CHAIN OF IRON BINGO!!!
Waiting on COI is driving me crazy, so I watched way too much content and reread way too many books to put together a theory Chain of Iron BINGO ❤️❤️
I did a doodle and no doodle version:
i think the problem with heesung being the centre was that he, out of nowhere, started to presume the leader role. let’s take BTS for example, jk is the centre but do we see him commanding everyone and take charge? no, it’s jhope we see more taking the lead in fixing performance/tightening choreos. and even so, it doesn’t have the vibe that heesung showed where he openly criticized everyone and decided who’s good and who’s not. we often see in bts’ behind videos where they ALL collectively give suggestions and then agree on one solution. the tension was just through the roof for the i-landers. so in short, i feel like the i-landers are taking themselves way too seriously. meanwhile, the grounders are having so much fun, genuinely forming a bond between everyone.
ok ok hear me out- i know there are a ton of posts going around about things people are afraid SJM will write into the Nessian book but the one really big thing i really do hope SJM doesn’t do in ACOSF is have Nesta “fix” all the issues in Illyria. ok, now keep hearing me out: yes, this would be a good plot point for Nesta to be badass and show off her (possible, hinted at) healing and fancy magical powers, BUT AS READERS, we have to understand that either:
1. SJM coded the Illyrians as POC or
2. the Illyrians are not a community of color at all.
personally, i am leaning towards the first option- SJM world building (i think? i’m not a writer) the Illyrians so far has presented them as the equivalent to a POC community. there are some issues there (Illyria is, quite frankly, a mess, it’s thinking is backwards, it mistreats it’s women/females, it’s a war state, it seems almost like a colony under the Night Court- all separate issues that should really be addressed but probably won’t be) BUT, if this were the case, this could be a plot point for Illyria itself. by this i mean mostly excluding Nesta. I like Nesta. i am so excited for her storyline. but right now i am mostly seeing two ways for the Illyria problem to be solved involving Nesta as a main character within the issue- if she is the one “fixing” Illyria, we as readers should also think about how this makes her:
1. a (SJM world equivalent) White Savior (really not a good option and i hope this doesn’t happen)/
2. a (yikes) colonizer (in that she is “saving” a “backwards people/culture” from themselves by introducing Standardized Other Ideals as what should be the accepted norm)
i feel like i don’t have to explain how this would be extremely problematic, especially given the state of the US in the past, currently, and most definitely for the foreseeable future. i cannot even begin to explain how damaging and disappointing it would be to read about a non-Illyrian character being the sole cause for change and “goodness” in a coded POC community. yuck.
BUT here’s what could happen!!!! that would include Nesta going to the mountains:
1. NESTA is the one who is saved by the Illyrians. because there is no way half the population (the women and other oppressed members ) are totally on board with the current situation. give me Illyrian girls who, tired of the shit they have to go through, are organizing change all on their own! give me these girls (exhausted from fighting everyday) meeting a (we have to face it, somewhat privileged) Nesta and forcing her to recognize her privilege and become a better person! (i feel like this could possibly also lead to Nesta helping out the movement- not as the Powerful Witch Savior, but as one ALLY and ADVOCATE in a LARGER MOVEMENT. (because you can acknowledge an issue and actively help it WITHOUT stealing full responsibility of it.))
