If you are learning another language and getting discouraged, remember that what you are doing is extraordinary! Learning another language is not easy. It may seem hard now, but with a little hard work you will be able to communicate with an entire population of people in no time. Don’t forget to have fun with it.
These bans sound eco-friendly, and they're trendy, but they completely disregard the needs of the disabled who live in or visit strawless locales.
“It’s an insult, I believe, to completely ignore the needs of a significant part of the population.”
i can’t 😂😂😂😂
Dear Bilingual people
What language do you think in?

There are said to be 300,000 certified lawyers currently working in China. However, almost none of them are qualified to represent hard-of-hearing clients, who are often unaware of their legal rights, and with no one to turn to when they fall victim to fraud or discrimination. Tang Shuai is the only known Chinese lawyer who is fluent in both forms of Chinese sign language, and he has made it his career's mission to assist the hard of hearing however possible. In this episode, we accompany the lawyer determined to create new dialogue within the Chinese legal system.
(The language such as ‘hearing-impaired’ or ‘Able-bodied’ are used in this video.)
What We Do ASLasl offers an array of Classes Workshops Presentations Staff Trainings that use American Sign language as a tool to help infants, students, adults, educators, and other professionals improve upon daily tasks and help with overall communication.

i’ve stopped trash talking comic sans after learning the font is actually one of the only dyslexia-friendly fonts that come standard with most computers and i advocate for others doing the same
In the event that you would like to continue hating Comic Sans, other dyslexia-friendly alternatives include Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, Century Gothic and Trebuchet.
thank
Random fact: Verdana is one of the few fonts which was specifically designed to be as easy to read as possible, even at smaller type sizes. It was designed this way for use on screen, but the same principles apply in print too. This is part of why some Universities use Verdana as their default font for documents.
“In the event that you would like to continue hating Comic Sans” is one of the best things I’ve ever read on this website
@pedeka @lunariagold @darklittlestories
I’ll take Comic Sans over Arial any day.
Century Gothic and Trebuchet are both quite handsome typefaces.
I’m partial to Century Gothic as well. It’s serif, but not boring.
There’s also a dyslexic font designed especially for dyslexic people to read.
You can install on your tablets, laptops and browers etc, so not only can you change things like documents into it, you can change websites into that font as well!
I’m sure you’re bright enough to do a google search, but since I’m dumb enough to forget to post a link, here it is. Better late than never
https://www.dyslexiefont.com/en/dyslexie-font/
I default to arial for this reason, but I will now be defaulting to verdana or dyslexie. nice.
I don’t think I have dyslexia but that dyslexie font was the easiest fucking thing to read ever. Books should be written in that shit.
ALSO!!!
For computer reading, when you mix up lines of text, there’s a web browser app called Beeline Reader. It looks like this
The colors are also customizable, to an extent and while I don’t have dyslexia, I have adhd which makes reading large amounts of text harder and this helps A LOT.
This is dope. I freaking love how much more accessible this information is nowadays.
for our dyslexic ravens.
Please, reblog! IIt’s called self defense. Apart from having here, in the US, one of the highest cases of homicide and rape in the world and high rate of GBV, think about how this could help your mother or sister
Yes indeed#💯💯💯💯💯

Learning a new language should not be a race to fluency. Enjoy learning new words and making new connections! Don’t get frustrated with yourself, take things slow and have fun with it.

Pride month is about to hit the west coast and I thought I’d make a little list of the word “pride” in a bunch of different languages. I hate that I need to explain it but y’all know how people be so uh obviously I don’t speak all these languages I used a translator for the VAST majority of these and if there are some mistakes please make me aware and I can fix it ASAP! I know the word may be different in some languages in the context of “LGBT/Gay Pride” (many languages use the English term or other terms that are separate from just a direct translation of pride) and I will correct them if there is a better term but it’s hard to directly translate into so many languages!!
Did I do a thing
