i still want a messy ass ship though. like one where they obviously dig each other but refuse to make it official but also hate when the other goes out with other people. a lot of fights ( he punches other guys. she drags girls away by their hair ) jealousy flares all the time. but they never actually “cheat” on each other. they just make it seem that way so they get the others attention. also they gotta be gross and have sex everywhere and have a little too much pda to be appropriate.

Dylan is what he called himself now, a name reminiscent of better times but still reflective of his current stature. He used to be the center of every party, he was the god of wine and fertility and chaos, all of which a decent party should behold. He still is, but without anyone to believe that he is he’s faded into the background. Once upon a time he would have been sat there, skin glowing, life affirmed. He’d drink the finest wines and surround himself with the most beautiful mortals in the room, he’d cause a stir and watch the chaos unfold with a smile on his face and no regard for the destruction the revelry would cause. That life was a few thousand years behind him now, left behind in an age when people prayed and believed and sacrificed. 

Now, the once great Dionysus, owned and worked a middle of the range bar in New York City. Dylan had at least named the bar after himself, but that’s the only trace of godliness left in him. He had thought at one point he could make a comeback when it became a hipster trend to fancy a read of greek mythology, but it wasn’t belief. Nobody believed in him, even the guy who he’d bought the bar off laughed and wished him luck with a sarcastic look on his face. That was fifty years ago now, and he has grown to know every type of person who would walk into a bar like this. He knows them all too well, the hipsters, the clearly lost middle-aged couples, the tourists who can’t afford to be at the hard rock cafe down the road, and of course, the ones who come in because the drinks are cheap and the service is good and he doesn’t bar for fighting. He never bars anyone who spends as much as those people do. Besides, they were secretly always his favourite customers.

He was cleaning glasses when he spotted one of those favourites at the bar, and it was still reasonably quiet in the bar before the rush hit so he decided to make his way over. His long hair fell over his shoulders when he leaned over towards him and raised his eyebrows. “Las! The usual?” He asked, leaning on the bar already. They’d already spent so many hours in the quieter bar hours just talking idly. The more they talked the more Dylan had grown to like the guy, the guy who just couldn’t seem to keep his pretty face away from other people’s fists. He loved the chaos, lived for it. Sadly he didn’t have enough money to let all out brawls occur every night. “You’re early tonight, did ya miss me? Or just miss getting your ass kicked in my bar?”

yo dudes i have wild muse for this plot after watching american gods someone bring it to me!

MUSE A is a god with weening power, people don’t believe in them anymore and they’re starting to fade away, so they get a regular job and just kinda blend into being a mortal by working a pub and using their powers to make sure drunk people get home safe and ending bar fights with ease. MUSE B is a regular human customer who comes in every night and they talk politics, family, and whatever, muse b doesn’t know muse a is a god. one night muse a is talking about everything they used to be and muse b says that they’re still that, that they believe in them. suddenly muse a starts gaining their power back the more time they spend with one another and it’s just! so! happy! and ! cute! gimme!

MUSE A is a god who uses people for sex, who is generally a bit of a dirtbag asshole kinda god, and MUSE B is a human who they sleep with and  accidentally falls head over heels in love with them, but of course they don’t know muse a is a god!! muse b starts to show that they’re catching feelings and muse a is like? ok ur cut off and it’s just super angsty because muse a realises that they won’t sleep with muse b to save their feelings and it’s all just! confusing!

a fake dating turned real relationship spy plot.

they’re on a mission, the mission is not really the important part here, the important part is that they are both highly trained spies who can read each other’s every facial expression and have worked with each other for years. lowkey though (highkey) they just straight up do not get along. one is super serious all the time, a hardass and a stickler for the rules, with a Tragic BackstoryTM they go through life with a chip on their shoulder and always looking over their back. the other character is the incarnation of the 100 emoji. naturally good at everything, chose to be a spy bc they “wanted to be james bond” and has maybe too much fun on a job where they have to kill ppl at the end of it. always cracking jokes and Living on the Wild Side. they go on this mission and they have to play a couple. they fight a lot behind the scenes but have to play like they’re in love in front of people, only it starts to get easier and easier to play it? and they find themselves touching and smiling even when nobody is looking and one night WHOOPS they bang? and they’re like? “oh we were being loud so the neighbours could hear us have sex… yeah?” they weren’t. anyway they’ll get married one day.

bonus points if the mission they r on takes them somewhere RIDICULOUS like the suburbs or somthing n they are like. we are spies? we kill ppl for a living? this is so bizzare there are kids here? we forgot the Real World existed?

Malcolm wasn’t the type of guy who gave up, nor was he usually the type of guy to waste time on girls but in this case the former seemed to be overruling the latter. See, Daphne was something different to him. She was magical.

Well, more magical than everyone else at that school. 

Being one of the only few “muggles” as he liked to call himself, in a reference to Harry Potter which apparently only he found funny because ‘this is real life, Malcolm, not a children’s story’ wasn’t always easy. Not that he ever let himself be anything but top of his class and Monsoir Popularity, but still. It was weird, and if anyone had told ten year old Malcolm living poor in a tower block in Croyden that he’d be here today, at a private school full of witches? Well... They’d have been laughed out of the room. Still, there he was, drunk as an actual skunk on the liqueur which he’d managed to swindle into the campus. There was only a quarter of his bottle left when he made his way to knock on Daphne’s door, sneaking into the girl’s dorms with the great skill he’d acquired from his past not-really-relationships with girls who live there. 

That’s how he found himself standing face to face with Daphne at 2am on a Sunday morning, waggling his eyebrows. “Daphne, my love. I’ve had a drink or two, and I’m ready for you to admit that I’m right, and that you don’t hate me.” Malcolm slurred at her, and an idea popped into his head, his smile shining as bright as the metaphorical light bulb that just turned on. “Or, if you’re not ready for honesty yet, perhaps I shall warm M’Lady up to it with a strip tease?”