2. give me Illyria that is already ready to change on its own. from what we have learned from SJM’s world building, it’s been under Night Court control for centuries. idk about y’all, but something about that really doesn’t sit right with me. some members of the fandom want Nesta away from the Inner Circle? an Illyrian Independence movement would be a great move then! give me Nesta who is, again, a great HELPER to the Illyrians (i have some... personal issues with her being Queen- but she can still have a place in Illyria! she can be an advisor! an emissary! a tactician! heck, even a plain old librarian if that is the position she is best suited for- but make it appropriate, and make her respect that she does not have to be the capital H Hero in Illyria’s movement). BUT GIVE ME A PART OF ILLYRIA THAT ISNT JUST “woman oppressing soldiers” because we have to acknowledge that’s at least a little bit problematic, especially because the Night Court has presented as the “necessary power to keep everything in control, boo hoo what would Illyria do without Night Court interference”
3. LITERALLY ANYTHING!!!!! ANYTHING that doesn’t have Nesta as the all powerful savior of Illyria. That doesn’t have members of the Night Court/Inner Circle as the Fancy Heroes off to save Poor Misguided Illyria (though i will admit it will be interesting to see how SJM uses Cassian (who loves and genuinely wants the best for Illyria as a member of the community) Rhysand (who is half Illyrian and in real actual power and must deal with both sides of the issue) and Azriel (who has been alienated from that aspect of his identity) in the coming conflict. )
personally, as much as i’d love to see Nesta not go to the mountains and war camps at all, i’m pretty sure that’s the direction the book is going. i just really hope it’s not in a way that proposes the ACOTAR equivalent of white saviorism as the solution. because, especially right now, that is the last possible thing we need. and obviously, she is the main character of the book. we aren’t going to get an Illyrian Revolution book (which as much as i’d love that, i’m totally ready for Nessian to become a healthy viable relationship instead of the toxic hot mess it is right now) but we could very well get pieces of that as background/plot in the novel- and i feel that Nesta really should NOT be the main hero of that movement.
This was exactly the issue I had in my fanfic. I absolutely didn't want Nesta to go in and fix everyones problems.
Lately, there has been an increase in people who hate Nesta, people saying she is horrible, cruel or even abusive and that they don't understand how anyone can like her. I think the issue here is that these people tend to base their opinion mostly on Book-1-Nesta. Which is a problem, because Book-3-Nesta is very different from Book-1-Nesta.
In the beginning of acotar, Nesta was cruel. No matter what you think of Feyre or Nesta, calling your younger sister who is currently making sure you don't starve names (for things that are a direct result of her actions to protect her family no less) is not okay. Not helping around the house is not okay. It was never Nesta's responsibility to go hunting, just as it wasn't Feyre's, but she could have chopped wood etc. without complaining (same as Elain). Even then, I wouldn't call what Nesta did abuse, but I think we can all agree that it was wrong.
But really, I don't know a single person who loves Nesta for her actions in the beginning of acotar. People like her for what she did later and for the person she becomes.
First off, focusing on actions: Here is a list of good things Nesta did:
Was willing to cross the Wall and risk her life to save Feyre after she was taken away.
Agreed to hold the meetinng with the Queens in her house. (She didn't want to at first, but who can blame her? Humans have every right to be scared of Fae. In the end, she agreed and that's what counts.)
Trained to fix the Wall.
Agreed to go to the meeting and tell her story, something she was deeply uncomfortable with.
Spoke out to convince Beron to stay and fight.
Helped with the wounded after the battles.
Searched for the Cauldron to find the army, something that must have been traumatic for her given her experiences with the Cauldron.
Was ready to help nullify the Cauldron's power.
Was willing to DIE as a diversion. Killed the King. Without her, the battle (and the war) might have ended differently.
Weighing that against the wrong things she did in the beginning, I think the result is pretty clear. And no one dare say she did "the bare minimum". Then you have to say the same thing about Feyre, Rhys and everyone else.
But it wasn't just her actions that changed, but also her general behaviour. From acowar on, Nesta wasn't cruel anymore. She was still cold, yes, and brutally honest (borderline insulting at worst), but never cruel. Also, she showes gratitude to Feyre for what she did, shows regret and shows that she cares again and again (especially about Cassian). Maybe she does not do it as openly as others, but she just isn't an open person.
In my opinion, Nesta in acowar is not that different from Amren by way of behaviour.
I know that some people see Nesta still taking Feyre's money as a sign that she hasn't changed, but I actually don't think that's the case. Nesta should work, sure (if only because I think some routine would be good for her). But no one expects Elain to work, either. Because they were both thrown into a strange world they don't understand and should be given time to adapt. Besides, while I think Feyre personally isn't responsible for her sisters, the Night Court is. When they held the meeting, one of Nesta's conditions was that they take precautions should things go badly. They obviously didn't (at least not enough). And I think the Night Court is responsible for what happened to Nesta and Elain in the same way that Feyre is responsible for what happened to Clare Beddor - not guilty of the harm that happened, but still part of the reason. So, for that and for what Nesta did during the war, paying her a monthly sum for a span of, say, two years she can use to adapt should not be too much to ask. (It's not like they are poor, you know.)
