WHY DOES NO ONE EVER MAKE JASON'S THEORETICAL NEW ROME MAJOR ARCHEOLOGY WITH THEN EITHER A MINOR IN OR A SECONDARY MAJOR IN ART???

Like... it's RIGHT THERE!!! Guy was literally set up to be making temples for all the forgotten and neglected gods by BoO. HE OFFERED MAKING KYM AN ACTON FIGURE!!! Dude is an a solute nerd, and we see that he actuallybreally loves learning things like History (ot what he thinks could be history based off of his reaction to Hercules' pamphlet). Not only that. but I think him at least minoring in Art would be just the right amount of escapism from, well.... everything.

Jason was born and raised to be a weapon: to destroy things and die in battle. Art would be his escape from the life of a soilder: it would give him the ability to create, and express every uncomfortable emotion locked away within him. It would give hom a chance to give a voice to all the things he doesn't even fully understand about himself, but feels nonetheless.

a) in the Text Itself Annabeth is slightly more organized but still just as chaotic as the other two, don't be misogynistic and make her the motherly responsible one

b) why would you make this trio boring by taking away how weird they ALL are. this is the trio that found the missing god Pan after like a thousand years completely on a whim, because Grover saw a creepy tunnel in the ground and went "ah yeah it's got cool energy, lets just follow that". they killed medusa out of sheer desperation and then mailed her head to Olympus in spite. they bribed (BRIBED) charon into letting them into the underworld, but not before trying to convince him that they were all dead and had drowned in a bathtub (they were twelve.) they were the first heroes in years to go through the Sea of Monsters and good God did they make a fucking mess of it. they improvised their entire plan to send Kronos back to Tartarus ~10 seconds before the final battle and deployed it with zero verbal communication. like please it's not just one of them curbing the others from accidentally destroying the world, it's these three destroying the world together because they somehow make each others' ideas worse while other characters watch in pure undiluted fear. i just know titan-war-era chiron had to take anxiety medication every five seconds whenever these three were in a room together, bless

So everyone and their mama's know about Jason's whole arc in HOO that's about his struggle with his old identity and trying to remember a life that's now foreign to him? Yeah? You also remember in TOA Jason STILL hasn't gained back his full memory despite Percy getting his back in SON?

We all know that Rick did that because he barely knew what to do with him other than killing him and using his death as a motivation for Lester/Apollo. BUT! But! I hold a theory that'll do Jason justice and give his in universe character more depth.

Now we know why Jason lost his memory: Hera/Juno took it from him for the prophecy and quest to work but what if: there was something else that interfered with our lighting boy's brain?

Enter in: suppressed emotions! That's right, Jason got that brain fog. So usually when you start to ignore your emotions, thoughts, and general health, your brain starts to get weird and cause you to forget bits and pieces of your life (Example: me. And yes, it sucks)

And there's no way Jason's life at Camp Jupiter was truly the best. He had this whole 'Being the perfect Roman' thing so that implies the campers around him causing him pressure to be the best as a son of Jupiter.

(But Nyx, you can't demonize a whole camp just because of a headcanon--SHUSH! During the entirety of Heroes of Olympus, we've been told that the romans were harsh and ruthless but barely got the chance to see it. And we also got zero clue about Jason's childhood: it's a total mystery)

Like maybe his childhood sucked or the Titan war was so brutal and messed up but once he got elected as Praetor, he had to be strong and a leader so he locked away his emotions and ignored the need to grief properly which caused him forget majority of it.

The point is this: the only way I could explain TOA Jason's deal with not having his full memory intact was because of his bad coping mechanisms.

Okay, I want to contest that with Frank likely drinking matcha because he's 1) half-asian and 2) Canadian, and 3) he's got generational wealth. This boy can afford to drink it xD Though it's not his go-to caffeine drink. That would be oolong: though he has a complicated relationship with it (he really started drinking Oolong after he lost his home and his grandma during SoN, to honor his grandma).

Jason drinks matcha because I feel like Leo offered it to him as a joke one time, and he found out he actually liked it, and it worked WAY better for him than coffee did (he use to have bad caffiene crashouts when he was drinking coffee, ans he doesn't get that with matcha). He feels like he's more focused than ever before.

Both Leo and Percy are energy drink consumers, but Leo's way more unhinged with it. He's the guy who will binge drink three to work on a project all night, while Percy is more of a "have it for a special little treat 😊" kind of guy (both Sally and Annabeth would kill Percy if he drank energy drinks like Leo did).

You can try to pry espresso from Nico cold, dead fingers, but even them you ain't seperating that man from his coffee. He's italian: coffee is in his blood. (Bonus: Will is also a coffee drinker, because boy does he need it as the head-healer for the infirmary).

Okay, ignoring that book!canon Zeus is a shitty dad and show!Zeus is an even shittier dad for a moment.

Zeus looking at baby Thalia and deciding he's going to try to live up to the name Zeus Patrios (Zeus the Paternal). So Zeus quietly protects his little girl from above from any mortal who could hurt her and any monster who'd do serious damage.

