@assistlayton late starter lol
Did it surprise him? No. An abrupt revamping of a Ward was rather tame if you consider what else they’ve done without warning, let alone asking. Though, just because he wasn’t surprised by it, doesn’t mean he was much of a fan of such — no, quite the contrary. Then again, one could argue he’d be unhappy no matter what they’d do, anyway. That said; Ofiuco, huh? They’re sure a fan of thwarting their credibility away for sport. If anyone even noticed, that is. Many citizens didn’t seem like they did, if that’s anything to go by. He wasn’t sure if that was amusing, or despicable.
His disdain aside, it’s still for the best if he makes himself familiar with the new locations, especially since he doesn’t have the experience of the ‘Fantasia war’ most speak of. At least the Transportations were rather quick with these bullet trains, even if it took a bit to grow accustomed to them. But, perhaps it would have been better if they weren’t that quick after all; just about the time when the train took a halt, the bright yellow that stood out upon sight made a cog click into place. “Miss—” he’d shout, alas he was too far away to catch her attention, and she was exiting the train already.
It wasn’t his stop, yet Clive grabbed his briefcase and ran out of the train as well, glancing around hastily to figure out where she went for the sake of confirming his suspicions. Thank goodness she stood out easily between the people; else he wouldn’t have spotted her, walking further away. “Miss Altava —” shouted again, squeezing through the masses as if he’s late to work, someone in the background screaming 'Hey!’ as he might have pushed someone by accident. Whoops.
“Hold on-!” by the turn of the street, at the very least there was no crowd he’d have to manoeuvre through anymore, and so he’d sprint again to cross her path, not stopping to think how alarming that might be. And, after catching his breath, “Miss Altava?” for once, it wasn’t his head tricking him into thinking someone looked oddly familiar or the like. That must be her. The issue’s just, “Ehm,” gods, that’s not the greatest first impression, is it now? “Forgive me for acting so intrusive, though mind I ask you how much time has passed for you after the Crown Petone Incident-?”
Now that’s not a weird alternative for a greeting.
Emmy is a woman always on the move- Especially in this new setting she’s found herself in. There’s just so much to see, so much to explore! Doesn’t help that a certain two people are no longer with her to be her impulse control. (Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? She isn’t sure yet.)
As such, she’s walking at a very brisk pace through all the crowds of people. If she’s going to get a good look around the place, she can’t slow down for anything can she?
Or so she thought, as she certainly wasn’t expecting to hear her name called out. She doesn’t think there’s anyone around here that knows her, and yet... And yet here someone’s calling her by her surname, no less, even when she’s always insisted on being called just ‘Emmy.’ This alone is enough to stop her dead in her tracks, when before she’d no intention on stopping.
She turns around, curiously looking at the man who called out to her. She... Definitely doesn’t recognize him. Granted, she’s met many people in her travels with the professor, so... Perhaps it’s possible she hadn’t much noticed him, or had simply forgotten him.
He asks a very strange question, too... How long had it been since the Crown Petone incident, he says? That’s... Kind of unnerving. Not only does he know her name, but he knows an incident she’s been involved in, too. How exactly does he know all that, and yet she doesn’t even recognize him? However concerned she is though, curiosity gets the better of her and she decides to hear him out.
“About two years ago... Why do you ask?” she responds at last, “Do you happen to know me, Mr....?”
Sorry for the absence everyone!! Been busy trying to get into higher education after having a big break of not being in school + stuff as well as not feeling very well for a bit there
hopefully I can remember what threads I have and get back into things!! :’’)
lxfemmerouge:
