trophic cascade
sometimes, I dream of rolling fields
that tumble into sapphire ocean,
of fish that glitter and sea salt air;
a home beneath a summer sky,
an orange tree still bearing fruit.
I dream of your garden beside it,
tomatoes and strawberries and nasturtiums;
you let the dandelions grow between the cracks,
butter-yellow then wispy-gray to
dance in clouds in the breeze.
the sunshine shaped like glass windows
traces the kitchen floor, the counters,
a half-eaten orange sitting in light—
I dream that you allow me to consume you
in that soft, slow way of age;
I dream of a love where you allow me
to love you like mold loves an orange.
the stars, like dust
just warmth, just home
this is a poem about artemis the goddess of the wild, and artemis II the space mission, and how i think the places where the beauty of nature is most clearly shown to you are the places where you can separate yourself from the noise that we make as humans. i love you artemis ii

my love, tell me again about that dream,
the one of gentle kisses under the [evening star];
the moon is beautiful tonight, and I am
fifty-one hundred miles from my home.
beloved, you [who gathers] such tenderness for me,
tell me again about how [everything] is made
of love—let me wake up to the [shining dawn]
by your side, let me count the stars [scattered]
in your honeyed hair and sunlit words. my dearest,
I’m fifty-one hundred miles from my heart
and I think I’ll let [you] keep it if you promise
to [bring] it home at the end of [the] day;
if you promise to come home to me,
fifty-one hundred miles across the sea.
To the rabbit-girl
Let me tell you a secret: there is still a piece of me lingering in the amber of childhood. It’s there in the hum of your throat when you sing, slightly off-key and off-beat. The gold of your hair as the sunlight spun the soft strands. The way you laughed like it was bubbling out of you. The macaroni-and-glitter picture frames, your name scrawled in pink, the rabbits you adored doodled in corners. The secrets exchanged in the dark inside pillow forts that I still hold in my teeth, in the hollow of my molars. You spill out between my fingers like sand. My necklace’s heart charm has been missing a half for seven years. I’m still chasing your memory like the beginning of a song I’ve forgotten. Happiness is the reminder of your grin. Let me tell you the truth: I still wear the necklace. I still cut apples into rabbits. Still, that golden light, spilling out of the cracks of time. Which is to say, I will always love you.
the ghost of my mother's future haunts my childhood home
she hovers in the seams of the floorboards, a heart
beating beneath me like a haunting; she rattles at the
pictures on the wall of my mother’s young, unlined smile.
she cries quietly like something unraveling and
I know she is every moment that never came,
every future she could not hold; dying again and again
in soft dreams that linger only for a moment.
she lives on my mother’s tongue, in the curled unspoken
and the sting of the empty space in her bed;
sometimes she sits beside me as I sleep,
singing softly so as not to wake the ache.
I’m sorry, mama, I did not mean to be a reminder
of the ghost that haunts our home; I know you look
at my face and see her eyes—I know I am her grave.
you tell me I love you like I am already leaving.
mama, I promise even as I am holding you tight,
I try to be light; lighter than your grief. I know her dreams
still send soft pangs like milk teeth, like growing pains.
I hope one day she will find her way home,
and you will stop loving like your heart is breaking;
mama, I hope it is enough.
this is such a sad poem can ilick you
Yes! I’m liking it

A Lover Talks About Dinner
There are two plates at the table, it's getting cold.
I know I'm late, I apologised when I came back.
I haven't seen you in so long. It's strange to be with you. To be back again.
"How's work? How've you been?" I missed you.
This tastes like home, I forgot it could taste like this.
"Did you make it?"
"The pasta must've run out now," God, I missed you.
The sofa has both our coats in it, twined. It's new.
Have you always been so beautiful? I loved this.
The pasta, not anything else. "I'll buy you some."
I lie to you in thought, I am already sorry.
Y’all! The Em Dash has finally delivered a public statement regarding the AI allegations.
And it’s glorious!

thought it would make me sleep

but they are beautiful. they are
beautiful because i am leaving.
kalopsia caused by an 1800 mile

i am leaving because i have to
leave because i know this logically

favorite ships:
okay this really varies depending on which fandom I’m most active in at the time but here are the ships I enjoy the most of the media I'm currently consuming:
Aventio (Aventurine/Dr. Ratio, Honkai Star Rail)
YoshiKaru (Tsujinaka Yoshiki/Indou Hikaru, the Summer Hikaru Died)
Hananene (Hanako/Yashiro Nene, Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun)
First ship:
I don’t entirely remember to be honest but I think it might’ve been Drarry because I was a closeted little elementary schooler who yearned for a non-heterosexual relationship in media and Harry Potter was there for my young impressionable mind
Last song:
Drink Deep by Florence and the Machine! her new album is SO good
Last movie:
The Dead Poets Society </3 I cried quite a bit watching this movie
Currently reading:
the midland throne by km gallagher! an absolutely fantastic book by the way I really enjoy the queer rep and a fun fantasy plot
Currently consuming:
a cup of hot cocoa
Currently craving:
Another cup of hot cocoa...