I can, of course, understand and respect if people dislike Nesta. In fact, anyone can dislike any character (that's the fun thing with all these morrally gray people - there's always reason to like AND dislike them). But, even if you dislike a character, you should be able to recognize why people like them and not demonize the character to justify your opinion. Nesta isn't horrible. She did wrong things (and if you dislike her for them, that's fine), but she also bravely fought in the war and she changed. She, like every character in acotar, is morally grey - and whether you like her or not, you should be able to recognize that.

Nesta is a complicated, interesting character capable of growth and kindness and to my last breath I will defend her.
Bang PD Daddy’s I-Land
Good, Bad, or Toxic??
So I just finished watching the first episode of mnet’s I-Land - a new survival show co-run by BigHit - and I had some thoughts about it. For some reason, literally no one is posting about this show, so I’m here to provide you CONTENT 👏👏🔥
Spoilers <3
The Pros:
So let’s start out with some positives! For one, I think it’s super exciting to get a survival show joint with Big Hit since both BTS and TXT were done through a private line up. I used to be a big fan or the Produce series before the contraversies - in fact, IOI which was made from the first Produce 101 season was and still is my top girl group. I’ve always enjoyed gg music, MAMAMOO or BLACKPINK for example slap, but the only girl group I’ve ever actually stanned was IOI. I think survival series can be done well and are a great way to not only fuel excitement over a new group but also easily grant the public better access towards getting to know the future group members on a more personal scale. The second thing that I find positive about I-Land are the producers. The producers, ZICO, Rain, and Bang PD Daddy, are all in agreement that they aren’t searching for outright talent, but instead for the potential of both skill and character growth. They value a genuine passion for music as well as their ability to interact as a team above all else which personally I find unique to the show.
The Cons:
Unfortunately, I have a lot of concerns for the longevity of this show - escpecially regarding the trainees wellbeing, their mental states, and their growth as a team. The concept of the participants choosing the final members sounds good in theory, but the show over does it with the “class” separation between the “I-Land” and the “ground” trainees for it to work well. The spread of paranoia for which trainee might be voted out of “I-Land” and thrown to the “ground” where the facility is basically non existent and the ground trainees are told that if they remain there they will have zero chance of debuting through this program completely eliminates any chance of trust between the boys. If they are supposed to weed out who they themselves want for the final members, they need to learn to trust one another so that real relationships can be built on a more equal playing field. I’m not saying that they shouldn’t separate the boys at all, just that the divide between the “I-land” facility and the “ground” is too extreme to work well; it has the potential to foster up some envy and resentment towards one another rather than motivate the trainees that might fall. The show’s concept of this class separation makes it incredibly difficult because the boys focus won’t be on how to perform better, grow, and learn to lean on one another but instead how to create allies and fend for themselves first no matter the cost. We even see that with the end of the first episode where one of the boys votes out the youngest member, someone who minutes before was talking about how the two of them have been close for years and he’s the only trainee he really trusts at I-Land. Of course I’m willing to see where the show goes: maybe I’m wrong about this and the boys will be able to overcome the show’s system. Lastly, the fact that the boys themselves have to not only get to know each other, but then vote out their friends who have the exact same dream as their own, knowing just how much work and sweat they’ve put into getting as far as they have, and then crush their chance of debut: that must be heartbreaking. I couldn’t even imagine it; how hard that must be. It’s cruel because of how difficult the idol trainee process is in kpop - all of them can relate to it. But what do you think? Do you think the shows premise is straining on their relationships with one another or do you view it more as an opportunity?
My Current Favs as of Episode One
Daniel: my boy has straight up leader vibes and I 👏 am 👏 with 👏 it 👏
Jake: he was one of the first boys to really reach out to one of the other trainee trios and starting talking with them. He just seems like a genuine, good guy and so I’m excited to see how he interacts with everyone.
