What the fuck
This is deeply upsetting
This, coming from the same network whose favorite doctor argues Michelle Obama is too fat to be credible on nutrition.
I know we all say we should burn Fox News to the ground but like…honestly. We should burn Fox News to the ground.
What the fuck
So “normal” weight kids are overweight? what the actual fuck
You see,the problem is children are happy. How can we ruin this, fellow Decepticons?
Strictly speaking they are feeling “less bad” than in earlier years. It’s not even that these kids are happy, they are less unhappy.
“You have to be afraid to hurt everyone’s feelings.” Is it your goal to hurt children’s feelings? Like on purpose?
If i were a happy fat child, it wouldve made my teens and young adult life a lot fucking easier, shine on happy fat children, fuck what that skinny sad old people say
These people can get fucked. My kid, despite being an athlete, has thick legs and a bit of a tummy. He spends hours on the ice each week between practice and games, and practices at home several times a week as well. He also plays baseball, basketball, and football with his classmates at recess and after school, and runs in gym class.
But because his body isn’t scrawny and stick-thin like his teammates and classmates, he confesses to me that he feels fat and like no one wants him to play with them because he’ll just slow them down. Even when his teammates call him the hero of the game because he got a shutout, he still worries that his size makes him an undesirable teammate.
So yeah, these people can go to hell and take their hate-filled cronies with them. I have spent years trying to undo the harm society’s obsession with thinness has caused for myself, and now for him, and I’ll be damned if these assholes are going to take that progress away from us.
Also, what’s fascinating is this idea that shaming fat kids for being fat is going to suddenly have this sweeping positive influence. We’ve been doing it that way, and clearly it’s not all that effective.
Not one of these subhumans have enough brain cells between them to consider that happy people (babies, kids, adults) take better care of themselves, and people that take better care of themselves are usually far healthier (be it healthy and fat or healthy and thin or healthy mentally or healthy physically or healthy spiritually).
It’s almost as if possibly the solution to this “fat kids being happy” problem is shutting the fuck up, minding your own goddamn business and stop being a piece of shit and suddenly other people’s BMI aren’t on your list of concerns. It’s freeing. Get a hobby.
Do you see this? The way these anchors are speaking? This is how supervillains talk.
I saw everyone on twitter tearing Emma Watson apart for saying she’s self - partnered instead of single and decided to watch her interview for British Vogue to know what the hell was she trying to say with that. I was very surprised to find a 30 minute video in which amongst other things she talks about the following:
She felt undeserving when she was appointed as UN Women goodwill ambassador and sought out Gloria Steinem to learn about feminist activism.
She thinks the criticism she received for being a white feminist was useful because it made her educate herself.
She says there’s a desperate need to reform the education system in the UK to change the way they are taught the history of how Britain has been involved in foreign affairs and how they profited from slavery.
She felt anxious about approaching 30 because there’s a lot of pressure to have a husband and a baby by then and she’s still figuring her life out.
She was so young when she was casted in Harry Potter that she doesn’t remember much of her life before it and she went to therapy to deal with her issues with fame. She used to feel very guilty for being unhappy because she thought she should enjoy fame more.
The interviewer is a transgender woman and they discuss transgender issues for a while. Emma is in regular contact with a trans child which makes the topic of trans rights emotional for her because she’s very anxious for this kid’s safety.
She talks about her role as Meg March in the new Little Women movie and defends that unlike what many people say choosing to be a wife and a mother doesn’t make Meg a less feminist character and quotes a line from the movie, “Just because my dreams are different than yours it doesn’t mean they are unimportant.”
She wishes more people would realize she’s not Hermione Granger but also understands why they want to see that in her because Hermione is a symbol for her too.
She used to think she could never be happy without a partner and now that she has learnt to navigate that better and is genuinely happy single she’s started to think of herself as self - partnered in contrast to the time when she thought of herself as single = lonely.
