Curiosity would surely be the death of Ethan one day. And somewhere in the back of his mind, he mustâve already been resigned to that fact. Only such certainty would prompt one to climb onto what was the equivalent of a ghost ship with the intent to ride it wherever it was going to go. Bag over his shoulder, Ethan stepped off the dock and onto the little boat, peering across what his park map told him was the Rivers of America to Tom Sawyer Island on the other side. It was an attraction heâd planned on investigating before all the madness happened, and a little bit of dark fog and mysterious laughter wasnât going to stop him. Especially now that there were no lines. As the boat began to move from the dock, he caught sight of someone, âHey, if youâre coming, you better come on! Itâs leaving with or without you.â Instinctively, Ethan reached out his hand to help the other on board.
Friends werenât something that Ryan had in abundance -- or at all -- so, it was kind of easy for him to cling to people heâd talked to before in an unfamiliar situation such as this. Heâd been watching the boat go to and from the island for a while now, deliberating whether or not he should chance getting possibly stuck on the small island. The boat didnât seem to be stopping, so maybe it was safe? The only push he needed was Ethan calling out to him, his head saying screw it and his heart saying go for it. He quickly jumped onto the boat, grabbing the boyâs hand for help. âWhy are you going over?â He asked, still unsure if heâd made the right decision. The boat was running on its own, it could stop on its own too.

âWouldnât it be lovely if any of this made sense..â She murmured to herself. With a pirate chattering away in her head, people vanishing, rides sparking, and ominous noises escaping the Haunted Mansion, Sora felt her sanity slowly trickling away from her. Wandering through Fantasyland, she came upon the Winnie the Pooh ride, an old favorite of herâs. Sheâd hoped it was still functioning and she could take it for a couple of spins to lift her deflated mood. But as she stepped closer and poked her head inside, flickering lights and the rideâs strange, warped audio  were clear indications that, no, it wasnât working, âTo creepyâŠfor my tastesâŠâ And yet she poked her head in further, almost stepping inside when footsteps behind her made her jump out of her skin, âHoly shiâAhhâŠahhâŠâ Hand over her chest, she leaned against the wall, âYou scared meâŠâ
Ryan had spotted the girl early, totally not creepily following her to see where she was headed to. Heâd wondered himself how the childrenâs ride was fairing, so he could use that as an excuse to follow her in -- plus, he wanted to find a decent place to take a nap. But, he didnât pay attention when he kept walking, and scared the poor girl. It even scared himself, handing hovering over his heart. âSorry, I didnât mean to. I wanted to know if the place was running or if would be good to make some sort of fort in. But, itâs kind of creepy -- you really werenât planning on going in there, were you?â He asked, impressed by the otherâs courage considering how the music was giving Ryan goosebumps.

âIâm tired of sitting around and doing nothingâŠâ A small sigh fell from Yejoonâs lips as he clasped his hands in front of him. âI want to go exploring.â While it wasnât normal for the boy to get the sudden urge to explore, there was an unfamiliar voice in the back of his mind telling him to do so. With ease he rose from the bench he was seated on, his gaze shifting to the person beside him. ââLetâs go test out one of the rides, I hear the boat to Tom Sawyerâs Island is running or maybe Big Thunder? ANYTHING. I just need to do something so that I donât focus on how shitty this all is, and admittedly⊠things would be better if I shared them with someone.â
âAre you really sure thatâs a good idea? I mean, things are moving on their own and people are disappearing. Wouldnât it be safer if we all stayed together in one place?â Ryan asked, always one to use caution but not always sticking to it. He let out a sigh before he relented to his own doubt, knowing that if something was going to happen to them they might as well be having some sort of fun before then -- if it was going to be fun. He stood up and stretched his legs, nodding for the other to lead the way. âAlright, which ever one wonât kill us too horribly then. Iâm Ryan by the way -- if you ever need to know what to put on my gravestone.â

âItâs almost Valentineâs Day!â  Mabel twirled around the park, throwing confetti in the air (donât ask where she got it) with a big smile on her face.  âNow all I need is someone to spend the holiday with!â  Her eyes landed on someone nearby and her eyes went wide as she sauntered over about as maturely as a thirteen year old would.  âHellooooo⊠ Is the temperature rising here or is it just the rising attraction between us?  I definitely think itâs the second one.â
Ryan, to say the least, was not interested in the love filled holiday -- especially when they were still stuck in a situation like this. So, when the cheesy pick up line was thrown his way, he couldnât help but awkwardly cough and rub at the back of his neck. He looked up to see if there was anyone around to save him, but it was pretty empty. âUh, I think maybe you have a fever or something. You should probably drink some water and find some medicine somewhere.â

Cadsmir was on his lunch break and was just about to check his sugar when suddenly, people started pouring into his office. Putting his meter away, he looked up and rolled his eyes as yet another person came in. âCan you not read, or are you just hell-bent on annoying me? The sign clearly says âOut on lunch break.ââ
Ryan gave the other a dubious look, holding his scraped and bleeding hands out for show to the other. Heâd tripped and fell during the running, deciding to come to get his hands cleaned up after everything had mostly settled down. âCan you have lunch break at a time like this? Iâll keep everyone out to leave you alone if you let me stay in here with you -- Iâll sit in front of the door so they canât open it. Unless someone is, like, dying. Then maybe your sandwich can wait.â

Ethan had settled in at the monorail terminal, deciding heâd be more comfortable settled on the ground in the corner with his sketchpad while he waited for the madness to calm down, âHey!â the young artist called out to someone above him, âWant me to draw your portrait? Fun way to distract you from whatâs going on and I need a subject.â
Ryan had pulled out his fidget cube -- yes, he bought one -- and was playing with it while look for a clearing in the crowd. He was just about to put his headphones in when he heard  the voice. He was pretty sure the male wasnât talking to him, but he wasnât looking at anyone else. âMine? I guess. I donât see how you can draw at a time like this,â he said, carefully settling down in front of the boy with cube still in hand.
Today, clearly, hadnât gone exactly as Ryan had expected. Honestly, he hadnât even wanted to go to Disney today -- heâd gone alone on a shaky whim in order to distract himself on a free day -- and was planning on leaving early. But, as soon as the crowd surged through the park and swept him up with it, he could feel his heart beat dangerously in his chest and his breath shorten. At some point, he managed to break free of the main crowd to crouch in some corner of Mainstreet. His face was buried in his arms as he attempted to regain his breath and calm himself. He felt something touch his shoulder and he quickly flinched away as his head shot up. âNo! Please. Please, donât touch me. Iâll be fine if you just give me some space.â
oliverstrcnd:
As if this situation wasnât terrifying enough, Oliver was convinced that someone was following him.  He kept hearing the same deep female voice over and over again, but as soon as he would turn around, no one was there.  He walked some more, trying to clear his head, when he heard the same voice say âI know you can hear me, Oliver.â  He whipped around, not seeing the source of the voice, but instead seeing someone else.  âDid you hear that?!â  He asked them, very close to panicking but somehow keeping it contained.
Ryan had been trying to find a place less crowded and also safe. He couldnât stand being around too many people for fear of a panic attack -- even if it was probably safer in numbers. He jumped when he was addressed, sure these guy was crazy considering he hadnât heard anything in particular. Maybe the weird fog did that to people? He sure hoped he wouldnât be going crazy. âUm, no. I didnât hear anything. What, exactly, did you think you heard?â
I have crossed the horizon to find you I know your name They have stolen the heart from inside you But this does not define you This is not who you are You know who you are
