Is this blog still active???

For the most part, no. I’m still very active on Tumblr as a site, but not so much this blog. I’ll be updating it more in the future, but I’ve been lacking inspiration for a while. I’ll probably be putting out more content in the future, but I’m on an unofficial semi-hiatus for now. I hope to update at least a couple times in the next few months!

Sure thing! I don’t know if I have many, so I’ll just write up some new headcanons here.

It takes a while for either of them to ask the other out since they’re both pretty private people

They start going out as friends, but the mood shifts to more romantic at some point (neither of them are quite sure when it was so subtle)

Their dates are pretty chill, mostly walks through parks, relaxing at each other’s houses, or target practice

PDA is a definite no-no for both of them, and while Chiba enjoys a bit of physical affection, Hayami just needs to spend time with Chiba to show she cares

LOTS of present-giving, during holidays, special occasions, or just a simple “saw this and I thought of you” gift

They think nobody knows they’re dating, but everyone knows. It’s pretty obvious to them solely based on the amount of time they spend together

They’re not too big on being overly romantic, but occasionally Chiba will do something really sappy and Hayami will just dIE

Kisses between them are short and sweet

I'm working on a Greatest Showman au for assclass so if you have any ideas for 3-e's oddities please tell me. All I have that's concrete is that during performances Chiba pins his bangs so one eye is visible.

Random headcanon that if Chiba is tasked with carrying something heavy, he'll set the thing on his hip like a parent carrying a baby because his hips are actually wide enough for it and it makes it easier to carry. His sister's used to make fun of his 'birthing hips' but stopped once he developed the habit of closing drawers and car doors by bumping it with his hip. Now they're just jealous.

It’s confirmed. Chiba has amazing hips.

The sun shone on the side of their faces. The beams of light hit them through the open window. Everyone had already left the building, and it was only them now. The two of them. It almost felt like a love confession setting, though the feeling in the air was much more somber.

They’d been friends for a few months now and were closer than ever before. It was only natural he’d notice something was wrong, yet still, Jasmine didn’t want to believe he had. After all, he’d only asked to talk to her, without giving any specific details on what exactly he intended to talk about. She absolutely could not jump to conclusions.

“Are you okay?” He posed a simple question, one that required a mere one-word answer. Despite this, Jasmine couldn’t seem to bring herself to talk. She merely stared at the ground, not wanting to meet his eyes. She knew if their eyes met, he’d be able to see her pain. That could not happen. Not now, not ever.

There was an undeniable dryness in her throat, possibly caused by the surprise of it all. Nobody was supposed to notice. She tried to make sure of it. Hell, she was sure nobody had noticed. Yet somehow, Karma had. She wasn’t sure why she expected any less, he was an observant person after all.

She was frozen. Time went by at a snail’s pace, barely moving at all in fact. She felt tears well up in her eyes, and run down her cheeks before she could stop them. She sat down on the ground, unable to speak.

Karma sat down beside her and placed a hand on her shoulder, clearly trying to comfort her. She couldn’t explain exactly how, but she could almost feel the concern in him. Happy. Everyone around her, happy. That’s all she ever wanted. She didn’t want them to worry about her.

“If you want to talk, you can talk to me,” he stated, rubbing her head a bit. “I can’t promise I’ll know how to respond, but I can promise I’ll care about what you have to say.”

She hadn’t been counting on opening up, but something about his sincerity that touched her, and made her feel comfortable. Only the basics were explained: 

Recently, her grades had been slipping, to a point where her parents had a “talk” with her about them. The basic idea of this “talk” was her parents letting her know if she didn’t get her grades up, there would be consequences. There was also a lot of yelling. Far, far too much yelling.

Every night, she would stay up late studying. Several nights had ended with her going to sleep crying. It wasn’t that her parents were bad people by any means, they just had their faults like every other human being on the planet. She was pretty sure they’d care if she let on how much stress she was under, so she did her best to keep it a secret. She bottled up her emotions to keep to herself and express only when alone.

Karma listened to it all with a few patient nods. After a few minutes, she had finished speaking and gave him a sheepish smile. 

“Sorry, I might have overshared. I really don’t hope I burdened you too much.”

“Not at all,” Karma responded, giving her a small grin. “If you want, I can help you out. I’m pretty good in my classes, after all, and they say teaching someone is a great way to better understand the material.”

Jasmine blushed, hiding her face behind her hand. “S-sure, if that’s okay. Not if it’s too much trouble though.”

“It’s no big deal, really. We can start anytime you want,” he stood up and offered a hand for her to take, which she took eagerly. 

“Monday?” she asked, smiling brightly. Karma grinned back.

“Monday it is.”

Monday came quicker than she ever could’ve imagined. They agreed to study at a public library, so resources would be quickly accessible. She greatly admired Karma for reaching out to her, and to be frank, this made her more than a little bit nervous. Meeting up with him made her nervous, though it never had before. They’d always been close friends, so their meet-ups had always been casual and fun. This one felt different. 

As she approached the library, she felt a tightness in her chest and took a deep breath. Taking a single step forward, she threw open the doors.

The library was a notably large building, roughly a little larger than a ballroom. A set of white-carpeted stairs stood strong in front of her, leading up to the true first floor. On either side of her were sets of booth-like chairs, each colored in blue and black stripes.

As she walked up the stairs, she was even more amazed than she had been before. Shelves and shelves of books going almost all the way to the ceiling on her right side, step stools sitting by each and every one. White, square tables were to her left, and at the very first one sat Karma, with a stack of four books and, from the looks of it, a couple worksheets.

Jasmine gave Karma a wave, and in return, we gave her a small salute. 

“Hi Karma!” she grinned, pulling up a seat next to him. Not wasting a single minute of time, he pulled a history workbook from the stack and put it in front of her. 

“Now, let’s get to work. In what year did World War II begin?”

“Uhm...” She pondered this question for a while. It was a long time ago, so the 1890s? No, it couldn’t be. The 1970s? Too recent. She could swear it was in the 1900s somewhere, so she threw out her best guess.

“1912!” she answered with false confidence, and Karma shook his head in disappointment.

“1939,” he stated as she wrote down the correct answer herself. “You’re more hopeless than I thought.”

“Hey!” she whisper-screamed, giving him a pout. He laughed.

“Only kidding. I’ll give you all the help you need.”

So, they met up at the library nearly every day, and nearly every day, Jasmine saw her grades improve, bit by bit. Eventually, her worst nightmare came: Midterm exams. 

She never could do outstanding on midterms, seeing as they were tests (and naturally, everyone got nervous about tests). The day she got them back was arguably the worst, as it was always a gamble of whether she had done well or failed miserably. Her heart was beating so fast she could almost hear it in her ears. All this anxiety dissipated when she got her test back.

“88!” she shouted, pushing her chair back and running over to Karma. “I got an 88!” 

She shoved her score in his face, despite knowing full well he probably did better. Regardless, it was a total improvement from the 60-70 score she’d grown accustomed to within the past month. 

“That’s great,” Karma smirked, looking down towards the ground. “Say... can I talk to you after school?”

For the second time, the sunset shone on the side of their faces. They were alone, just the two of them.

“So...” Karma began, putting his hands in his pockets.

“So,” Jasmine replied, giving him a small grin.

“I have tickets to see that new action movie if you’d like to come. It’s on Saturday,” he said, holding out a ticket for her to take.

“Is this your way of asking me out on a date?” she posed the rhetorical question before taking the ticket and putting it in her pocket. She began to leave before pausing and turning back to see him.

“Thanks for everything.” She smiled, and, as always, he smiled back.
