West sat at the desk in her room, she poured herself another glass of wine and continued to fill out the papers before her.

"So much work, so little time."

Cant sleep

It was 3am and West tossed and turned in her ed, unable to sleep. Everything was so different now. Everyone was gone. Hundreds of memories ran through her minds along with dozens of faces. Her train of thought seemed to stop at one particular face. 

Jack Merchillia.

She stared blankly at the ceiling.

I wonder where he is now.

I have my PGC Peer Leadership training Mon-Wed next week for 12 hours a day so I really won't be able to get on much

She giggled “No, none in particular. I’ve been here for only a few years. I help with what I can, I’m still learning. Now that the breach is opened once more, we have all hands at the ready. Although not much has happened since the reopening." She shrugged casually.

"Only a few years," Jin repeated. As he said it, a slight blush came across his face as a wave of shame washed over him. That long and he should have noticed her. Yes, they were busy, but that wasn’t an excuse to forget the worke- Cheung patted Jin on the back to break him out of his embaresment, peeking over his shoulder and smiling at the woman. “About time to meet you then, Miss West. Not sure how we missed you."

Hu was muttering to himself, and Jin knew why. He wanted to correct the fact that The Breach had never closed, but at least he had the self control to be polite. Jin turned and smiled at him reassuringly.

"With everything so busy around the Shatterdome, these things happen. Don’t worry." West said with a reassuring smile. “But I’m glad to finally meet you three. It’s good to have you back."

Alright, that pushed Hu a little too close to the edge. “I wasn’t aware that we ever left," he remarked. Jin frowned slightly but made no move to correct his brother. His comment might have been borderline rude, but not quite. Sometimes it was just better to let Hu vent the little things before it built up.

"Those Kaiju sure are keeping us busy. You’d think they’d need a vacation, but they just keep coming faster and faster," Cheung spoke up, agreeing with Agent West. “But that’s why we have dedicated people like you behind the scenes," Jin added in. "Now speaking of engineering, would you mind accompanying us for a while? I’ve been thinking about upgrades for the Crimson Typhoon and I was just thinking I needed someone to discuss them with."

West noticed the tone of Hu's voice and was about to speak but Cheung spoke up. "Oh sure. I'd love to! What did you have in mind?"

West sat against the wall of the shattedome, around this time of night there wasn’t many people out of there rooms or too much buzzing about. With one hand twirling the AI chip on her chain around her fingers and the flipping the pages of an old photo album.

Raleigh had been wandering around, looking for some coffee.

"Uh, hello."

West lifted her head up, noticing Raleigh. She wondered how long he’d been standing there, taking it into account that she wasn’t really paying attention to the things around her.

"Ciao!" West smiled up at him.

She closed the album. "I couldn't really sleep. Figured I'd go through some old things."
