He nods and looks through her eyes seeing everything and once he’s done he takes a step back. “Thank you for this. I am in your debt Ysbryd. Is there anything I can give you to show my appreciation?”

                    She stood up and dusted herself off before collecting the dice and placing them back in the pouch her eyes withdrawn as she seemed to be stuck in contemplation to his question. “I imagine you are going to have an empty seat on your council now?” She alluded.

“Are you asking for a seat on the council? That’s a rather bold proposal.” He offers her a hand as she rose

He looked down scanning the visions. He was pleased to know her methods were not pure hoodoo although he never assumed that they were. Still he would need to wait and see how helpful and reliable her abilities were

                    She had a grimace when she found exactly what she was looking for then nodded. The perpetrator was more clever than anticipated. “The Perpetrator we seek is the gentleman with his hand in every cookie jar. Your Spy master Ezresor.” 

She took the dice and placed them back in the bag. “Your men were meant to find the correspondence. Which explains why everything was so specific and well planned but so easy to uncover. Its a bit of a master plan of his. He’s trying to up the threats, and up the misdirection so as to make you more erratic and on edge to the point of insanity. Make you shut everyone out till he can turn more and more against you until… he can get enough people against you to take the throne. Thats… the short summary of what I saw anyway…” She offered her hand as her eyes flashed a glowing azure “I can show you my vision if you don’t believe me.”

He nods and looks through her eyes seeing everything and once he’s done he takes a step back. “Thank you for this. I am in your debt Ysbryd. Is there anything I can give you to show my appreciation?”

The only surface was the marble floor of this balcony. He could feel things through the armor, he’d learned how over the centuries. It was not the same as real touch but it was like it. He felt at ease around her. For now he assumed it was simply because she posed no threat. To share such an intimate moment was reserved for lovers and pets and he saw her more like the later.

                     She let go of his hand to gently kneel on the floor before sitting side legged. She glanced at him from below where she was then returned her attention to the dice in hand before casting them. When they rolled she closed her eyes and began to divinate the images and visions that were cast out before her.

Getting this close to the king was a breach of protocol that could easily earn her a swift decapitation from his sword but he was without it and he understood what she was trying. He gave her his hand. “A messenger was intercepted leaving the castle by my spies. He carried instructions on the collection of payment for my death. No one could track down where this message was meant to go or from whence it came.”

                      “I see.” If he had sensation through the armour he would have felt her hands, soft and warm to the touch. She wasn’t looking to read palms as she would be unable to do so without removing armor - something she would not do. Instead her thumb caressed his palm, a show of softness and intimacy. She wished for him to be comfortable around her. 

“You have many enemies but this one… to be so bold.” She furrowed her brow and let go of his hand to retrieve something from her belt. A black leather bound pouch which she emptied to reveal ruinic dice carved out of gemstones. She looked around trying to figure out the best surface on which to roll them.

Refer to me as rattled again and I’ll dangle you over the side by your ears.” He considered hitting her but it wasn’t worth it. “This one comes from within my court if not the very room you saw me leave. That and the man I entrusted to uncover the traitors failed and is now decorating my door. That is why i now turn to an oracle.”

                     She furrowed her brow but chose to placate the monarch “It was poor wording, I am sorry. But I must know as much as I can in the way of details so that I can more accurately scry.” She stepped forward to close the distance between them, her ocean eyes meeting with his fields of green. “This kingdom is full of liars and murderers… That room? is full of the worst of them. That doesn’t narrow down my search. I want to help you… so please let me.” With those last words she offered out her hand.

                      She paused for a moment to furrow her brow. “My lord… I am to understand that you deal with death threats on the daily… what regarding this one had you so rattled that you would seek me?” She needed to know more details if she were to scry.

“I do not know what any business that is of yours.                     A question she knew she would inevitably hear. Many came to seek her counsel but all for the same reason. “That is correct. The goddess of fate lets me peer into the threads of all possible futures. And like to Loom it is my role to try decipher them and piece together the bigger picture.”

                      As he walked past her it was only then she regarded the corpse now stuck in the doorway. Though not wishing to keep her sovereign waiting she followed on behind him obediently. She caught up with his brisk pace however remained silent, waiting to be spoken to.

Ys was standing inside the castle of the great witch king. He was in the midst of a discussion with his inner most advisors. She could hear shouting from inside the walls. And swords drawn. A sword tip struck through the wooden door. Suddenly it opens with a dead man pinned to it by the witch king’s blade. He stepped out into the hall. He turned and saw her with his burning green eyes “you, What’s your name!?”

                     There wasn’t much that separated Ysbryd looks-wise from the other Supreme Sorceresses. None that you could notice unless you had frequent interaction with them. But what you could note from her appearance was that Ysbryd was young. Younger than most of her station which meant one of two things - she was either very naive or very powerful. 

Blue stormy eyes met with Malekith’s own burning emerald hues, her own gaze so much softer than his - like still ocean pools running deep only to shift with the ocean squalls. “Ysbryd Furorborn, my lord.” She took no notice of the dead - dying elf at the end of Malekith’s sword. To be a member of the Obsidian table was to dance with death itself daily, this she knew. Ysbryd curtseyed Her head bowing in respect.
