Me, coming into your inbox to be a hating, lil trashcat with you:
*clears throat in an exagerrated way*
the character everyone gets wrong
a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom
which ship fans are the most annoying?
it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on...
you're mad/ashamed/horrified you actually kind of like...
ngl I wish I could ask every one those for you, MJ but I don't wanna overwhelm :3 Love ya, homie! <3
HI I LOVE YOU TOO <33 ok umm
1: i feel this about a lot of characters. Odysseus & Diomedes for sure, PENELOPE, to some extent Sthenelus imho
2: Diomedes would not be a top dom and my compelling argument is because he has no rizz and i'm the most correct
3: some odydio fans because why does everything have to involve Odysseus. he has an entire epic poem dedicated 2 him like seriously. sometimes i just want to see my boy
4: Capaneus/Evadne. theyve got both romance and tragedy. most lesbian hetero couple. chefs kiss
5: im not ashamed of liking anything :]
become the most wretched of women
I wish l was as confident as Lancelot, how do you leave a bleeding friend behind to bang your queen who is married?????
In La Mort le Roi Artu (The Death of King Arthur, c. 1220), when Lancelot and Guinevere are caught in the act they are actually around fifty and their relationship has lasted for 20-30 years.
Wanted to do a few illustrations that try to capture that dimension because adaptations tend to have them very young.
(In the text, Guinevere is explicitely past fifty, Lancelot is a bit younger, and the chronology is not always coherent but Gawain is 76 and Arthur is 92)
It's been another whole year... Borth day again..
Ever see Ray Harryhausen’s “Jason & the Argonauts”?
No.... What is that 🤔
Are you italian?
No but I can speak it!
Artemis and The Waitress yuri is a thing right. Is it. Please tell me it is. I will make it

@a-chaotic-dumbass @nysus-temple here it is!! also tagging @godsofhumanity because you said something about calydonian boar hunt which i mention ever so briefly. the links will take you to fics i have written about the aforementioned occurrence since i will shamelessly take any chance to plug my writing.
Telamon (22) kills his younger half-brother, so both he and Peleus (19) are exiled by their father. Peleus is taken in by his uncle and marries his cousin. He eventually joins the Calydonian Boar Hunt, and accidentally kills his uncle/father-in-law, resulting in his fleeing for a second time. In this second exile he is accused of attempted infidelity by the King’s wife, whom he shunned. The news reaches his own wife, who kills herself, leaving the throne of Pthia to him. The King chases Peleus for revenge, organizing an attack on him by centaurs on Mount Pelion. Chiron aids Peleus and saves his life. This whole fiasco takes 9 years to unfold.
Peleus’ (28) success during the Boar Hunt results in his marriage to Thetis. A year after the wedding, he joins Jason on the Argo. Thetis gives birth to 6 boys before Achilles is born but they all die in infancy.
Priam (27) and Hecuba (25) introduce Paris (0) into the world and almost immediately abandon him into the wild. So far they’ve had Hector (8), his sister (7), Deiphobus (5) and the twins Cassandra and Helenus (4)
4 years later, Achilles (0) is born and dunked in the Styx; Thetis then leaves Peleus (34).
Phoenix (35) gets exiled and comes Phthia because Peleus (35) is his friend, Achilles (1) is living with his dad, he and childless Phoenix bond.
Patroclus (8) kills his playmate over losing a game of petteia; his father sends him away, Peleus (40) empathizes and takes him in, Patroclus and Achilles (5) meet for the first time (ROUGH SEAS)
Menelaus (16) and Agamemnon (21) seek asylum in Sparta, Clytemnestra (14) is immediately infatuated by Agamemnon, Helen (14) not so much. Castor and Pollux (14) are interested in the stories they have to tell.
Agamemnon (22) leaves Sparta to overthrow Aegisthus (20) in Mycenae; he (23) returns to ask for Clytemnestra’s (16) hand in marriage but she’s already married. He kills Tantalus and son (<1) and gets engaged to her (BLOOD-RED HANDS).
Helen (16) gets kidnapped by Theseus about a month later, the Dioscuri (16) bring her back; Clytemnestra (16) and Agamemnon’s (23) wedding gets pulled forward despite the mourning period out of fear for Clytemnestra’s wellbeing and because she is displaying symptoms of pregnancy. Peleus (43) leaves Achilles (9) and Patroclus (12) to go on a military expedition to Troy with Hercules and Telamon (46). When he returns it’s all he talks about and Achilles becomes obsessed with the idea of Troy. Podarkes/Priam (40) earns his epithet when his father (65) gets killed, Hector (21) has his first experiences with war. Telamon takes Priam’s sister as a concubine and she births Teucer, Ajax is 14 at the time.
Helen (18) gets wed off to Menelaus (20). Odysseus (22) marries Penelope (20), Agamemnon (25) and Clytemnestra (18) already have Iphigenia (1) and she’s heavily pregnant (OLIVE TREE)
Achilles (11) gets sent to Charon as a method of education, by now he and Patroclus (14) are inseparable.
