A Fierce Green Fire
I sat through history class like all students: with a mild interest in the regurgitation of facts and dates. It was not until my senior year in high school that I met a teacher that could change my perspective on history – a teacher that showed me that what has happened in the past directly caused the situation we are living in today. So while environmental science may be leagues away from the subject of history, the history of environmental science is vital for the evolution of the subject and key to making a difference in the world.
I recently watched a film about the history of the environmentalist movement, and it was quite refreshing to learn about those that fought for the same principles and issues I hold dear to my heart. A Fierce Green Fire: The Battle for a Living Planet, a film by Mark Kitchell, caught my eye and quickly found itself on my Netflix queue.  Looking back at the techniques utilized by environmental activists allows current and future activists to discern how to best get the point across (because frankly if the point doesn’t come across soon and very clear, there may be no planet)
