SIVLAK.
Bored out of his mind, Sivlak was sitting on top of a table and singing a song with a guitar he’d found. “We don’t need no education…” He trailed off, before another voice emerged and started singing a different tune. “Trusssst in me, jusssst in me.” Unaware of his mash-up, he continued on to the next line. “We don’t need no thought control. Sssshut your eyesss and trussst in me.”
Yejoon’s lips pursed as he looked up at the other sitting a few mere feet away from him, the song the other was singing initially bringing comfort to him. But, the second… not so much. “--Why the hell are you singing that creepy song from the Jungle Book?” He asked, brows knitting together as he folded his arms upon the table. “That’s not exactly the most comforting thing to be singing in a time like this.”
JULIA.
Julia, having been forced away from Liberty Square like everyone else, was helping with crowd control. She moved between restaurants and the monorail station within the permitted areas, always ensuring that she had a smile on her face and plenty of water on hand in case someone needed it. “Hello, there! Would you like some water,” she asked, holding out a bottle. “I know it isn’t much, but I assure you it’s always darkest right before wishes come true. You can always ask Princess Aurora and Tiana about that one.”
A friendly face, as much as that was what Yejoon needed right now -- he also wanted answers. He knew that the employees probably knew just about as much as he did, but that just made everything even more unsettling. A shaky breath fell from the boy’s lips as he nodded his head in gratitude, hand extending outwards to take the bottle of water that was offered out to him. “Thanks… but you don’t have to pretend like everything’s going to be alright. I’m sure not even Tiana was sure that she had her shit together until the very end.” He chuckled softly before opening up the bottle of water. “--Do you know when this is all going to blow over…?”
FREDDIE.
Sure, this situation was absolutely terrifying, but Freddie was determined to lighten the mood. It was for this reason that he plopped down next to someone that he thought looked stressed (though it was entirely possible that they weren’t) and held out a paper fortune teller that he made. “Pick a color.”
In an effort to drown out that voice that kept haunting his thoughts, Yejoon had resorted to mere fidgeting. He probably looked like he was spazzing out, but he didn’t care. Chances are, when they got out of here ( if they got out of here ) they would never see the people they had within the park. His attention was grabbed by another voice, this time not one inside his own head. His gaze flickered to meet the paper fortune teller that was offered out to him. “--What are we? In primary school?” He snapped, though that was just the nerves talking. “Sorry… um… blue?”
SORA.
“Wouldn’t it be lovely if any of this made sense..” She murmured to herself. With a pirate chattering away in her head, people vanishing, rides sparking, and ominous noises escaping the Haunted Mansion, Sora felt her sanity slowly trickling away from her. Wandering through Fantasyland, she came upon the Winnie the Pooh ride, an old favorite of her’s. She’d hoped it was still functioning and she could take it for a couple of spins to lift her deflated mood. But as she stepped closer and poked her head inside, flickering lights and the ride’s strange, warped audio were clear indications that, no, it wasn’t working, “To creepy…for my tastes…” And yet she poked her head in further, almost stepping inside when footsteps behind her made her jump out of her skin, “Holy shi–Ahh…ahh…” Hand over her chest, she leaned against the wall, “You scared me…”
Despite his better judgment, Yejoon had decided to get a proper look at things around the park -- even if that meant an anxiety induced trip throughout his once favorite land. Though the once charm that Fantasyland held had vanished, just as his courage had. But, it was too late to turn back now… right? After all, this would provide him with the excitement that he had been so desperately yearning for. Just when he thought he was alone, he spotted a figure in the near distance. His heart began to pound against his chest, his mind creating several imaginary situations. Before he could get his worries get the best of him, he continued to approach the other. When he saw who exactly it was, he breathed a sigh of relief. Sora. Though it seemed he scared her as much as she scared him. A loud chuckle escaped him in spite of the girl’s reaction, “Ah, I’m sorry! Okay, only a little sorry though because your reaction was priceless.” He managed to say between laughs. “Tell me why we keep meeting like this? First your missing kids and now sneaking around the creepy abandoned rides? You must have a thing for danger.” He teased.