Now ten year old Thalia gets her first period. She does not know what that is, she's sobbing, hyperventilating, when Zeus shows up in the flesh to be like, 'Kid you aren't dying'.

So Zeus explains period hygiene to Thals, explains why they happen, helps her clean up, kisses her on the forehead, gives her a hot water bottle he totally stole from Hera (don't worry he got Hera a new one) and Thalia gets to camp safe is loved by father so much it makes Mr D die inside because Zeus is his father too.

Honestly, I could see that cause myth!Zeus is 1000% a Girldad. Athena just has to look at him and say "Daddy, please~?" and Zeus will give her anything she wants.

He treats his sons like trash, and that's likely due to his paranoia that he will be overthrown by one of them just like he overthrew his father because their was a prophecy that said he would one day be overthrown by a son of his.

A discombobulated satyr with round glasses comes in holding a small, scruffy-looking boy with sun-bleached hair and toffee colored skin and a smattering of freckles. This allows him to understand a person's personality, emotional state, and a vague understand of potential life experiences, as well as detect there whereabouts. Has some influence over other's emotional states, but not nearly significantly as say charmspeak's influence over others. This has a roughly 20 foot radius range. Downside: it's a continuous ability. It can not be turned off, and can be particularly difficult to sort theough a number of individuals soul-songs without significant concentration. This often causes Asher sensory overload due to too many people being in close proximity. Noise cancelling headphones help dampen the effect.

"T-that's not-" Oliver begins to correct Mr. D about the name, but quickly deflates as soon as he starts. He instead clears his throat and gives a nervous smile. "I-I mean, yes: of course, my Lord. The Olympians service is a gracious boon." He gives a stilted bow before quickly signing the paperwork, leaning down and smiling warmly as he talks to Asher. "Now Asher: you be good, okay? You're going to go with Mr. D and Ms. H here, and they're going to take good care of you. You'll even get to meet other kids!"

Asher buried his face into Oliver's side. "But other adults are scary, Oli...." Oliver's face fell as his smile turned sympathetic.

The tragedy of jason grace will randomly sneak up on me every couple of weeks and MENTALLY DESTROY ME

Because what do you mean he lived a hollow gods-serving life in a military camp. What do you mean that in spite of that he might have still had meaningful friendships- ones that he neither will fully remember nor that we'll get to know about. Percy got his memories back but jason didn't and for that he lost reyna and who knows who else actually!! He might have had a support system at some point- he might have even had friends who died in battle. Ones he vowed to remember at some point in the past, but then hera/juno happened and,,, who knows? We truly barely know the full true details about jason grace's past. Like that boy was in cj from literal toddlerhood. Reyna's POV hints that they were good friends once. She never says that Jason also didn't have anyone else though does she? So like. We will never truly know. And he might have started remembering things with time, but now all is lostttt

Truly, what was robbed from him the most was time. Just simple timeee. He finally had his sister again. He finally found a place where he belonged. Despite his memory loss, he had leo and piper. But then he lost leo and distance grew between him and piper due to them going their separate ways (piper had a right to want to find herself btw I'll fight piper haters at anytime)

I believe that if jason grace had more time his life would have climbed back up eventually. He had a fresh start and a way to start to get to know himself more. When percy and annabeth got back to camp in the summer, he would have had time to hang out with them and to tell them everything that was going on! The same with hazel and frank. Jason was starting to have people. With time he and piper would have found a new friendship, and maybe with reyna as well, and looking back at percy's reaction to his death i would like to assume that they had started to get closer as well

(I have No idea what was going on with coach hedge and mellie but I refuse to believe that this was their reaction to the breakup💀 like even if it Was Jason's doing, it is still his right as much as it is piper's??? Those two are basically their childrennn wtf was that)

Anyways. Jason Grace you died way too soon. You had so much potential. He makes my heart ache. He is genuinely a complex character that deserved to be explored more. The comparisons between him and percy would be much more interesting if they stopped being about who is stronger and they ended up being about them as human beings. Also those two boys are FRIENDS who clearly loved and respected eachother SO MUCH. Like hello????? Jason bear-hugging percy when he got back from tartarus, Percy basically being catatonic with grief when he found out about Jason's death. The HOO cast adored eachother much more deeply than we recognise. It was seen more than once. Those babies went through sm together

Consider: Jason right post tlh when he’s just beginning to unlearn his CJ habits tolerating bunker nine but going there for Leo and learning to love it over time as he himself softens around the edges and lets himself be a little more comforted by this place where he’s not expected to be anyone but Just Jason (and maybe hand Leo the occasional wrench). He’s not even sure when exactly it shifts but at some point the tension in his shoulders cracks and he’s no longer tolerating it but actually finds himself looking forward to being in the bunker

Fully believe that Jason is the kind of person who is like "I'm not clingy" but then is constantly touching his partner in one way or another; he feels absolutely homesick when his partner is away for more than 10 minutes; and he has a whole pile of gis partner's clothes stashed away in his bags so he can cuddle them when he's traveling (or cuddle them whenever really).