Carmen can’t resist a good treasure hunt– especially not one that requires a whole new perspective. She’s not so much interested in the treasure itself… (although, bonus points if she can find a good charity to donate it to), but the challenge of following the clues is right up her alley.
“Good thinking.” Carmen arches an eyebrow, still getting used to the broomstick she herself has been flying on. “They do say two heads are better than one, right?”
Another witch, huh? She likes this girl’s style– plus, she doesn’t mind sharing at all, she hardly wanted the money in the first place. She flies closer, offering a notebook she’d been writing clues down in… come to think of it the camera approach would be a lot faster.
“I’m game if you are. Fancy yourself a treasure hunter, Miss Witch? Because all signs have been pointing me toward those skyscrapers. We might have to go higher and get a closer look.”
Witches seem to be pretty common tonight, but it’s not like Emmy can’t see why. She can’t think of any reason why someone wouldn’t take this chance to try out actual magic! The prospect had been too tempting for her, that’s for sure, and she can’t imagine it’s that different for many others.
… It’s also very stylish, she might add, and her fellow treasure hunter here exemplifies that well.
“When I’m not a witch like this, I’m an archaeologist- or assistant archaeologist, anyway!” Emmy reveals, “So treasure hunting like this is practically in my wheelhouse-” and, since she’s basically introducing herself, she realizes she ought to give her name, too. “I’m Emmy, by the way.”
As for getting to the skyscrapers, she thinks to herself that it’s a good thing they’ve both got brooms. Sure is convenient that witches fly on broomsticks, she thinks. It’s almost too perfect for this game.
With that in mind Emmy readies herself to mount her broom, and before doing so, flashes a mischievous grin at Carmen. “Race you to the top?”
diedagain:
Time and time again she’s back at the same place under the tree – the crowds are a little different each time she visits and it’s fun to mingle, guess intent behind the costumes she doesn’t recognize, and energize in the beat of music and company. Lynne’s approached a few people in her visits; for dance, a chat, often both, but it’s a first that someone calls out to her before she does to them.
It doesn’t really click until she mentions the café, and Lynne’s expression lights up in recognition. The strawberry macarons and that stylish yellow coat! Smiling, she immediately waves her over.
“You got me! Barista at day, terrifying zombie at night!” To illustrate her absolute terror, she bends a little at the waist and stretches her arms out in the same direction; voices a low, rumbly ‘ooh’, then promptly draws back to her usual form with a grin. “No, this place is actually pretty small. We would’ve seen each-other at some point. Nice costume!”
One hand at her hip, she extends the other in Emmy’s direction, palm up. “I’m Lynne. I don’t have coffee on me or any spells to give you, but I can show you a few moves! Join me?”
“Didn’t realize you’d have such a dark secret!” The zombie acting gets a good laugh out of her, and, joking aside, Emmy can appreciate a good zombie costume- She enjoys the ‘creepier’ costumes of Halloween! In fact, she’s always found a good horror story to be tantalizing, so she gets particular enjoyment out of this special day.
“But- Thanks! When I found out about the whole candy thing, a witch costume in particular sounded very exciting,” she admits, “I mean you can cast all these spells- Not something one normally gets to do!”
At the offer of a hand, she grins. She’s just gotten here and already she’s landed herself a very lively dance partner, it would seem!
“I’m Emmy, and,” she responds while taking her hand, “With pleasure!”
heartanalytics:
“Now, don’t be mean! We witches have to stick together, you know! Cast me any kind of spell and I’ll return the favor!”
She does get a few last minute variety pack candies for her trouble. Her trouble being not putting a hex on Athena for the trick part.
“I haven’t actually cast a spell on anyone yet! Wouldn’t be Halloween if you didn’t offer some kind of trick,” she explains, “... Still, I suppose being an actual witch does make it a bit too authentic, doesn’t it? Well, thanks for the treats anyway!”
“Trick-or-treat! If you don’t give me treats I’ll use my witchy powers to cast a spell on you~” She’s kidding, of course. Mostly.

