Welcome to the amazing astounding incredibly magical blog of Brittany Susan Pierce! Formerly of Lima, Ohio, now living and working in the Big Apple...even if I don't know why it's called that. Taylor Swift did say it's been waiting for me, though, so...
Case closed. Glad we cracked it! Burnt caramel? Best. You two are naming my and Ryder’s children already? Sugar Baby? As a nickname or as the actual name?
We’re like scooby and the gang! Ooh, definitely! Technically it was only me, she wanted to leave it up to you guys, but I said no to that idea. The actual name! It’s a great name!
That’s a possibility that I’ll gladly accept as the truth. It should be. You can’t really go wrong when it comes to popcorn, even burnt it’s still decent.
Me too, I think it’s much nicer to believe that than to find out it’s something else more horrifying. Totally! Burnt popcorn actually has a nice flavor. Oh! And just so you know, I was talking to Quinn and I’ve decided your first child is going to be called Sugar Baby. So you can look forward to that.
I’ve thought about it but I keep hoping it was a huge accident. Hopefully no one got burnt trying to make the first batch of it, that’d be sad.
I really hope so too, or at least that they saw an animal doing it and thought it’d be a good idea to copy them. That’d be way too sad, popcorn should always be a happy thing.
It’s one of those great mysteries of the world. It’s up there with Stonehenge and how people discovered which animals can be miked. But popcorn is one of the more beneficial.
The milking question isn’t one I’ve ever thought about, but I really don’t want to know the answer to it. Let’s definitely focus on popcorn, because that’s less gross.
I never thought about it but that would make so much sense! It literally pops! I wonder who decided to try to make popcorn?
That name is so much smarter than I ever thought! I wonder if someone saw corn in a fire and that it popped and then tried to do it themselves? It’s a good question, I don’t know how it got started.
I definitely have a lot that I need to figure out before I’m worrying about that stage of life. Although I’m a little surprised none of our friends have gotten engaged yet.
To be honest, so am I - I’m sure it’s just a matter of time, though. We’re all getting to be about that age, so someone’s either going to get pregnant or married.
TAGGING → Brittany Pierce, Santana Lopez
LOCATION → Santana’s apartment.
TIME FRAME → Sometime in the recent past. I’m bad at remembering dates.
GENERAL NOTES → Santana and Brittany do… Santana and Brittany things.
Santana couldn’t help but roll her eyes albeit playfully at the other’s comment. Brittany knew exactly what she meant but keeping things light was her way she had succeeded. She’d missed that in her absence, things had gotten far too rough when she’d been on her own, and she wasn’t afraid to admit it.
“You could do that if you wanted to, Britt. We can figure that out together, look at studios, maybe network a little the whole nine yards.” She followed up the words of encouragement with a small smile and a nudge, dark eyes peering out from beyond thick lashes with a twinkle of their own. She gave a small nod, plump bottom lip caught between her teeth as Brittany didn’t miss a beat, popping food into her mouth as if she’d said the easiest thing in the world.
“Yeah.” She started, exhaling before nodding once more. Expressing herself hadn’t always been the easiest task but Brittany set her mind at ease. “I do. You don’t know how much.”
Santana’s eyeroll was clearly a good-natured one, and Brittany couldn’t help but smile in response. She was one of the very few people who’d ever really understood her sense of humor, and sometimes it was a relief to know that she could tell jokes and not just receive odd stares in response. Not to mention that she liked to make Santana laugh, as it didn’t happen nearly enough without her.
She wasn’t completely surprised when Santana offered her help - in fact, part of her had been hoping for just that outcome. When it came to going with the flow and just letting life happen, Brittany had that handled. But making plans, making the world work the way she wanted, those were Santana’s strengths. And Brittany knew that it would be so much easier to find her path again if she had her help. “I’d like that. I think I’d be a pretty good teacher.” She worked well with kids, at least, so she hoped those skills would transfer over. And hey, she’d taught Finn to dance, at least a little, and not many people could say that.
While it didn’t show in her face, waiting for Santana’s reply had been one of the more nerve-wracking experiences of her life. If she hadn’t wanted to try again then Brittany would have respected that, but she was infinitely happier when she confirmed that she did. “I’m really glad,” she murmured, setting the popcorn aside and leaning over for a kiss - nothing too intense, but a sort of physical seal on the promise of a new start. “I’ve really missed you a lot.”
