first, my kid would not sign anything without me seeing it first. 2nd, upon seeing it i would be at the superintendant’s office the next morning. then we would speak to the teacher. black folk gotta nip it in the bud.

Dont let your children be controlled like this. I remember back when I was in school my mom always told me “if you really need to use the bathroom or attend to an emergency and the teacher won’t let you, then just leave the classroom and I’ll deal with teacher and principle”

If I was this kid I would use up those passes and then just fuckin’ throw up or get a severe nosebleed in the classroom and then refuse to leave because “sorry, I can’t go to the nurse, I already used up my two passes for the fucking MONTH”

There was a student at my high school, who we will call John Doe, who actually did that. When teachers gave him a limited number of bathroom allowances (usually 3 per semester, which was the standard at my school), he would use them in the first week, and then induce vomitting my eating rotten food he found around the school garbage cans. If teachers refused to let him go, he would just throw up on something they had to touch. Light switches, keyboards, whatever was available.

Instead of making admin do anything about this toxic policy, they just doubled down harder, to the extent that one girl politely informed a teacher that she felt like she might be about to have a seizure and could she go to the nurse, please. She was denied, sat back down at her desk, and promptly passed out and concussed herself on the concrete floor when she fell. 

Another girl had severe vertigo-induced fainting, could not get a teacher to excuse her from a phys ed class, and fell off a monkey bars and split her head open, and nearly lost an eye because her glasses broke when she landed.

A student with, I believe, diabetes had a severe blood sugar drop and tried to eat a candy bar in a class with a “no food or drinks” rule. The candy bar was taken away, and she had to be taken out by EMTs. 

This kind of human rights abuse in public schools is not new. I graduated a full decade ago. 

I’m glad it’s being publically discussed again, (briefly around 2003-2005 this was also a popular subject of discussion). I hope that this time, concrete changes in policy are actually affected.

Going on Hiatus... but like probably for a very long time. Like. A looong time.

//And by that I mean, I won't be on Tumblr at all anymore, but I'm leaving my blog up in case I ever decide to come back to these characters. The thing is: I have an addiction to Tumblr. And it's been taking up a lot of my life. Literally browsing through Tumblr was keeping me from actually... drawing and writing replies...... for Tumblr. And as you can imagine, it's not just affected my online life, but my life when I get off too. I never get anything done on time, and even when I do I just feel... unfulfilled, when basically the only thing I do other than the necessities is stare at the screen all day looking at posts that I'll only remember a quarter of because of my awful memory.

I really don't want to leave Tumblr, but I have a naturally addictive personality. So I have a hard time... setting limits for myself. ^^; And to those who don't know, I actually have about six or seven blogs spread between two separate accounts. I can't keep up.

On one last note, I'm also not planning on finishing CCW as an official story. 😢😭 I really wanted to but... canon keeps changing big things (like Jewelry Bonney being a mother in canon now, and also apparently a queen?? But yeah that totally derailed a HUGE chunk of story line that would be extremely hard to fix. R.I.P. me). For now it's just going to be a personal thing between Sora's original creator and myself, and anyone else who might be interested in hearing the backstory stuff I had planned. If I do come back and actually write CCW in the future... It probably won't be until One Piece is finished. That way I won't have to worry about my story ending up... completely non-canon compliant. T^T

so, i gathered just a handful testimonials from replies and messages revealing just how unprofessional they are with their commission work by leaving their commissioners in silence for months. do not commission ghost-oakes unless you want to wait for months, watching them pump out other commissions and art while you twiddle your thumbs 

i have my own testimonial too: i had tried to order a holiday icon back when they were offering them. weeks went by and i heard nothing, no updates. all the while, they were creating gift icons for friends for free and other such art. when i finally did hear back, the holidays were over and i still got no visual progress (but i was told it was being worked on). they said they would finish it in a week - nothing. i asked them about it again, another week - still nothing. it wasn’t until i threatened to backdraft them (which in most cases i would NEVER do, but i felt it was my only option) that i got my money back.

God, the amount of people who have mentioned getting no or rushed work from him after needling him for months. He’s apparently now blocking some people he owes.

On top of that— I dunno if he still has this policy, but his TOS on FA at one point said that if you filed a chargeback, he got to keep your character to sell off as an adoptable.

That’s. Insane. Especially considering his work ethic.

Dude was fully ambulatory and able to work when I knew him in 2014 (despite claiming things like cancer, kidney problems and sepsis THE WHOLE TIME… SEPSIS, which shoulda had him hospitalized or dead) and combined with a history of lying about being a victim of other events and people, I’m very skeptical of his ever-evolving health claims.

In my experience, under stress he will basically read half a sentence and decide what the second half means on his own. Fact-checking isn’t his thing when threatened. My theory is that once he has a worry or concern, it becomes reality to him, and he defends the lie because he finds comfort in having a confirmation that the world is out to get him with minimal responsibility on his part.

Ghost-Oakes will take your commissions that he has no intention of fulfilling, and if you charge him back because He Is Not Doing His Job

He has set up his TOS to have the right to take your character(s) for himself to use and sell for his own profit

Ghost-Oakes will take your money, not do your commission, and then will steal your character if you attempt to get your money back

He’s a con-artist and a thief, and not even a subtle one. 

Even if it doesn’t fit your blog, please consider boosting this. Tell everyone you know. If you hear someone supporting him, shut them down. If someone’s talking about commissioning him, warn them of this. Petitions don’t do shit, the only way to stop people like this is to stop their income. Drag his reputation through the dirt until no one would even consider speaking to him. That’s the only way to end this.
