Gemsona-HQ’s prompt made me want to design an SU Future version of Amber, so in honour of the series ending, I’ve given her some new art, celebrating both her original design and one made to look forward to happy endings and new things

Gemsona October Prompts

✰ Homeworld Horror Stories ✰

Rumor has it that Gems who don’t follow their designated function on Homeworld are sent to White Diamond, never to be seen or heard from again…Others say that you get “corrected” but come back different… The popular fandom theory is something happened to White Pearl that made her the way she is now. Come up with your own folktale or scary story that gets passed around Homeworld! What’s it about? The Diamonds? Corrupted Gems? Defective / off-color Gems? How much of it is based in fact? Has your Gemsona ever been a part of one of these scary stories? (Were they the spectator or the source of terror?) How would they react to a Homeworld cryptid White Pearl sighting?

✰ Monster Gem ✰

Centipeedle—or should I say, Nephrite—was temporarily reverted back to her regular Gem form thanks to the help of the Diamonds. Design what some of the other canon corrupted monsters would look like if they were healed! OR: What would your gemsona’s corrupted form look like? If you need some inspiration, check out the canon corrupted monsters or refer to the Wiki for photos of past corrupted gems / gem monsters.

Your Gemsona goes Trick-or-Treating around Beach City. What do they dress up as? Do they go with friends, or is Steven their Halloween escort? OR: Your Gemsona is more interested in tricks than treats. They’ve meticulously planned the perfect prank! What is it, and who’s the unlucky victim?

Each month, we give you an odd, pretty, or unusual gem and challenge you to design a gemsona based on it! You can go as in-depth as you’d like: come up with their personality and backstory, or just make a gemsona design. Now I have a toyhouse account I’ve finally got around to making Amber a full updated ref, complete with stats and all layers of her outfit! Just gotta do a coloured version of her corrupt form next.
