Today, we'd like to share with you an interview with the authors Álvaro Enrigue and Carmen Boullosa, novelista y poeta that was produced as part of an episode of "Nueva York" through CUNY TV. Both authors have visited us before at the Americas Society, but on March 27th, Professor Enrigue will join other authors and translators published by Dalkey Archive Press to discuss his book HYPOTHERMIA (Dalkey Archive Press, 2013). If you haven't read it yet, we suggest that you do so! It's full of easy-to-read, yet enthralling "mini-novels" that will certainly turn any reader into a fan of Professor Enrigue's!

In keeping with this week's "theme" of author interviews, check out this interesting, yet controversial, clip of an interview with Jorge Luis Borges and William F. Buckly Jr. on FIRING LINE. In it, Jorge Luis Borges speaks about his political views during the late 1970s, views which, some say, ended up tarnishing his reputation. What do you think?
Interested in philosophical works of fiction? Are you a fan of Brazilian author Clarice Lispector? Then you will definitely enjoy this interview with Clarice Lispector (São Paolo, Brazil 1977), one of the only interviews recorded with the author before her untimely death in 1977. Also, be sure to check out five new translations by New Directions Publishing of some of her most important works. If you like, you can even check out some pictures from our celebration event with New Directions Publishing in our Facebook album called "Clarice Lispector: Celebrating Five New Translations." Enjoy!
Just to give you guys another reason why you should come to our first event on March 21st, here we have a YouTube clip of Roger Santiváñez. In the clip, the poet recites his poem "El chico que se declaraba con la mirada." (This clip is only available in Spanish.) Enjoy, and don't forget to register for the event!
