about 3/4 of the way through the book, i love it so much. a lot more than the movie, which is crazy cus i loved the movie, though on rewatch it doesnt hold up as well and i dont love how Grace acts towards the beginning. he's oddly dumber in the movie, which could be because they dont show all the complex math that he does to figure all the stuff out like the book does. ALSO THE MOVIE NEVER MENTIONS ROCKY WAS THERE FOR 40 YEARS BY HIMSELF????? its a travesty and genuinely shocked me when i first read it.

it also shows Grace needing the laptop to communicate with Rocky for a long time after he abandons it jn the book. its probably to keep the voice making sense, but i wish he stopped using it and there was just a voice over or something. they're mostly minor nitpicks, but i like how the flight over Adrian goes more in the book and how Rocky and Grace save each other there because it makes more logical sense than breaking the barrier between a highly pressurized 200 C, ammonia filled tube. not a huge deal and it really never takes me out of the movie, but i am loving the book. Rocky and Grace are everything as always, and Stratt is still my favorite by far.
