( ( DAX & OCD ) ) ; can find headcanon related to his ptsd here.
Dax develops a ( mild ) OCD that stems from his PTSD. He has an obsession with order. Everything must be IN ITS SPOT. Nothing out of line. Nothing out of place. He is very much aware that his obsession stems from in his head. A byproduct of his PTSD. However, he finds that having ORDER helps him to feel in control. He likes being able to put things where they belong. To organize and color-code and label efficiently. It gives him a peace of mind. It makes him stay ATTACHED rather than DETACHED.
If you go to his home you won’t find a single picture crooked. You won’t find single pillow two inches to the left when it should be two inches to the right. All his shirts are folded properly and organized by color. Same with his underwear & sock drawer.
His desk at work is also the same way. Pens go in the pen cup. Pencils are in his side drawer. Note pads and stickies are to the left of his computer. Even the files on his desktop or organized and uncluttered. He has not talked to any of his personnel at work about his OCD. They all just think he’s a stickler for perfection. So they’ll do things like move his stuff around to see if he notices. & it does. & the offness of it all isn’t enough to cause dysfunction, but grates on his nerves & causes mild irritation & annoyance to appear.
He used to, in the earlier months after his discharge from service, felt constantly anxious about his safety. He felt as if not looking over his back constantly would drag him back to that place. When that happened he tried do to things like counting back from 100 or checking that he had locked the doors & windows at night twice before going to bed. Checking that a weapon was under his pillow or, at the very least, within arms reach several times in case an attacker came in. Now, however, such anxieties have calmed & have been replaced with his obsession for order in his life.

some days he wakes up & he looks around his room & sees white walls transform into washed out concrete with piss stains & blood stains & his king-sized bed transforms into a cardboard cot that strains his back & makes him feel DRY.
