Season 14, Episode 14, "ouroboros"
So, this episode was so much better than the last. It feels like this episode really took all the time it needed to be great.
Finally back to the regular monsters and a new one at that. I love that it was Sam and Dean and our two angelic boys who were hunting and not just Sam and Dean. This makes it so much better.
I loved the whole idea of the Gorgon not being able to see celestial bodies when viewing the future, that was interesting.
The whole showdown with the gorgon was also pretty sweet. I'm absolute trash but I loved with the monster kissed Castiel and he was a little stunned by the venom but at first it looked like he was shook.
Ok, now more in depth. That whole scene with Dean and Cas in the diner was art. I think if that scene was done several years ago, Dean wouldn't have opened up the way he did. You could tell he was really struggling and the only person he could trust with that information was Castiel.
I think it didn't make sense that they had Jack coughing blood again though, like, we're past that. There are tonnes of other ways they could've shown us that Jack was not well.
The fight scene was pretty regular, I liked it but it was obvious. What I liked about the fight scene was that Jack was the one to kill him. He's really proving himself as a worthy hunter.
That whole conversation about Dean and Sam dying one day really hit me. I mean, I know it's true but it doesn't stop me from hurting. All Jack wants to do is protect them but he can't do that forever. I don't think he'll understand when Dean or Sam dies. I don't think he'll let it go, which isn't ideal.
The scene when Dean was freaking out and knocking things off shelves was meh. I mean, they could have had him sitting down and having a mental breakdown over Michael leaving which would have been just as effective, but it just seems so out of character for him to get that worked up. I know he's done so before but the only time I remember him doing that was when he had the mark, when he hurt Cas.
Finally, Jack had the power to destroy Michael and take his grace right from his very being as it was airborne. What the fuck? I mean, I believe he has the power, that's evident, but oh my fucking god! What the fuck! That was epic! Like, incredibly epic! But does this mean Jack no longer has a soul? Will he become an enemy? I mean, Sam was a major bag of dicks without his soul, but death plucked his soul from the pit, right? There is no soul left for Jack to use.
This will be interesting.
I'm so damn excited that he has his power back, this is great. But I don't know if I'd rather have him soulless and epically powerful or soul-more?.. And lamely mortal in his powers. I don't know. Can I have both at the same time lol
Hardly any complaints with this episode, the only complaint I have is where the fuck is Claire! Where is dark kaia? I mean? They broke her spear and never got back to her about it. Maybe now that the Michael storyline is finally finished, they can get back to my girls. We haven't seen Claire in a while, I mean c'mon guys.
