Given how they treated the actor as a child, it should be obvious to everyone now that Will was a punching bag to them the whole time. Why else open season 5 with a completely gratuitous rape torture scene that had absolutely no bearing on the plot just to retcon the beginning of the show? They just wanted another opportunity to watch Will suffer and to cast another young boy they could abuse on set.
