to another. Follows a beat of silence, accompanied by some minor movements, probably an inspection. ]

"This is mostly curious, although the camera feed is not behaving correctly... Either way, we should put this to good use."

[ *Harley's demeanor is way more composed than Caine's, careful in his optimism yet no less amused. He sounds like he is already planning at least a half dozen alternative routes and simultaneously holding up with the conversation. ]

"To answer your question, you who is reaching out to us: yes, we hear you loud and clear. We appear to have stumbled upon a singular device, able to cut through the grim plane of reality we find ourselves in... In that case, could you kindly provide more specific time and space coordinates from your own?" "Assuming it's not some mimic again..."