And then the two boys who came together in the Pink and Blue matching shirts. I can’t remember their names for the life of me but they showed up to I-Land holding hands and I just live for the 5 feet apart hot tub vibe going on so I stan. Bros being dudes and dudes being bros wholesome edition 🥺🥂
Let me know your thoughts! Who are you looking forward to? What do you think of the show’s concept: healthy or not? Anyone excited for episode 2?
Congratulation to THE BOYZ for winning Road To Kingdom
These edits are gorgeous!!!
I honestly didn’t know about The Boyz until Road To Kingdom - I’ll make a separate post about this later to go more in depth - but now I’m addicted to their music, their shows, and just them. Same with ONF. It makes me happy to find groups that make me so excited for everything they’ll come out with and do. It’s been a hot minute since I fully found a new group or artist to fully stan, so I’m thankful for the show and the positive side of the fandom around it ❤️❤️
Because so many Deobis were saying they wanted to burn the branch that made Juyeon cry.
The performance was great nonetheless!!
THE BOYZ TO KINGDOM! FIGHTING!
This is like the cutest thing I’ve seen all day 🥺
Road to Kingdom Groups as Types of People at School
Pentagon- The seniors everybody loves and scared of
ONF- The guys who are always getting yelled at for being too loud
Golden Child- The guys who make friends with everyone
The Boyz- The gang everyone is truly afraid of. Always slay at the school dance competitions
Oneus- The people who are lowkey on the brink of failing but always pull through during finals
Verivery- The friends that always get the same schedule somehow, every year
TOO- The new transfer students that everyone is in love with
I love this omg 😂❤️
Kingdom Groups
Here are my guesses for groups that might appear on Kingdom as of right now. Comment who else you think might join!
Likely
Ateez (rumored to be on the show)
Victon - Victon has been an active group for about 3 years and has slowly gained traction and a footing in Korea. The only thing that might be a conflict is that they have a June comeback scheduled which might not give them enough time to compete in the show between promotions. (Credit for adding the group: @madpenfan)
AB6ix - AB6ix is a group that has two former wanna one members and has done fairly well in Korea. They are more popular in Korea than internationally; AB6ix have built a name for themselves in Korea so I could see them joining the program to expand their international fan base
Possibly
Stray Kidz - I could see Stray Kidz joining the show if Got7 isn’t on it. JYP is very easy going creatively with Stray Kidz so if they as a group would want to do it - which it seems like something they’d find fun tbh - then I don’t see JYP stopping them. The group is internationally popular and has a unique color which has made them known in Korea. The only thing is that Stray Kidz are prepping a comeback for June which would conflict with the show’s filming.
Kang Daniel - [soloist] Kang Daniel was the center of Produce 101 Season 2’s winning group, Wanna One. After his debut with the group, Kang Daniel’s popularity sky rocketed and he charted number one on the male idol index for months - above BTS’s Jimin. After Wanna One’s disbandment, Daniel had some disputes with his agency which ended with him leaving the company. This slowed his career down and I could see him going onto the show to reclaim that fame as a survive show worked well for him in the past. (Credit for adding Kang Daniel to the list: @madpenfan)
Nu’est - Nu’est has appeared on a survival show before, Produce 101 Season 2, and it did extremely well for them. Their popularity sky rocketed and their comebacks were receiving more wins than ever before. Personally, I feel like that hype escaped them a little bit since Wanna One disbanded, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d go onto another survival show hoping to get that boost again.
Astro - so Astro is not really that well known of a group which is why it’d make more sense for them to have been on rtk than Kingdom, but Cha Eun Woo is extremely popular in Korea. Astro is still an active group and would definitely jump at the opportunity of a show like this. So would their company to be honest since their agency is currently in a bad financial situation. The popularity of Cha Eun Woo might have been the dividing factor between rtk and Kingdom. This one is a little bit more up in the air than the others but I wouldn’t be too surprised if I saw them there.
