Dyo is a 500,000+ year old shiny Darkrai who has abandoned his life-long duty as a forest guardian to "retire" in lil old Ganymede Town. Here he has integrated himself into human society by enjoying such humany activities as home ownership, partying, falling in love, gossiping with the girlies, pissing everyone off with his obnoxious antics, causing property damage, suppressing all his past traumas, learning to cook, and being the local alcoholic. You know! Normal stuff!

I'm fairly new to Pokémon so I'm pretty clueless on a good bit of stuff. I have fun making up my own lore, especially regarding Darkrai as a species. I just do what I like!! If it doesn't match canon lore, that's okay. We ballin'.

This blog accepts ASKs! Pretty much anything goes but here's some basic guidelines:

Dyo is the only one I prefer to be asked questions, but an occasional question to Milly and side characters are okay!

You can ask me (Filly/the creator) questions as well so long as they are relevant to the blog's theme. I will respond with (( text indicators )) that the post isn't from Dyo!

Questions should be respectful in terms of avoiding anything offensive such as, but not limited to, homophobia/transphobia/racism, etc.

That being said, you CAN be mean to Dyo. He's an asshole, he deserves it :) He WILL be mean back, though. Anything he says is solely from him and does not necessarily reflect back on things I, the creator, think.

Uh... no. That'd be weird as shit! And probably itchy.

My skirt and tail have a texture similar to fabric, though. Kinda spandexy, has a stretch to it. Maybe some polyester-rayon-like mix. Shit man, I dunno! It’s weird. It's the only part of my body besides my hair where if you cut parts of it off, it regrows. But my hair and skirt aren't made up of the same thing.

The rest of my body is "normal". It feels similar to human skin without the hair and it's a good bit denser. My neck collar is boney, like antlers. I don't shed my neck collar though. Dude, that would be so fucked up...

So to answer: I don't think about it. I live a life of blissful ignorance. With any luck, my time will finally come and I won't have to experience that sorta grief again... it was bad enough the first time...

How would you feel if you suddenly turned into a regular human?

Eesh! It's bad enough whenever I have to use my human illusion. I would kill myself if I was like that forever. And it would be easy to do! Humans are so squishy and weak! One battle and I'd be done for! What fun would that be?!

At least I could finally marry Milly... legally...

What music genres do you like?

Hmm. Ya know, I like all kinds of music! Whatever they play at raves and clubs are always good. Keyona's bar plays some pretty bangin' tunes most of the time.

At home, though, when I'm by myself... I'm a fan of alternative metal and nu metal most often. Grunge and post-grunge styles are pretty good too. Screamo... death metal... I like when music sounds nasty and rough and a lil chaotic. Yeah. That shit fucks.

It's always being added to and isn't organized in any kinda way. I kinda just throw stuff in it when something speaks to me. They either pertain to him as a goofy idiot, a party boy, or his personality/history/plot shit. And sometimes I just throw stuff in that vibes, like the Darkrai themes are in there cause idk why not?

(( I've been putting this answer off because I wanted to draw a drag character identity for him, but I couldn't come up with anything.

So instead have a photo of his putrid Mii because he continues to dress himself in women's clothing, which is very on par. Much like the giant portrait in his room. Dyo canonically needs a giant portrait of himself now.

Is every Darkrai the same age or does a new one appear once in a while?

A new Darkrai hasn’t appeared in… Arceus knows when. It’s been a few thousand years. No idea why they just decided to stop existing... There was a thought once that most Darkrai were reincarnated from previous ones that died. I might have been the reincarnation of some previous loser! If that's true, there should be a shit ton of them now considering most of us kicked the bucket eons ago.

Each of us appeared at different times one way or another. I think there were the OGs to start with, then more of us appeared since then, whether when a previous one kicked it or Arceus just decided to add some fresh blood in there. No one knows! Omoi might, but they don't share their secrets and no one asks. Monty and I are about the same age, but he's the only one I know of who's still alive that appeared even remotely around the same time as me.

We all KNOW when one appears too, it’s not like they’re out there in secret. The Hollow knows, and we know from The Hollow… or Mother tells us. She's sensitive to that shit.

Also, a little fun fact: no Darkrai has died of old age yet, so I’ve concluded we are immortal in that sense. So I’m basically a god and you should remember that~

To Dyo, have you ever been given any crazy nicknames?

Mmm... I definitely had a lot of nicknames in my life, but nothing crazy. Up until a few thousand years ago I didn't even have a real name. None of us Darkrai did. I was just called "Guardian" or "Protector" most of my life. Once humans came along is when all the stupid boring shit like "Nightmare King" and "Shadow Monster" started manifesting. "Devil" and other forms of such got real popular for me. Blah blah blah, boring as fuck.

In the last few years I have gotten a lot of stupid offensive names I shall not repeat because, uhh fuck them. Lately everyone started calling me "Deedo" though?? I think Shep started it and now everyone's saying it... It's really annoying but maybe if I ignore it they'll grow bored of it... Yeah... that'll work...

Thoughts on horror movies? Slasher movies if you want to nitpick.

I don't fuck with live action films all that much. I get so engrossed I sometimes forget they aren't real and it stresses me the hell out! But a lot of slasher-style horror movies are so fucking stupid and over-the-top that it's honestly hilarious!

Violence doesn't bother me at all: I've seen all kinds of horrible gory shit in my time that none of it affects me. But holy fuck, the creative ways they take people out in these movies is insaaaane.

A lot of the tropes in horror and slasher movies can be kinda predictable and stupid, yet funny and endearing in their own way. Screaming at the screen "Don't do that you dumb fuck!" can make for its own entertainment!

Now, other categories of horror I... don't like so much. The shit that tries to fuck with your brain? Psychological stuff? And things that are way too real, like about cults or whatever? Naaah, I'm not into that...

Then there's like, those weird ass shock-horrors. What was that one about the dude kidnapping the guy and turning him into a Walrein? That shit was fuuuuuuuucked uuuuppp in the funniest way! I love that!! Gives me nightmare ideas I never once would have thought up, and I'm not ashamed to admit I steal from them. The results are pretty delectable.

I will take the Human Sizzlipede any day over Freddy Kruger. Listen! just cause the latter is a nightmare guy doesn't mean I'm a fan! Fucker is way too obsessed with children. That's all I gotta say about that!

How much work is it to take care of your hair?

I don't do anything to it except your basic bitch shit. Wash, brush, BAM all done! I don't use shampoo or conditioner cause it doesn't really make a difference. I spent 500,000 years just using rain water or rivers or whatever the fuck, and my own claws as a comb and that did just fine. Water quality can change things up a little, make it feel less clean, but that's about it.

Darkrai hair isn't like human hair. It does similar things, like it can tangle up, frizz out, that sort of shit, and if you're in really bad health it can get greasy, dry out, or get split ends. A healthy Darkrai's hair otherwise doesn't really get damaged easily outside of getting dirty.

I actually would rather not have the long hair. I have cut it off before--which you CAN do--but the shit just grows back within a few hours. It's kinda like our skirts and tails: if you cut them off, they just come back too. Guess it's connected to our dark matter or somethin'. Really annoying! At least I can style it if I wanted, but I usually got better things to do.

Darkrai hair is waaaay softer than human hair too. It feels like silk! Or like... Lopunny dewlaps. Have you ever touched a Lopunny's dewlap? Don't do it without asking for consent first: you'll get bit. Don't ask how I know that. Anyway, that's not important...

We can also manipulate and control our hair. I turn mine into pillows! That's the good shit. And of course we do our protective domes with it too. We can make it turn rock hard! Just like I do to a lot of my fans out there, if you know what I mean~