That’s... A bit alarming. She can hope this girl is hiding from something as innocent as a game of hide-and-seek, but... She seems more panicked than if she was simply playing a game.
That concerns Emmy.
“Is someone after you? Someone you need protecting from?” she asks the girl, “You can stick with me, if that makes you feel better. Whoever’s after you I can give them the what for!”

“You here for the photography too?” she asks the younger boy near her, “Seems like you need to be pretty small to take pictures for the pixies, but seeing as I’m a witch right now... I could shrink you down if you’d like!”
It’s what she’d been planning to do for herself, anyway... Hopefully she’ll be able to turn herself back afterward, too. Being small shouldn’t make her less capable of spells, right?
But if she is going to help someone get smaller, she best do that first. Might be a bit complicated to interact with other people when she’s all tiny.
“It’s good to meet someone else that likes photography, in any case.”

“Spell gone wrong, there?” She asks the boy next to her, only half-joking. She supposes it could be his costume, but... It does kind of look like a witch (such as herself in her current candy-turned form) had tried to turn him into a sheep, and the transformation had only gone half-way through. “Or are you some kind of weresheep? That’s more creative than your standard werewolf, I’ll give you that!” Though definitely more cute than scary.
... Except for those night-visiony glowing eyes. Those actually are kind of spooky to see in a dark maze full of monsters, and gave her a bit of a startle at first, admittedly.

Things like treasure hunts and mazes and ghost hunts are fun and all, but sometimes she just needs a break from all that and this ‘Ofiuco’s Monster Mash’ Emmy’s heard about sounds super fun- It seems like the perfect way to cut loose this Halloween time without worrying about much of anything.
In the crowd of other people she spots a flash of red hair upon a woman that seems familiar... Upon closer inspection, she realizes she has, in fact, met this woman before.
“Oh, I remember you!” Emmy calls out to her in a greeting, “From that café when I first arrived here- You were the barista.”
She’d stood out in particular in Emmy’s mind- the kind of gal that offers free treats is the kind you don’t forget about.
“... Though I suppose it isn’t too surprising we’d bump into each other again, what with us being trapped on this island and all. Even more of a small world when it’s just one island that you’ve access to.”
@lxfemmerouge liked this post for an event starter
Being a witch definitely has its advantages. Straddled on a broomstick, she’d been able to see maps on some of the rooftops in Fibonacci, of which she’d been able to snap pictures of with her camera (magical spells were sure useful, but sometimes an ordinary, everyday object could do the trick just fine- not like she had magical spells in her day to day life anyway.)
Clearly she can’t pass up the opportunity to find whatever it leads to- She hears there is treasure hidden somewhere, so this could very well be what leads to it! An opportunity likes this is exactly what she’s been waiting for. The thought of being the one to find a hidden treasure is an exciting prospect, even if just for the thrill of the search (though treasure certainly isn’t something to turn down, either.)
It seems she’s not alone in this, however, as she notices another woman, one in a rather snappy looking red coat, following the clues as she is. She could be a rival in this, or perhaps, Emmy ponders, there could be a team-up? She’s not so selfish that she’d want the treasure all to herself.
“You know, if the two of us work together, I’m sure we’d find the treasure even faster,” she suggests, “I don’t mind splitting the treasure if you don’t.”

Event Starter Call! The post describing what all Emmy will be doing for the event can be found here. Emmy’s dressed as a witch and has eaten a candy
Sooo here’s event info finally- Emmy will be going as a witch! And yes she will be eating a candy, as shown by her casting a spell. As for things she could potentially participate in-
Tall Tales Treasure Hunt: If there’s a treasure hunt then Emmy absolutely has to go- She loves the thrill of a good treasure hunt! Perhaps she saw the maps while flying on broomstick?
Ghoulishly Good Ghost Hunting: Emmy does love a good ghost story, so the prospect of a ghost hunt could be tempting for her. She’ll come with a camera ready to see if she can record any supernatural happenings
Picture Perfect Studio: The pixies have definitely caught her interest, and as a photographer and a witch, she could shrink herself small and take pictures for them
Ofiuco’s Monster Mash: Everything else, while fun, is a bit of work, so she definitely wants to cut loose on the dance floor after all that