A Stretch But I Could See It
Monsta X - they might be a little to big global wise but I could also see them participating
Seventeen- this one is a little less likely but with their promotions starting back up I could see them competing to bring back the hype for the group. They’ve been a little inactive with comebacks recently so with that in mind it’s possible they’d join the show. Edit - they have a comeback on June 22, so schedule wise appearing on the show might not be possible. But, again, I wouldn’t be too surprised if I saw them there.
Got7 - Got7 could be the MAMAMOO of Kingdom. They are respected in the field and have been relevant in the scene for a while. Also, they seem more Korea based than Monsta X, even though they’re more famous internationally. If stray kidz aren’t on the show, Got7 could be instead as a “top dog” group to stir things up as MAMAMOO had. Lastly, Jackson seems like he would be down to do it depending on their group schedule.
TXT - so TXT I could see them possibly appearing on the show. I feel like they have so many colors and still have that rookie mindset of wanting to show as much as they can as fast as they can which is why a program like this might appeal to them. They also won rookie of the year award with their debut for male groups. The thing is BTS, their senior group, is notoriously known for staying away from variety shows so idk if TXT might try and follow down that same lane. But on the other hand, I think the show could give them an edge to really further individualize themselves apart from being “BTS’ Junior Group.” (Credit for TXT addition to the list: @madpenfan)
No Way
BTS - they’re way too big for the show and ARMY would destroy mnet’s webpage for days to vote. Also, BTS’s schedules are filled with prepping for the new album. I don’t see what they’d benefit from with being on the show and then there’s also the fact that they rarely do variety shows outside of their company in the first place.
EXO - same reasoning as BTS, they’re just too big and already so respected as a senior group so I don’t see them joining.
NCT - now this one goes with EXO a little bit; it has more to do with SM than anything else. I think the NCT members would be totally down for the show, in fact I think it’s perfect for a group like NCT that can show so many different colors because of their concept, but SM wouldn’t take the chance that NCT might have a round that doesn’t live up to their hype. The company is very much about SM pride and saving face over anything else so while NCT would probably do really well on the show, I don’t see SM letting them participate.
Let me know your thoughts, if you agree or disagree, and who you think might join the show!
Who’s Gonna Win??
So I’ve been watching Road To Kingdom like a crack addicting, and to be honest, after ep6, I have no idea anymore.
I feel like all of us were pretty sure The Boyz were a for sure for Kingdom and then there was leeway for another group to make it without the overall score, but after episode six, it’s really anyone’s game.
For me personally, the two groups I want to win the most are The Boyz and ONF, but I have a feeling that the show will keep throwing point twist that give everyone an opportunity to win. Which is great but also like WHO’S AT THE LEAD THEN?! I’m not great with anticipation so I like having some sort of idea but Mnet is just like to fuck with making this show even a little bit predictable 😭😭
THINGS I HOPE TO SEE (OR NOT) IN ACOTAR4
Nesta NOT STAYING AT THE ILLYRIANS MOUNTAINS for long, and travelling to other courts or the continent instead so she sees the world just like she wanted to do before the war. I think sending her away to a cold mountain surrounded by misogynistic warriors who hate her and are scared of her was a stupid af decision. Especially when it's a war camp and war triggers her PTSD. Oh and let's not forget there's a revolution about to take place. I see it as a very forced way of the narrative to make cassian and nesta interact. I understand an unexpected turn of events was needed as a beginning for acotar4, but going to the mountains shouldn't be anything more than a beginning that quickly leads us to another location. We've been told many times that nesta is "illyrian at heart" but I don't buy it. She isn't such thing, and her character is way too complex and interesting and has too much potential to just make her fit into a culture she doesn't belong to and has nothing in common with (it's stupid to think a place that reveres war and bloodshed will help her heal).
Besides, after all the places the previous books introduced I think it would be boring to stick to the same court. I loved Velaris but now that Feyre's story has ended it's time to move on. Not to mention that the Night Court is the worst place for Nesta, it reminds her of all her trauma and its high lord is a male she despises. Nesta needs to go somewhere else where she can recover her spirit and independence, and be free of the commands of a male that gives her orders as if she were her subject (she is not).
