āHuh!?ā The Ravenās hairs rise up in reaction to the sudden, foreboding and ominous voice. His eyes search around to find no one, at least no one visible who could be speaking. Perhaps thatās a Boo, he thought to himself in conclusion, maybe King Boo considering how ominous and dark it resonated in my ears⦠The Ravenās composure returns to mostly normal, though itās clear heās a little nervous about communicating with whoever was speaking, he still feels.. somewhat comfortable with the setting because of his affinity of the occult.
āWhy, yes I did happen to pass by the elderly professorās residence during my journey. Quite an eccentric and sagacious one indeed from what I heard,ā Ray chuckles a tiny bit before clearing his throat.Ā āHowever, to me, good sir or whoever is serving me these inquiries, whether or not he has a beating, functioning heart is of no concern to me. I treat the undead with as much respect as those who are living. As for my reason for visiting such a placeā¦ā Ray pulls the book out of his arm and he holds it in both hands. Itās a book that lists and describes various historically haunted areas of this world, such as the Treacherous Mansion, the Underwhere, Twilight Town, Keelhaul Key, and others.
āI.. suppose I canāt give much more of an answer other than that Iām.. drawn to this place. Iāve always had a fond fascination of the occult and anything supernatural related as far back as my admittedly partitioned memory goes.ā The dark haired bird looks up in thought, pensive.Ā āNow that I think about it, I guess that Iām also here for a little.. self discovery I suppose? Memories of my past are.. rather hazy. I only recall bits and pieces, but hah, Iāll spare you the details, my apologies.ā He bows as a way of showing sincere apology.Ā āAnd well⦠I guess if itās alright, maybe I could interact with the Boos here? Or whomever else rests within this magnificent mansion? I.. donāt really have that many friends due to my, uhm, social anxiety, but uh that just about sums it up! No ultierior motives or anything, I swear on my honor!āĀ
Ray gives a soft, innocent smile after he finished his explanation, though he realized that he has talked a lot, leading him to rub the back of his neck in embarrassment.
āA-ah, my apologies for going on for so long, Iāve been.. told that I talk a lot sometimes, h-hahaā¦ā
āHmm,Ā eccentric and sagacious, cruel and insane. Heās not welcome here. I hope I wonāt have to say the same about you.ā This stranger would hardly know of the past he and his boos had with the old professor on the edge of the valley, but the trauma the old man caused still stung to this day. He was going to give living beings a chance from now on but he still felt he was justified in being cautious, many other boos and ghosts would agree.Ā
He could see the book from where he lingered. It did bristle him that the locations to many boo homes were seemingly so available to living beings. The whole point of ghosts living in remote abandoned locations is that living beings wouldnāt bother them after all. But thatās for another time, not like this traveler was the one to write to book.Ā āI would hope youād treat the undead with respect, especially on my doorstep. I will not tolerate any behavior like that. You would be cast out and cursed otherwise.ā So far the stranger didnāt seem like a threat, someone so small and young and breathing could hardly hurt a ghost king anyway, but he had been surprised before. But at this moment, he felt they could do no harm.
The door creaked open slowly, itās noise echo through the large foyer, allowing the boy to enter.Ā āI suppose if you have questions then I can possibly answer them. Take the door to your left. Iāll be waiting for you inside.ā Indeed he was waiting, next to the fire place where a roaring flame was the only thing lighting up the room. He liked his atmospheric darkness after all. He was fully visible, no need to hide and scare the young man. It didnāt seem like he was here for thrills anyway.