“I’m tired of sitting around and doing nothing…” A small sigh fell from Yejoon’s lips as he clasped his hands in front of him. “I want to go exploring.” While it wasn’t normal for the boy to get the sudden urge to explore, there was an unfamiliar voice in the back of his mind telling him to do so. With ease he rose from the bench he was seated on, his gaze shifting to the person beside him. “--Let’s go test out one of the rides, I hear the boat to Tom Sawyer’s Island is running or maybe Big Thunder? ANYTHING. I just need to do something so that I don’t focus on how shitty this all is, and admittedly… things would be better if I shared them with someone.”
Favorite fruit?
“Definitely pineapple! Which might explain why I’m practically an addict when it comes to dole whips. I barely survived when Adventureland was blocked off.”
Would you rather save a loved one and let 1,000 strangers die, or save 1,000 strangers and save a loved one?
“--I guess hypothetically I would want to save my loved one…” Not that he particularly has anyone that he considers a loved one. “I really wish that I could say I wouldn’t be selfish and save 1,000 people instead, but why lie?”
Do you like Star Wars?
“It’s alright… definitely not my favorite thing, but it’s entertaining to say the least. Sci-fi movies in general are really not my thing, but I really resonate with Luke Skywalker. On the bright side, that Star Tours ride is pretty rad!”
SORA.
For a moment, she stood in a daze, trying to catch sight of the children she was meant to be watching. They were gone. Swallowed up almost instantly by the manic crowd, and the young nanny was at a loss as to what to do. Moving off to the side, Sora hoisted herself up onto a bench, standing atop it to get a better vantage point…but no–the kids were still lost in the throng and out of sight, “Oh no…no no–oh, what have I done? What have I done–Kyla! Rod–E-excuse me?” She hopped down, grabbing the arm of the next person she saw, “Have you seen a pair of twins? About–this high, both with brown hair..once’s a boy, one’s a girl–blue eyes. They’re wearing yellow mickey mouse shirts–I can’t find them anywhere.”
The only thing Yejoon could hear besides the panicked screams reverberating against his eardrums was a small unfamiliar voice in the back of his mind telling him to run. But for some reason his body was frozen in place, all traces of courage fleeting from his body. He was alone, having lost both of his roommates in the chaos that had broken out. What was he supposed to do now? With no spark of hope to drive him, he began to scan the area over repeatedly before forcing him to take gradual steps forward. The progress was halted by the feeling of someone latching onto his arm, turning to meet the other’s gaze. He an initially expected to see one of his friends, but instead was met by a stranger. “I… um, no, sorry.” He shook his head slightly, still scanning the girl’s face over. “Maybe I could help you look for them though? I lost my roommates, so maybe we could team up and find your lost twins and them? Two pairs of eyes are better than one, right?”
OLIVER.
As if this situation wasn’t terrifying enough, Oliver was convinced that someone was following him. He kept hearing the same deep female voice over and over again, but as soon as he would turn around, no one was there. He walked some more, trying to clear his head, when he heard the same voice say “I know you can hear me, Oliver.” He whipped around, not seeing the source of the voice, but instead seeing someone else. “Did you hear that?!” He asked them, very close to panicking but somehow keeping it contained.
The happiest place on earth, this definitely wasn’t what the boy had in mind when a couple of his roommates suggested taking a trip to Disney World -- but here he was. Part of Yejoon would have preferred being stuck in a lecture hall than the chaotic scene he had just witnessed. His mind was still racing and somehow he had lost his friends in the sea of people. Still wandering around in a daze, he snapped out of it the moment he heard a male voice address him. His gaze focused on the other as he tilted his head to the side in confusion, “Hear what…? I didn’t hear anything.” Maybe this kid was crazy, maybe he still trying to process everything.
CADSMIR.
Cadsmir was on his lunch break and was just about to check his sugar when suddenly, people started pouring into his office. Putting his meter away, he looked up and rolled his eyes as yet another person came in. “Can you not read, or are you just hell-bent on annoying me? The sign clearly says ‘Out on lunch break.’”
“Do you really think I would be here if I didn’t have a choice?” A scoff fell from the boy’s lips as he cradled his aching arm, a look of sheer unamusement painted across his features. God forbid he would be granted with one normal vacation. “I nearly got trampled in that mess outside and just wanted to make sure my arm wasn’t broken or something… it really hurts.” His slight whiny tone emphasising the pain he was in.
