At this point, the poor tiefling is covering his face. You have successfully broken him.

Hey Dammon, didn't see you down at camp to celebrate with the others. Any interest in a drink? I could use some help finishing this bottle of wine ;)

"Oh, hello! Sorry about that, I've been working on this new project, so I suppose I got a bit distracted."

He says sheepishly, putting down his hammer before wiping off the sweat from his brow with his forearm.

"I'm not much of a wine drinker, I prefer whiskey, myself, but I'd be happy to keep you company. I could use a break."

Dammon says with a soft smile before rummaging through his cabinets, pulling out two glasses and a bottle of his own mermaid whiskey.

"Shall we?"

The young tiefling man gestures towards the set of chairs and a table that is off to the side, his tail flicking from side to side contentedly.

"Gods, haha. It sure would, wouldn't it?"

Dammon laughs shyly, scratching the back of his head, a dark blush forming across his cheeks and ears. His tail flicks absent-mindedly back and forth.

"Sooo...are you looking to load up on some new gear? If so, I have some new stock!"

"Dammon, I may have... broken my rapier. Do you think you can repair it? Don't ask how it got broken."

"Ah! Certainly, Wyll. I have a no questions asked policy, so don't worry."

Dammon says with a smile, taking Wyll's rapier delicately before inspecting it over. A soft hum escapes his lips as he glances over the very worn and broken blade. He could tell it's been well loved over the years and was once a very beautiful blade, fit for the heroic Blade of Frontiers.

"Based on the damage alone, this will take me a day or two to restore it to its original beauty."

Dammon calmly explains, but then realizes this would be a good opportunity to test out one of his original works.

"In the meantime, if you don't have any backup blades, I have a prototype that's ready to be tested out, free of charge. Though I would love feedback on it when you come back to pick up your blade so I can make improvements where needed."

The young tiefling man says as he turns around to rummage through his pile of works in progress, pulling out a rapier in a similar size to Wyll's old one.

Turning around, Dammon thrusts his creation forward. A curious, beautiful obsidian colored blade that gave off a deep red aura lay delicately in Dammon's hands. The hilt of the blade had gorgeous silver detailing that spiraled outwards in a fancy design, but the one thing that really caught Wyll's attention was the little silver Raven sitting on the top of the hilt with tiny ruby eyes.

"I call this blade, Prince of The Sword Coast. It can be used as a warlock pact weapon as well!"

He explains excitedly with a proud smile on his face before sheepishly looking away.

"I, uh, after your party saved all of us Tieflings...I may or may not have been inspired to make weapons for all of you. So please, I insist. It's the least I can do for saving all of us."

Dammon says, pink dusting his cheeks, not really realizing the weird way he said that as he stares in awe at the tiefling woman he's grown fond of. He feels as if his heart will burst out of his chest, and after a moment, he clears his throat.

"Is that so? That's wonderful to hear. I can work on improving your heart then, here, let me see—"

Dammon takes the Infernal Iron from Karlach and turns towards his forge, hammer in hand.

"This will take just a moment."

After a few minutes, Dammon turns back around and hands Karlach her upgrade.

"You'll have to install it yourself, but with this new upgrade, you should finally be able to...touch people again."

He says with a faint smile.

Karlach's cheeks ignite along her engine at the tiefling's words, while waiting eagerly for his creation.

"OK give me a sec" She mumbles as she fiddles with the upgrade and installs it carefully. Her engine roaring for a moment, before it settles down.

"Holy shitt" She mumbles. "I thinks I should try to see if it works?" She looks around unsure who to ask.

Dammon stands there awkwardly, looking this way, and that, not seeing anyone in sight but the both of them.

"I mean, I don't happen to see anyone around at this moment in time...so, if you'd like, you could try—touching me?"

Dammon immediately cringes at how that came out. Gods dammit. Why was he such a bloody idiot when it came to talking with Karlach?

"I-I mean, sigh, here..."

He reaches out his hand for a handshake. No! That's not what he wanted to do....(Insight check: Fail) Dammon sure is struggling to convey what he really wants, huh?

She stares at his hand, the apples of her cheeks were of such deep red that it almost burned her skin. Without saying a word, she intertwines her fingers with his.

She stood there for a moment, looking at her fingers in Dammon's hand, and before she could even say a word, she pulled him in her arms.

Hot tears started pooling up at the corners of her eyes while she hid in his neck. It was so much to take in, after so long she finally could fill that yearning feeling that formed a pit in her stomach. She felt her knees shaking, her hands gripping tightly at his shirt as she couldn't stop her eyes from releasing those unrelenting tears.

She held on to him like she never held anyone before. He was her first fucking hug in years, and she almost didn't want to let go.

She didn't want to tear herself away, afraid that she'd wake up alone in her cot, holding Clive instead of an actual person, but his smell was slowly reaching her, grounding her, reminding her that she was truly holding someone. Reminding her that it was real.

"Fucking hell, I didn't wanna cry" She chuckled, still nuzzled in his neck. She still didn't want to let go.

"O-oh!"

Dammon breathlessly says as he blinks at their intertwined fingers before he feels himself being tugged into a tight embrace. Is this really happening? Karlach, the woman who has held his affections for years... hugging him? Gods, please let this moment last forever.

Dammon quickly wraps his strong arms around her waist, resting his hands on her shoulder blades, squeezing her just as tight as she squeezed him. He too buries his head into her neck, sighing contentedly into the hug.

Soon, he feels wetness upon his own neck. She was crying, so with all his strength, he pulled Karlach impossibly closer to him—comforting her in the only way he knew how.

"You can cry whenever you want when you're with me, though I'd much rather see your beautiful cheerful smile."

He manages to murmur, still not wanting to let go, and so planting his feet to the ground, he picks Karlach up with ease, twirling her around before placing her back on the ground, hands still resting on her waist. Dammon's gaze was so full of affection for her, happy that she could now enjoy the longing touch of another.

Dammon stutters as Karlach waltzes right on in as he is taking a break to cool down. Instinctually, he attempts to cover himself up with his broad arms, only making his muscles pop more. He was, without a doubt, extremely flustered as a very evident blush appeared on his cheeks.

How was it he always got himself in situations like this with Karlach, his long time one sided crush?

"Yes, I would say me and Karlach are fairly close, but she's pretty friendly to everyone. Halsin compared her to a dog and I can't unsee it."

"A dog?! Oh no, Karlach is so much more than that, Shadowheart. She's a very beautiful woman, strong...courageous, with the biggest heart out of anyone I know."

Soon, his frown turns into a smile as Dammon thinks fondly of his one-sided crush. (Insight check: Successful!) It's rather obvious Dammon has feelings for Karlach. He just doesn't know if he should tell her.

Immediately, his face drops. His whole body really just slouches over in disbelief. There's no way someone like Dammon could possibly compare to the famed Archdruid Halsin. Not to mention how handsome... and massive he was.

"I see...well I appreciate the information nonetheless."

Dammon says letting out a defeated sigh, attempting to smile through his forever one-sided crush.
