so when my teacher was in the 3rd grade he had this teacher who I will call ms landers. ms landers was in her 60s and also was kind of like the stern old teacher. so one day she was passing out papers and when she gets to this one kid and just passes out. being the 8 year olds that they were they had no idea anything was wrong so they were like âhahaâ but then 10 minutes passed and she still wasnt moving. at this point one kid suspected she was dead and asks my teacher to check. none of them know how to check a pulse so he kicks her. she doesnât budge. they tell him to kick again. he kicks her again but really hard. still doesnt move.
one girl tries to leave and then her cousin just TACKLES her to the ground. he asks her what shes doing and she says she is going to go tell the principal what happened. he tells her she canât go because then theyâll get in trouble because an adult will definitely think third graders killed their teacher somehow.
they then all make the unanimous decision to, instead of getting an adult, to try and stay put until it was time to go home.
so they stay in the classroom for hours. recess time comes, and they turn off the lights and put their heads down so any passing teachers would think they were in trouble. then lunchtime comes.
the staff and teachers realize ms landers class is not at the lunchroom. the principal comes to their room and sees that she is not there.
he asks one kid where she is and they burst into tears. and then since my teacher was the son of one of the teachers at that school, the principal asks him instead and he doesnât say anything. the principal keeps asking and there is no response.
then, he notices her feet sticking out somewhere.
so he finds her body, and then my teacher goes on to describe that the principal had that look on his face when something very, VERY bad happens and you try to keep a straight face to not scare the kids. he went and got another teacher to take them to lunch.
after that, they go outside until it was time to leave, and during that time the ambulance and the police both arrived.
the next day they have a new teacher, and some of the kids heard the principal joke to her âbe careful with them, they killed the last oneâ and like eight kids started crying.
when my teacher was in his 20s, his mom told him that if they had gotten someone immediately, ms landers couldve lived instead of dying in front of a bunch of little kids. keep in mind that my teacher kicked her a lot during the time they couldve been using to get someone.
and that was the story of when my economics teacher may or may not have aided in the death of his 3rd grade teacher on accident