Achilles (13) comes back home from Charon and teaches Patroclus everything he learned.
Helen (25) leaves Sparta with Paris (22) (WATCH THE STARS COLLAPSE), Hector (30) freaks out (GATES OF TROY); Achilles (18) impregnates Deidamia (17); Odysseus (29), Agamemnon (32), and Menelaus (27) come and get him for war (SKYROS); Penelope (27) is left alone with Telemachus (1) (CRAZY FOR YOU) and Orestes (10) and Pylades (12) are sent to Sparta to stay with Hermione (6) for her protection.
Achilles (18) goes to Phthia, his father (52) gives him gifts and weapons, Achilles takes Patroclus (21) and Phoenix (52) with him (SAY YOU REMEMBER ME). At Aulis, Iphigenia (11) is brought in as a supposed bride for Achilles, but she is sacrificed (WEDDING ALTARS AND SACRIFICIAL SHRINES). Electra (10) and Chrysothemis (4) are now alone with their mother.
Achilles (25) kills Andromache’s (35) family and she flees to Troy, where she remeets Hector (37) whom she knows from 29 years prior. They get married and a year later Andromache gives birth to Scamandrius/Astyanax.
I'm genuinely impressed you were able to create a timeline! :D
Whoa very nice indeed sounds something I had in mind as well! I would though place Penelope at the age of what you placed Clytemnestra in this one maybe one or two years younger during her marriage (around 15 of 16) that is because when I estimated the age of Odysseus to my other post realized at the events of the Iliad he should be in his mid-40s ("green old man")
So how old is Odysseus exactly? Many make speculations of his age, me included. Interestingly we have several hints in both art and the scr
which makes him in his 50s when he finally comes back. If Penelope was so close to his age then the marriage establishment with her would be interesting given the haste for her fertility as well. I would expect Penelope was almost a decade younger than Odysseus being in her 40s when she gets to have her husband back. That is also because we have 10 years between the oath of Tyndareus and the starting of war according to some sources so she was in her 20s when Odysseus left. But that is my estimation.
👉👈 saw the posts about the ages in the odyssey/iliad And was wondering do we know how much time (roughly) passed between the suitors of hel
Otherwise this is a very impressive attempt. @pelideswhore
thank you!! according to my timeline telemachus is born 8 years after odysseus and penelope get married, not for lack of trying but rather because penelope struggled with fertility. she has (according to me) what we now know as PCOS.
No problem! Oh yes I agree. I also estimated in another post of mine that Odysseus and Penelope managed to have Telemachus almost a decade later:
A small thing that needs to be said is that according to Homer Odysseus left Telemachus a "newborn" (or at least so Menelaus says in the Ody
Ironcally it could be an issue for fertility of them both. It could be hidden in plain sight to the lore! We know that Odysseus's grandfather, Autolycus had many sons (7 according to some sources) and daughters. Odysseus has only one sister. He was also characterized by Euryclea "much prayed for" (πολυάρητος) which could mean that Anticlea and Laertes ALSO had trouble conceiving at first, potentially waiting for Odysseus for a long time! Odysseus also potentially is not THAT fertile either considering at least Homer-wise, how he doesn't imply the existence of children with Circe as opposed to Telegony and we definitely do not see any with Calypso either and the dude was being consistently raped for 7 years and somehow didn't get her pregnant. (of course his age being probably well over 50 by the end of it contributed to that and maybe even before being at his final 40s as well but it is possible that it runs in the family) So it is my estimation that both Odysseus and Penelope had fertility issues. Penelope could indeed have PCOS which is not uncommon in women after all and is managable today with medication but yeah. It could be that she has issues like that or simply fertility issues which also are common. Miscarriages during pregnancies also often occur during the first trimester and often women didn't know they were even pregnant at that stage. Definitely many options here.
Telemachus in other sources, as I too mention and as you said must have been an infant when thrown at the feet of the animals or tops 1 (which is what I used in my own retelling to connect Odysseus with Astyanax who also seems to be around 1 when Troy falls)
My comment was only on Penelope being 20 at the time of her marriage that's all! ^_^ I calclated that she would be around 15 or 16 when married to Odysseus who would be at least 8 to a decade older. That is so that Penelope would still be in fertile age in theory during her courting by the suitors ^_^ So yeah I estimate Odysseus be older like in his 26-28 years of age when he marries and Penelope being around 15-16 years of age instead Arguagly Odysseus was one of the oldest at Iliad excluding Nestor and pitentially Idomeneus. He seems to be at the same age group as Agamemnon if not older than him. But that is my estimation
i never thought about odysseus’ fertility!!!! this is so clever actually i love this

You know, most "fans" of Penelope usually aren't fans of Odysseus in solidarity with her. Have fun with your toxic unfaithful ship I guess. ✌
