Kim Hongjoong!: Captain x Medic, sun x moon
Mireu has said before that he couldn't have shined as bright as he does if it wasn't for Hongjoongs support, just like the moon cannot shine without the sun. Mireu may look tough but when he was going through one of the hardest times in his life, Hongjoong was someone he felt protected by. Hongjoong is known to not be the most physically affectionate, but Mireu loves small acts of affection and so during times when they need comfort they can sit in silence together, leaning upon another. Hongjoong belives Mireu helped heal him, he may not be the best when it comes to expressing emotion, but he'll always be there to help his youngest. Hongjoong calls Mireu his 'Crown of Happiness' because Mireu always has a way of bringing a smile to the faces of those around him. Hongjoong is one of the few people Mireu will allow to take care of him, his word and approval means a lot to Mireu. He's said before that Hongjoong is one of his idols, someone he admires and respects, someone who makes him want to be better. When Mireu first joined KQ Hongjoong felt relieved, Mingi and Yunho had known each other long before they met him and he's secretly always felt like a third wheel, when Mireu joined he was happy he had a friend that was his, and Mireu istantly stuck to Hongjoong like glue. Park Seonghwa!: older sister figure x older sister issues, twin stars
It feels weird sometimes, Seonghwa is his hyung but the way the elder cares for him feels more like an older sister than an older brother like he feels with Hongjoong. He's had a lot of problems with his older sister in his life, and despite not really being open about it Seonghwa's helped him a lot, in turn he's always there for Seonghwa aswell, knowing the elders mind can be fragile. Mireu's stage name had made Atiny's give him the nickname star, Hwa's name also having a star meaning, the two are reffered to as twin stars, lights accomponying each other in the darkness. Seonghwa is one of the first people Mireu will go to if he has negative feelings, the elder has a way of calming him, making him feel at peace. Seonghwa likes taking care of Mireu because it makes him feel reliable, the two helping support each other. Atinys have called Mireu a momma's boy when it comes to Seonghwa, since he's the mother in Ateez family dinamic. Mireu even bought Seonghwa a star for his birthday, stating he didn't want to ever look at the sky and not see Hwa smiling at him. When Mireu goes away, when he's lost in his mind he doesn't always wnat to be found and Seonghwa understands that, he makes sure Mireu knows he's always there when the younger searches for him. Jeong Yunho! : Friends to lovers, golden retriever x german shepherd
BOYFRIENDS!!! BOYFRIENDS BOYFRIENDS!!!!! omg someone please never seperate these two they're so cute together. They've had tension since they met and Yunho's had the biggest crush on Mireu since debut, the two having officially (not publicly) gotten together in 2022 on valentines day. Yunho is someone Mireu was hesitant to get close to at first, he was always so happy and energetic and found a way to put a smile on Reu's face, it scared him, how comfortable he felt with Yunho so he ignored it and lived his life untill he couldn't ignore it anymore. Yunho is his constant, Yunho understands when Mireu doesn't want to talk and just wants comfort. Yunho accepts everything Mireu is with open arms and a wide smile and its so painfully obvious he's inlove. Theres always a certain glint in his eyes when looking at Mireu that makes onlookers hearts melt. The fans always joke that Mingi may be Yunho's boyfriend but Mireu is his husband. They haven't announced their relationship in fear of backlash but everyone knows, they aren't the best at keeping secrets. Mireu is always intimidating, he just has that face, but Atiny finds he always looks soft when with Yunho, he allows himself to let down his gaurd and knows the elder will protect and love him. Whatever decisions Mireu makes is always with Yunho in mind, he's struggled with romantic feelings a lot, and Yunho is one of the few people- if not the only person- who's ever made him feel love as deeply as he does. Each others biggest suporters, Mireu even wrote Yunho a song in his first Ep. "markings on the wall". Despite his aniteez being a dragon and him always being reffered to as one Yunho likes calling him a bunny, when asked why he said it was because Mireu has a habit of twitching his nose when consentrated and he thumps his foot a lot, like Thumper from bambi, when sitting since he can't sit still. Kang Yeosang! : zoizoizoi x meowmeowmeow, fairy x fae
Never a dull moment with these two. Mireu loves Yeosang a lot, he'll always support him and finds a way to bring him up in every conversation. Partners in crime? no they are parners in getting people to do things for them. If Yeosangs pout doesn't work, Mireu's will. Be warned though when they're put together it's like they loose all braincells and energy and its just them sitting next to one another and Mireu rubbing against Yeosang like a cat with its owner. Mireu will ALWAYS support Yeosangs delusions, not always for the better. He loves Yeosangs lisp and is often found giggeling whenever it's strong. Atiny say they act like an overbrearing grandma and her grandchild and honestly it's true. Yeosang will start talking abt the weirdest stuff and Mireu will nod along like he understands but its so very clear there is NOTHING going on behind his eyes. Seriously they lose all capacity to interact with the outside world when together, but it's honestly so cute. If Yeosang wants to say something but can't get someone's attention Mireu is always first to notice and help direct the attention to Yeosang. Mireu also asked for Yeosang to feature on some of his songs or do covers with him because he knows Yeosang wants to sing more. Unit name: YeoReu
