This is a pillbug (more commonly known as rolypolys or woodlice but nobody wants to be named Licekit)
Concept: Riverclan cats suffer a thiamine deficiency because they eat too much fish and not enough land prey.
So basically it's leafbare, so not a lot of mice or moles or voles around, right? Riverclan has to subsist on an entirely fish-based diet. They start getting a little sick, like tiredness and loss of appetite, and it progressively gets worse and cats started collapsing, having seizures, and some even die and nobody knows why and they need to figure out what's wrong before the entire clan is wiped out.

The worst thing about the inconsistency in Warriors is that it's not even predictably inconsistent. It is the most mind boggling, unpredictable rollercoaster of a series where they'll manage to keep the most random, unimportant things consistent and then turn around and forget basic shit like who the main characters are related to.
For instance, in Battles of the Clans published in 2010, there's a story about Graywing the Wise, an early leader of WindClan from before the Clan leaders took "star" as a suffix. Three years later (which might as well be another century in terms of the continuity you can expect to see in warrior cats) Dawn of the Clans starts to come out and they somehow manage to remain COMPLETELY CONSISTENT with that random little one-off story from a field guide. Gray Wing is, in fact, worked in as one of the leaders of WindClan from before the Clans have nine-lived leaders. Code of the Clans, published even earlier in 2009 mentions that Owlstar, an early leader of ThunderClan opposes a suggested addition to the Warrior Code that only cats with forest blood can be warriors, and it is speculated that he opposed this rule because he himself had kittypet blood. In Thunderstar's Echo, published in 2017, who do we see become the ThunderClan deputy? Owl Eyes, son of Turtle Tail and the kittypet Tom. And it gets even better. Secrets of the Clans, published back in 2007 details how the first medicine cat, the easily distracted Mothflight, discovered the Moonstone after angering her mother Wind by putting Gorsefur, Wind's mate and deputy at risk. That's all completely consistent with Moth Flight's Vision, written a whopping EIGHT YEARS LATER. So you'll get consistancy like that and then the authors will just turn around and forget that Hollyleaf intentionally killed Ashfur, or make Whitestorm a warrior in the allegiances while also listing him as a kit on the next page. It's like they're deliberately fucking with us. I hate it here but I also wouldn't want it any other way.
Not sure if this counts but what about the legends of the clans being descended from big cats? They just completely forgot about that.

Imagine if Windclan and Skyclan stayed unique. Like, Windclan had tunnellers and Skyclan has Daylight Warriors. It'd make the clans feel less copy and pasted. All of the clans should have at least one unique thing about them. It'd make the clans so cooler, instead of them just relying on terrain and personality differences (Thunderclan noisy, Shadowclan edgy, Windclan and Riverclan just sitting in a heap in a corner, Skyclan interesting because they are new)
the original goal of this blog was to try to recreate those really old wc fact videos that people took at face value and believed 100% bc they contained Some true facts despite 99% of the things in them being bullshit (i.e sweetpaw buried alive) so if you scroll down far enough you can find some actual word of god canon posts

I'll say it once more, I watched one of those fact videos in 2016 and it mentioned Darkstripe was gay and secretly dating Tigerclaw and I was like, "okay" and years later I found out it's untrue but I still headcanon it because it's cool and kinda funny because Darkstripe acts like he'd be a homophobic old man but he is also gay and homophobic
Realizing how Abusive Bramblestar was to Squirrelflight Firestar and Sandstorm wanting Squirrelflight to stay with them hits a whole lot harder now…. (NOT the whole “it’s better dead than disabled” thing tho. That line is no longer canon in my eyes)
I think they are removing that ableist line from future copies so I am more than happy to wipe it from canon in my eyes (although I’m not going to forget the Erins put it in there in the first place)
And yeah, I’m probably going to take this as a headcanon that at least part of the reason they wanted her to stay was so she could get out of her relationship with Bramblestar, and then hope she realises how bad he was to her by the time he reaches StarClan.
Although I think it’s weird how they were trying to get her to stay dead in the book in the first place - I understand they miss her but Sandstorm at least was encouraging her to give up her life and it’s not like the Erins wrote it as Sandstorm trying to save her from a horrible relationship given how they apparently don’t/ didn’t see the abuse in that book

Spoilers for second half of avos and Squirrelflight’s Hope
Ok so at this point in Squirrelflight’s Hope, Squirrelflight is in StarClan hovering between life and death (due to a rockslide), deciding whether or not to go back. During this time in StarClan we have seen Briarlight running around and having fun (if you weren’t aware she dies in avos), her legs no longer paralysed. Sandstorm really wants Squirrelflight to stay in StarClan and mentions how Squirrelflight’s leg was badly injured in the rockslide that caused her to be in this state and how it might not heal.
She then proceeds to say… this
Essentially saying that being dead is better than living a life with a disability
Holy shit
I hate how this implies that they would demote Squilf or make her into an elder simply because she has a bad leg. I like to imagine if this were the case she'd just refuse to become an elder.
Every character with a disability must become an elder or a medicine cat for realism, I guess, despite real-world evidence suggesting otherwise.
Tip for anyone making a Warriors story but don't have the patience to make a good allegiance: Go to Paw in Each World: Untold Legacy. It generates 4 clans and outside cats, ancestors, parentage and siblings, mates, descriptions, image, copy the list, and allows you to edit the info and add more cats.