Hopefully, knowing how much sjm loves plot twists and given how she's already told us where nesta is supposed to go, it won't stay like that for long.
NO TRAINING. Maybe learning self defense techniques but that's as far as I'll go. No training to turn her into an almighty warrior. Nesta has power from literally the mightiest magic device in the world, and you're telling me getting beat on a ring will empower her?? Even when she's previously stated her refusal to train and said fighting isn't the only thing that makes someone strong?? And we're talking about Nesta, whose powers make her lethal. Making Nesta train would butcher her character and istg if they pull the "fighting helps her go back to her old self and empowers her" I will lose it. Enough with making that troupe work for everyone. We've seen it before and it has worked out well for other character, but in this case it wouldn't feel right and would be boring af.
I've seen a few people say they want Nesta to command the Illyrians, and help with the whole misogynist issue they have, or that she should do the Blood Rite I don't know if the name is correct, I don't remember it to gain the respect of the warriors. How should I put this: NO. This is more of the "Nesta is Illyrian at heart" bullshit Rhysass likes to pull, when what he actually means is that she is proud and stubborn. She, and I can't stress this enough, is not Illyrian. She shouldn't be participating in traditions she doesn't understand and doesn't engage in (she doesn't want to learn how to fight for fuck's sake) and we certainly don't need nesta to pull a white saviour behavior. I don't want her to come and solve a centuries old problem of a culture she doesn't belong to. And I don't see how she could do that in a credible way either, given how they all are terrified and wary of her. This also applies to the rioting issue that is looming over the illyrian camps.
Nesta healing and improving her mental health with cassian at her side to support her, without making him the reason why she gets better. And showing the effects war has on a veteran as Cassian too.
Someone, preferably Nesta, calling out Feyre, Rhysass and the rest of the IC on their shitty behavior and actions, and the narrative finally acknowledging their mistakes and portraying them as the deeply flawed characters they are. Now that we don't have Feyre's POV anymore there are no excuses for condoning their shit.
Cassian realising he has judged, ignored and said cruel things (like he doesn't know why her sisters love her are u kidding me) to Nesta and how he hasn't stood up for her before his friends. Oh and how he ignores her when Mor is present. I'm a sucker for nessian, but before they are a thing, he should apologize. I don't like how he treats nesta poorly and then expects her to love him, when she doesn't owe him shit. It's selfish of him to expect her to fit into his family even when they all hate her. I hope acotar4 handles well these issues. And I can't wait too read Nesta's POV and know why she didn't want to be close to Cassian after the war.
Nesta making new friends on her own, people who respect her and love her. I love nessian but I don't want their relationship to be the only deep interaction and relationship Nesta has. I would LOVE to see her and lucien become best friends (they were supposed to be lovers after all, and although a romantic relationship has been dismissed I'm sure their friendship dynamic would be amazing), or get acquainted with Helion or even Azriel. She needs to meet new people, and preferably not from the night court.
We've read many times how Nesta's powers are described as great and terrible. The source of her power is the fucking cauldron, used to create the world. Even tho no one knows yet what those powers are exactly, she has used them to turn hundreds of soldiers to ashes and even the bone carver, a death GOD, has spoken of the way the earth trembled at her power when Nesta was made. I want these powers to be a huuge part of the plot in this book. I want Nesta to master them fully, and for us to see the process. I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks like this, but when Feyre discovered she had powers from all the high lords, it seemed to me that she mastered them too quickly. I was hoping to get more attention on that issue, but it got dismissed quite quickly. Now that it's Nesta's time, I want the book to fully focus on these powers. Oh, and what I want the most is my baby to become the most powerful creature in the continent. More mighty than Rhysass and the other high lords by far. You can't give us a whole book preaching how nesta is really powerful, and how she took something from the cauldron that made the earth tremble, and then turn her into a common witch or something similar. I mean you can't expect me to believe the high lords have more power than the cauldron.
Although I find that to be another plot hole, bc the cauldron was supposed to be almighty but then Rhys and Feyre restored it when it broke?? Does that mean they are more powerfull than the object that created their world?? If that is so, they why didn't they win against hybern sooner??
