Among the most iconic moments in this manga.
I actually squealed when I read this for the first time.
Our boys are so beautiful together ( ; Ļ ; )
So sad to see this beautiful anime come to an endš„ŗ
Nakamura was a deeply relatable character to me and reminded me of how I handled my crushes growing up (not well, lmao).
While I was disappointed at how the last episode turned out, in a way, the ending was oddly refreshing for me, in light of recent shows and stories in the media that betrayed their queer audience. Iām sure we all know the ones that I'm referring to.
Hirose and Nakamura managed to get exponentially closer in the end, and they were both finally able to express their feelings to each other in a deeper way. I also loved to hear that, even though their relationship wasn't confirmed to be romantic, Nakamura still didn't give up on his love for Hirose. The character development was on point and I think it definitely leans more towards an uplifting message for LGBTQ youth, contrary to how the manga concluded.
But anyways... I love our boys to pieces and will deeply miss my weekly routine of waiting for the next episode to air. I also wanted to say, I don't see enough people talking about how truly hilarious this show was at times. There were many instances where I was actually doubled over in laughter. These voice actors gave so much depth to these characters and brought them to life in ways I couldn't have ever expected when I first started watching. I definitely feel a Nakamura and Hirose shaped hole forming in my heart right about now.
stumbling across mpreg by accident has gotta be one of the top ten scariest jumpscares get that shit OUTTA HEREEEEE
This is me when Iām searching for an average fluffy BL manga at Barnes and noble when Iām thunderfucked by that omegaverse shit
Sleepy boys . . . š„¹š„ŗ
Itās been ten years and Iām still not over Hide x Kaneki.
Especially because the creator of the manga said Kaneki was supposed to be gay initially.
Iām also aware that there wasnāt much of any queerbating in this case, but I will admit that Ken and Hideās relationship (especially in the manga) did confuse me at times due to how close they were and how certain lines got blurred.
Nothing to see, just two casual friends being brosš©µš
Yearning. . . But in the iconic warm lightingāØ
I saw someone theorize that āHikaruā is really just the embodiment of the og Hikaruās true emotions and love for Yoshiki and I havenāt been the same since.
It makes a crazy amount of sense considering that the last thing on his mind as he was dying was Yoshiki.
I guess Iāll cry in the corner now. . .
Yāall want a genuinely amazing Hikaru x Yoshiki fanfic?
Heliotrope on Ao3. Just read it and tell me Iām wrong. Iāll wait.
Chapter 12 was literally the hottest chapter of any fanfic Iāve read in all my days.
Aaah our boys are so beautiful together, I cannnnnnnātāØš
Some Yoshikaru sketches I found to give you lifešø
Iām curious what everyone thinks in the comments. We know that Yoshiki canonically has feelings for Hikaru, but do you think that āHikaruā is the same way? Iād personally love to think that the og Hikaru shared the same attraction when he was alive.
I will say, having read the manga series thus far, the dialogue in the anime relies on much more ambiguity compared to the story in the manga. The language in the manga is a lot more straight forwardāwhich, in my opinion is very much needed for a story about growing up queer and in love.
Some of my favorite panels from TSHD that scream YEARNING. Yaāll really need to read the Manga. I swear itās even better than the show.
This anime literally changed my brain chemistry.
Goddamit Yoshiki!
This was me watching this entire fcking anime.
I was literally screaming āKISSā at my tv screen every time they got close like this.
WelpāJust finished binging the Summer Hikaru Diedā¦
Now I fear Iām going to go catatonic for a week.