Every media outlet decided to focus in an out of context quote from the three minutes she talked about her dating life when the actual interview had a lot of depth and way more important things were discussed. I’m sad and angry but not surprised.
Katie Porter: You’ve got about 15 thousand contractors watching murders, stabbings, suicides, other gruesome disgusting videos for content moderation, correct?
Mark Zuckerberg: Congresswoman, yes, I believe that that’s correct.
Katie Porter: You pay many of those workers under $30 thousand a year, and you’ve cut them off from mental health care when they leave the company, even if they have PTSD because of their work for your company. Is that correct?
Mark Zuckerberg: Congresswoman, my understanding is we pay everyone, including the contractors associated with the company, at least a $15 minimum wage, in markets, in cities where there’s a high cost of living, that’s a $20 minimum wage. We go out of our way–
Katie Porter: Thank you, I’ll take your word at the wage. Reclaiming my time. According to one report I have, and this is straight out of an episode of Black Mirror, these workers get nine (*nine*) minutes of supervised wellness time per day. That means nine minutes to cry in the stairwell while somebody watches them. Would you be willing to commit to spending one hour a day, for the next year, watching these videos and acting as a content moderator, and only accessing the same benefits available to your workers?
Mark Zuckerberg: Congresswoman, we work hard to make sure we give good benefits to all the folks who are doing this–
Katie Porter: Mr. Zuckerberg, reclaiming my time, I would appreciate a yes or a no. Would you be willing to act as a content moderator? To have that life experience?
Mark Zuckerberg: I’m not sure it would best serve our community for me to spend that much time–
Katie Porter: Reclaiming my time. Mr. Zuckerberg, are you saying you’re not qualified to be a content monitor?
Mark Zuckerberg: No, Congresswoman, that’s not what I’m saying.
Katie Porter: Okay, then you’re saying you’re not willing to do it.
Video of the transcript above is here and it’s fantastic.
I work as a psychologist at one of the content moderation sites in Germany where we have 1000+ content moderators from so many different countries. Wellness time is unlimited and they take it whenever they need it. The psychologists take care of the employees while they’re employed AND after their contracts end. They get paid 12-14 euros per hour with 50% increase on weekends and during night shifts. We are a team of 8 psychologists working in shift systems to cover all shifts. Many changes happened and I think people should know about these improvements because they matter
I want you to consider the country that you live in with this response. You live in a country with greater worker protection than a lot of places. These changes sound great and I’m glad that they implemented them at the site you go to but these stories are coming from sites all over, including the states, where worker protections aren’t as considerate and as well as developing countries like India:

this movie is such a gem why is it not more popular? I truly believe that if despicable me had not come out at about the same time as megamind people would realize that it is the superior movie but unfortunately since it’s a kids’ movie the children picked minions and fart jokes over this.
Hugely underrated show.
The comedy.
The hidden gems of jokes you have to look for.
The overall story
Everything was way better than anything minion related

How can ya’ll have a Spiderman thread and not post the original?
Oh dear me
this Hollywood thing of making soulless animated films and getting people to watch them just by slapping on a bunch of real life celebrities that kids probably don’t even care about is… bad
go back to professional voice actors! go back to original films! try out 2-d animation again!!
like, I’m not just trying to yell “bring back my childhood,” but at least attempt to make the next generations childhood magical and filled with wonder for animation and story creation
I will still never get over seeing these for the first time:
every kid deserves to have that feeling of raw aw and inspiration
bonus Ghibli:
“Kids don’t care what they consume!! they’ll watch anything!”
animation isn’t just for kids, but regardless of that kids still deserve those first experiences of wonder, those things that stay with them for the rest of their lives, kids deserve thought and consideration put into their damn media
this show is so fucking stupid i’m yelling
The funniest part of this show was these two fighting and if one got hurt by the others words they’d immediately tell them, then get an apology and continue on fighting.
It was pretty cool
You guys have absolutely no idea how refreshing this is to see
hooooly FUCK THIS LOOKS SO GOOD