Choi San!: father x son, loves his personal space x loves the others personal space
I fear the bond is strong with this one, despite San being older it's very clear that Mireu regards him as his own son. The dinamic between the two is very cute, San will always be in Mireu's personal space, and somehow our intimidating dragon is fine with it. Whenever San needs help or is feeling bad about something he'll immediately go to Mireu for help, and even if Mireu didn't know a lot about the topic before he will most definitely be an expert in it in a few minutes. Mireu is also very close to San's family, especially his father. At first San was actually scared of Mireu, since he was much bigger than San and seemed really intimidating with the tattoos and piercings he had at the time and it took them a while to warm up to one another since Mireu thought San hated him. It was only after their debut that the misconception was cleared and the two quickly became close. Just like San always spends a lot of his time in Seonghwas room, a lot of his time is spent in Mireu's, the younger will sometimes walk into his room to just find San asleep on his bed. Song Mingi!: raspy deep voice x smooth deep voice, idiots together
listen I know I said when Mireu and Yeosnag are put together they have no braincels but these two..... it's insane they'll be fighting while holding hands sitting in one anothers lap like guys... both of them are so smart but the longer they spend time together the dumber they become. It may not be very obvious to those outside, or even to these two but they have a really special connection, Mireu was first to notice some of Mingi's mental helath struggles, and followed him on an hiatus shortly after. These two are like brothers but they don't realise it, Mireu also helps Mingi with his english a lot. When Mireu realised he liked Yunho Mingi was actually the first person he went too to talk about it. On hiatus he'd visit Mingi a alot and even took Mingi back to his home town so that the elder could get a breath of fresh air. They know each other suprisingly well, being able to name habits and tiny details of the other without realising it. When Mingi sits and produces or writes his lyrics Mireu will be next to him and vice versa, Mingi even featured on one of Mireu's songs in his solo albums! Mingi is the perfect person for Mireu to yapp too because he permanently zones out so Mireu can yapp abt the same topic again and again and Mingi will be just as interested every time. Jung Wooyoung!: talks fast and nonsensical x understands, partners in crime
These two together are the reason Hongjoong is developing grey hairs at an early age. Literally please seperate them. Wooyoung is like Mireu's backpack cause he's ALWAYS on the taller getting a piggy back ride. Honestly though these two are such besties, always gossiping about any and everyone and the bestest of friends. Whenever Wooyoung has an idea Mireu is right behind him cheering him on, it's like Mireu turns Wooyoungs Menace tendencies to the max, and Wooyoung brings out the mance in Mireu. If Mireu is the third wheel between Yungi then Yunho is the thirdwheel to these two. Mireu teaches Wooyoung how to cook, Wooyoung was actually the first geust on Mireu's youtube series where he cooks and talks with friends. Wooyoung has a lot of fans that aren't the nicest or most respectfull and Mireu is always first to defend him. There's a video from an airport arrival where a sassaeng tried to grab Wooyoung but Mireu pulled him closer and protected him. Mireu's younger sister is actually very close with Wooyoung and despite there being an age difference she and Kyungmin often have a lot of playdates. Wooyoung says she feels like a younger sister he never had in a family full of boys. The two often like switching siblings for a day. Unit name: MiWoo
Choi Jongho!: baby bear x baby lizard that sits on the bears head 24/7
Jongho isn't used to being one of the youngest, so as much as he enjoys his hyungs love, he's very happy he has a younger member to care for, its in his nature being an older sibling so he's happy for the times he gets to look after Mireu, which isn't a lot cause the younger try's to act older a lot of the time, but still. Mireu is probably one of, if not the most, supportive of Jongho's voice. Literally looks at him with stars in his eyes when he sings and even went to Jongho before debut when he was self conscious about his own singing and wanted advice. It's a weird dinamic but they somehow make it work. Whenever Jongho wears shorts Mireu cheers, mostly because Mireu himself hates wearing long pants and doesn't understand how Jongho isn't sweating his balls off. Whenever Mireu has some or other dumbass idea, Jongho is there to ENSURE he goes through with it. Literally Jongho is Mireu's bank accounts worst fear. Jongho doesn't like touch a lot, and while Mireu does, he doesn't mind Jongho's hesitance towards it and instead likes getting them little matching things like pins or bandanas that Jongho can wear.
