You knew this was coming.

Believe it or not, I was actually planning to still give this blog a proper ending even after all this time, it’s the reason I have yet to make a post about this blog being dead. Though tumblr has decidedly forced my hand in the matter, so with time running short(and me getting distracted by smash bros.) this is how we sadly part ways.

It’s not necessarily that I got burnt out on ponies(though that is one reason), but more the fact that I realized there are other areas with my art I’d much rather be focusing on. Getting a job in games is something I’ve always wanted, and I realized the more time I spent doing this, the less time I was spending trying to achieve that. Though I absolutely had a blast running this thing, and if I had the choice to do it again I would.   

It honestly still blows my mind that so many of you decided to follow my blog about a dumb little horse making dumb tabletop jokes. So more than anything, I wanna thank each and every one of you for following me here, it means the world to me. Though I’m not exactly going anywhere, so that being said, what’s next?

Update on status of blog

((So I was originally planning on making this post after my Halloween update, however due to a long series of delays caused by extraneous life happenings, its gonna end up being a day or two late. 

After the Halloween update I’m planning trying to keep to a regular update schedule for this blog! I really need to start working on bettering my work ethic, and holding myself to regular updates is a good start to that. I’m gonna start off slow with updates every other week, and hopefully get to the point where I can do weekly and even bi-weekly updates.

Oh, and I’m also gonna be wiping my inbox when I start getting back into the swing of things. I’ll make a small update when I do, so have your questions ready for when that happens!))

Well, it’s obvious to me at this point that I’m never going to finish all the style emulations I was planning on doing, so I’ll just post the ones I managed to finish as opposed to letting them rot in my computer forever. This round(the ones I finished anyway) I tried to emulate the styles of artists that I really like!

Artists emulated here are raikissu, kindahernyart(I know he stopped drawing horses but the way he drew them was still rad), karpetshark, braeburned, and egophiliac!

So I’m doing a boatload of style emulations for practice, and decided to make the first set feature art friends! Took up one space with my style to better judge how well I did and to set a baseline.

Life update and when to expect active updating again

Hey everyone! Man it sure has been a while since I was posting stuff regularly on here huh? I figure I owe you a bit of an explanation as to why I've been inactive for so long, and also give you some kind of timetable for when you can expect me back. This is gonna be long-ish, so I’ll hide it under a read more. Though the Short version is that I moved out and had to get some important things taken care of, and will be posting again after I'm done with all the art practice I wanna do.

First things first, let's get to the life stuff that's been keeping me busy. Around a month ago I moved into an apartment of my own, and with that apartment comes the many responsibilities of being an adult, which take up a decent portion of my day. I also had to get myself internet, a job, a car to get to said job, and car insurance for said car. Thankfully I'm pretty sure I got everything taken care of at this point, so I should be fairly free to get back on track.

And now lets get to the timetable of things I wanna do, so you guys have a general idea of when to expect me back.

Style emulation practice- The main thing that I wanna do before getting back to this is some practice to try and better some weaker aspects of my art. One of the big things I'm gonna do that'll take up some time is doing a bunch of style emulation. I feel my style really hasn't changed all that much, and I think doing a bunch of emulation will help me feel more comfortable making changes to the way I do things and potentially even get a few ideas. Again, I plan on doing a few of these and plan on taking the time to do them right, so this might take a few weeks. 

Painting practice- I've only done a few paintings before but it's something I really enjoyed doing, so I wanna start doing it a bit more regularly. I plan on doing a portrait and couple landscapes/speedpaints, as well as doing material/texture practice. This probably wont take too long, maybe a week and a half or so. After which I will probably do a painting for what I wanna do after this, which leads me into...

Update my commission info- My prices and everything else is gonna stay the same(at least for now), though I wanna add in the option to get a painting along with what I already offer. I dunno if I'm gonna completely redo my commission info layout yet, but either way it wont take long to incorporate into my info. A day or two at most.

And that should be the last thing! After that I'll get to work on the follower update and after I post that I'll re-open commissions back up! So it's still gonna be about a month before I get back to it, though if all goes well it'll be noticeably better than ever before!

Icon commissions!

Hey everyone! I’ve got some things I wanna do to better myself as an artist before getting back to full blown commissions, though I figured something I could do in the meantime was do icon commissions! The icons will be $10 each, and they’ll look a little something like this!

I’ll be using my normal rules and process for commissions, which you can find here! They’ll also be limited to one character, since the entire idea behind this is that it’s something I can do between practice. If you’re interested or have any questions shoot me an ask, or send me an email at [email protected]!
