Prelude
A simple exchange
A handshake then a name
A gaze into one another’s eyes
A joke about how times flies
A moment to never be captured again
A night that we both did not want to end
Unfortunately, that’s not how our story began
There were sparks but they were not aiming for your heart
There were moments but I think we both wanted to forget that part
There was an exchange that left us both puzzled at the end
There were times when I thought we’d never see each other again
And then there you were in all your splendor ...to my demise
Your gaze continued to catch my eye
I couldn’t believe that I wanted you more than I did that time before
Thoughts of being in your presence began to be manifested through small conversations
The anticipation of knowing you on a deeper level was divine
I had wasted enough time going back to that night where it seemed easy to fight against the obvious
I was mystified by your countenance
Not sure if it was your walk or lips that made me weak at the knees
But I realized one thing
A simple exchange to the ordinary would have been just fine
Until I realize this extraordinary nature of ours
We had both arrived at a time that was befitted of two souls
Not looking to be made whole but in search for a thrill
One that would give us chills every time the other one was in the room
Each of us being living proof that there was a God
Who saw it fit for me to meet you