Anyways, I want Nesta to never have to bow to anyone. Ever.
Well that is what I'd like to see in the next book. Which, based on the information we have, is basically the opposite of what will happen. As far as we know, sjm said there would be a lot of training in this book (I assume she was talking about Nesta) so there goes the chance of her not been a warrior. We know she'll go to Illyria, and although it's my hope she leaves soon or that she never goes in the first place, I know that's not what's going to happen.
And then there's the sex. Sjm said she had to delete some of the sex scenes bc her editor said they were too much and unnecessary. Which means there are still plenty of sex scenes in the books, as sjm confirmed. Don't get me wrong, smut is fine if handled correctly. But I don't think it will he handled correctly.
In fact, I think acotar4 will be placed on illyria the whole book or at least a huge part of it, and that we'll have lots of unnecessary and meaningless sex scenes inside of Cassian's cabin in the mountains instead of a well written and interesting plot, a well developed and complex relationship between the characters and a well handled depiction of PTSD and trauma healing.
In my mind it'll go like this:
Nesta arrives in the mountains. She and cassian are mean to each other for a while and the sexual tension is pretty obvious between them. Nesta starts training. At the beginning she hates it but over time she ends up loving it and excelling. Sex. Nesta makes a few friends between the illyrian female warriors she trains with, whose characters are shallow and totally secondary. Sex. More sex. Maybe something about Nesta's powers. A scene where cassian and nesta have an openhearted conversation about their relationship. Cassian never acknowledges how he treated Nesta, but she will apologise to him for how she kept him away. This leads to more sex. Nesta makes up with feyre, and apologies to her for being mean or whatever sjm comes up with. Feyre doesn't apologize back, or it's a shitty apologize for sure. Sex. Nesta stablish a cordial although cold relationship with Rhysass and Mor bc apparently she and Az are not destined to interact (even tho Az would totally oppose Nesta's situation of being sent to the illyrian camps). Sex. Nesta does the Rite. Sex. Sex. Something about the illyrian rebels. Cassian gets hurt. Nesta goes feral and gets a hold on the illyrian people. They respect her and answer to her now. Sex.
Or something along these lines. Oh and I have the impression sjm loves her main characters too much to write any scene showing how the decisions, actions or behaviour regarding Nesta of Feyre and Rhys were wrong. Acknowledging this could make it seem like they are flawed people like the rest, and apparently that's not possible.
I pray to be proved wrong once the book is released. Only time will tell.
ACOFAS Gift Makes No Sense
*SPOILER!!!!
I don’t understand why Rhys would buy Feyre an estate and why Feyre would agree to it? It just feels so suffocating - for the both of them. An estate that closes them off from the world, from the sky and the air like The House of Wind, which confuses me since Rhys loves to fly and Feyre loves the freedom.
Secondly, Feyre’s last experience with an estate was with Tamlin which she desperately needed to escape from - both Tamlin and his house. Buying a large lavish estate doesn’t seem like something that’d make her feel at home and safe, not in the way the town house had.
I don’t know, I just don’t particularly feel like the estate makes sense. Thoughts?? Or am I alone on this??

Playlist for Chain of Gold! Took a little while because I wanted to put it where you could listen if you felt like it. What songs remind me of what is below, though often I just listen to whatever gives me a certain mood or feeling at the time — sadness, energy, anger, etc.

The Wicked Powers Theories
I had a few asks about what the wicked powers could actually be… so I came back to the Shadowhunter children’s rhyme and tried to see what I can learn from it.
This theory is a bit complex and has a lot of biblical references and the final conclusion is in the very end… so bear with me!

Let’s start with Bronze:
Bronze is not a regular color, in a way that its meaning isn’t obvious like a lot of the other colors do. So I figured its meaning had to have a special part in understanding TWP.
