As the spirit creatures enticed everyone to eat and the feelings of hunger and weariness settled over everypony, Phyre felt the weariness most of all. He could really use a goood...good...sleeeeep.
Meanwhile, Dizzy was happy to oblige the spirits. She was always ever so hungry. She was willigly led around and chatted the ear off of her guide, and they didn't seem to mind. When they offered her sustenance she could not refuse:
A pretty ruby certainly large enough to snack on for some time. Delcious. Just as she stood there salivating over the tasty treat:
The grass disappeared, as did the food, and the clouds rolled in. Dizzy was drastically disappointed at first, but then again, adventure was better than food any day.
Phyre awoke and immediately homed in on Dizzy. His first thought was "What did she do!?" But then he realised it had nothing to do with her at all. Sadly, in most cases she would be the culptit of just about any disaster befalling the pink stallion.
He rushed to head for the tiny lizard, but someone else got to her first.
Being carried by something so monkeyish and strange as a human was a novel experience for Dizzy, though she didn't object. Though as the fellow ran away she could not help but reach back and taunt the creature looming from the chasm behind them.
"Hey you look interesting I bet you could eat a lot of things you big fat meaniehead but you better leave everyone here alone because I am a dragon and you don't want to make me angry dragons are not nice when they are angry and also I have Phyre he was an adventurer I bet he's faced monsters worse than you before because he's told me all his stories and he could kick your butt in fact I bet he will if he wasn't the nice guy he is and always looking out for me not that I need it I can totally take care of myself just you watch we'll teach you a lesson-"
"Dizzy shut up!" Phyre shouted, trying to catch up with the human and his charge.
And Dizzy did, though not because Phyre asked her to. Some dust from the wasteland got kicked up and tickled her nose.
"A...Ah...Ahhh...ATCHOOO."
If Dizzy's human rescuer could stay attached to the baby dragon he would find himself flying in a nice long arc...away from the beastie. Convenient, if he could keep his chaps from burning and his legs from breaking on the landing.