I dug down the regular channels and found rather basic interpretations that didn’t say much. Then I came across a meaning that said it means the judgment of Sins and testing by Fire. I studied each interpretation separately and combined them:
1. The judgment of sins:
Bronze is mentioned quite a lot in the bible, specifically in the last chapter of Jeremiah where there’s an entire paragraph that’s describing bronze paraphernalia from Solomon’s temple, of which every detail was mandated by God himself. If we take this temple as an example, all of the holy objects were made out of gold (which is symbolic of God’s kingship, glory, and holiness), and were kept inside the temple. Everything outside the temple was made out of bronze. Almost like the bronze is a sort of a stepping stone into the place of God, into the divine. The division is clear.
What lies outside of the temple? The altar, on which animals were sacrificed to atone for our sins (go vegan), and the enormous “Brazen Sea” which was a large bronze basin of pure water, to cleanse and purify. So the place where you atone for your sins, where the blood is spilled, as well as the place where you wash them away, is all made from bronze.
It seems as bronze is where God’s judgment deals with sin, and only then can a person enter the temple, and by context - the pure and holy presence of God.
Bronze is also the material of which Moses made The Bronze Serpent, which God told Moses to make so that the people who saw it would be protected from dying from the bites of the “fiery serpents”, which God had sent to punish them for speaking against him and Moses. Again, judgment for sins.
You can also say a big motive here is the suffering. Both examples point at the pain one must go through to be redeemed - which is a Christian motive, if not a Jewish one (though I say the animal suffering is not something to be dismissed) - but TSC is based much more on Christianity than on anything else.
2. Tested by fire - this is rather short. Metals such as bronze and gold can withstand fire. Fire means a deep purification. Water washes the surface, but fire cleanses through and through.

Now, the phrase said, “Bronze to summon wicked powers”.
This is pretty significant to me. It’s an action, something one must do in order to obtain these powers.
So if bronze is what you must do, does it mean you have to call god’s judgment? Or rather, the angel? Do you have to sacrifice something or someone? Do you have to prove you’re “tested by fire”, or rather, “purified”, in order to obtain these powers?
Secondly, If you must summon them, that must mean they don’t already exist here. There are many assumptions that Kit or Ash are the wicked powers… but that phrasing doesn’t sit well with that theory. And besides, their powers are not wicked, they just are.
Another question is - when you summon those powers, where do they go? Are they contained in an object like the bronze serpent? Do they go to a person? Perhaps the one who summoned them? And if so, does the bearer of the powers even matter? For example, if it’s someone like Ash, who was already used as a vessel for dark powers, who’s blood is unique - does it magnify or change the power?
But this whole thing bothers me in the most basic of ways - it all screams Devine, but if so, why are the powers wicked?
We all know the word summoning has two sides - good and bad. But powers are not so black and white. Powers are just powers, it’s the person who bares them that decides if they’re used to do good or bad.
So maybe the powers are not wicked themselves, but they’re called so because of how they’re obtained. Wicked isn’t necessarily evil, it’s more like immoral. Maybe in order to obtain those “Wicked Powers”, you have to commit something just as wicked, as immoral as their name.

“And bronze to summon wicked powers” is the last phrase of the poem. The last option, the last resort.
“Being the final series installment, Cassie has plans for all the characters who are still around to face the greatest threat they’ve ever faced, and the characters from different generations of the Shadowhunter Chronicles will have to unite and join forces in the biggest battle they’ll ever have to take it down, and that something will happen that will change the nature of Shadowhunters and what they mean. She has also stated that “It will bring the Shadowhunter Chronicles to an end. The Shadowhunter world will change forever.”
(from TSC wiki)
I’ve always thought it’d be a sort of apocalypse scenario, because of this description. This screams sacrifice for me, and a sacrifice on a much greater scale than what we’ve faced before - which is a personal sacrifice. I think it would have to be a collective decision, something all must pay. And if the Shadowhunters world will change forever, does that mean there will be a shadowhunters world? Will there even be shadowhunters left? Not in a sense of mass death, but of powers? What if the sacrifice, the one that so clearly screams blood, is not life, but their angelic blood?

This is so complicated, and while I do have many thoughts about more specific scenarios, I figured I should start with this, and hear what all of you make of it!
